"What do you mean by not really?" Riley asked Jasmine who knew the implication of her statement before she said it."Well, I ate the left over midnight snack this morning." Jasmine replied, looking downwards to avoid the mock anger of her friend. Her cute feet padded with an expensive slipper didn't stay at a place neither, it drew lines on the floor while her hands met behind her back. "You know the rules right?" Riley asked, balancing the load on her head to avoid it slipping and Jasmine winced at the heaviness of it."That's why I am here. I want to eat with you." She said."Princess Jasmine. I am 22 and you are 18, my breakfast are always served in the afternoon, I have been through tough times so I am used to it. You are sick and always need to eat on time to avoid being in pains. "I will follow you till you drop this load on your head then join me. Don't worry, my mum is out and my dad is busy. Other maids can't d anything to you." Jasmine continued but was ignored by Riley who doubled her steps and was almost flying making it almost difficult for Jasmine to catch up with her.The mention of mum and dad made Riley feel insecure and hurt. She knew it wasn't Jasmine's motive to make her feel hurt or underprivileged but it still hurts her either ways."Riley?" "See Riley, it was Gaia and Maia I promise. They were at it again, saying things to annoy me and make me confused." Riley looked at the flustered Jasmine for a while and believed her but when she was about to talk again, she saw the girl place her hands over her ears. If she was just any other person, she would have believed that she was doing this just to spite or mock her but knowing Jasmine for a while now, the girl was too soft to pull something of that nature plus she was really struggling with keeping her wolves in check.It was hard enough to have one wolf but a girl of 18 is blessed with two strong wolves. This was one of Riley's insecurities. She came from a lineage of wolves were being blessed with a wolf was enough but here, she had to struggle to fit as everyone is blessed with at least one extraordinary ability no matter now little it might be. "Uh-huh." Jasmine said, nodding her head vigorously as the smile from earlier came back to her face."Is that the reason for the tears?" "Huh! What tears?" "Ouch!" Jasmine exclaimed after Riley flicked her forehead."Did you think I wouldn't know? Your eyes are read and puffy, and earlier, I saw remnant of tears on your lashes." Riley said, standing with her hands folded and staring down at Jasmine who was easily flustered. Her checks were crimson and Riley was sure she would start stuttering."I guess the news is that good to bring tears to your eyes." "I…" "Don't stress. We'd get down to it when you are done eating. Okay?""I can't wait." Jasmine said and Riley chuckled.Looking at Riley struggle with the load, Jasmine offered to help yet again but one stern look from Riley made her stand in place. The duo walked, talking and laughing about things that got the rest of the maidservants and guards pondering on what common thing could the daughter of the rich and the poor have to be too engross in a conversation.After a burp from Riley and a loud laughter from Jasmine, both ladies kept the plate and utensils aside. Jasmine craved to belch like that too but it was against the etiquette the governess taught her."So what is the big news?"
