Chapter 82: Returning to the Mountain – Yurong Is Too Smart

Void Mountain.

In a small pavilion, Chen Daoxuan slowly opened his eyes and picked up a cup of steaming Primordial Spirit Enlightenment Tea, taking a light sip.

"Ah… refreshing…"

"Let's see just how many system points I earned this time!"

This venture had cost him 1,000 system points to descend, but the profit was astronomical!

Not only had he wiped out many experts from the Ren family, but he had also, by a stroke of luck—or perhaps skillfully deceiving—taken on a second disciple.

"Display personal panel."

With a thought, his system panel appeared before him:

[Host: Chen Daoxuan]

[Race: Human]

[Special Physique: Hongmeng Primordial Dao Body]

[Cultivation Technique: Chaos Celestial Demon Art (Perfected)]

[Talent: Hongmeng]

[Cultivation Realm: First Layer of the Sea of Qi Realm]

[System Points: 86,300]

[Disciples: Leng Yanran, Li Yurong]

Seeing his system points soar from a mere few thousand to an astonishing 86,000, Chen Daoxuan took another sip of his tea, feeling deeply satisfied.

"I've really struck gold this time… truly hit the jackpot."

"But if I recall correctly, wiping out an entire faction gives an extra reward."

He tapped his chin thoughtfully.

"In a few days, I'll send Yanran and Yurong to the Eastern Region. If the Ren family members swear to renounce their family name, they can live. Otherwise, they can join their ancestors for a family reunion."

Chen Daoxuan grinned as he remembered the significant extra reward he'd received when he destroyed the Luo Heaven Sect.

The sect master had been in the Fifth Layer of the Extinction Realm, yet defeating him only earned 500 system points. Meanwhile, the extra reward for eradicating the sect had been 1,000 points!

The Ren family was a much larger and more prominent family. Surely the bonus would be even more generous!

Tsk… the future indeed looks promising.

As Chen Daoxuan contemplated his plans, a formation light circle slowly appeared in front of the Heavenly Dao Hall.

As the light faded, three figures emerged: Leng Yanran, Li Yurong, and a dark green, corpse-like figure.

Chen Daoxuan blinked in confusion.

Yanran had brought back a… mascot?

But this mascot wasn't cute at all!

It was green, nearly black, and only in the Boundless Realm. Tsk…

Perhaps only someone like him, in the First Layer of the Sea of Qi Realm, could so disdainfully look down on a Boundless Realm being.

"You've worked hard on this trip. Come, have a seat," Chen Daoxuan said with a pleased smile, waving Yanran over.

Having spent more time with her master, Leng Yanran had grown more at ease around him. She nodded obediently and pulled along Li Yurong, who was curiously looking around. Both took seats opposite their master in the small pavilion.

The corpse-like figure, however, stood off to the side, hunching over with a sycophantic grin, looking like a nervous bride entering a new household.

This was a true "golden thigh" to hold onto. If he could cling to this figure, he wouldn't just avoid the experts who had plotted against Scarlet Cloud Master, but he might also reach heights even Scarlet Cloud Master hadn't attained.

"Master, this guy was someone I encountered in the secret realm," Leng Yanran explained. "He was originally the corpse of the realm's owner, Scarlet Cloud Master, but eventually developed his own consciousness."

"In the secret realm, he helped me collect quite a number of rare treasures," Leng Yanran explained. "I thought that if he could assist in handling matters here in the Northern Region, it would be much easier for us. So, I brought him back for Master's judgment."

Noticing her master's curious gaze toward the man in the coffin, Leng Yanran quickly explained further. She then retrieved over twenty storage bags she had obtained in the secret realm and placed them neatly on the table in front of her master.

"Oh?" Chen Daoxuan's interest was piqued.

"You make a valid point. If so, proceed as you've suggested. You'll not be confined to the Northern Region forever. If he proves capable of managing things here well, keeping him around could be beneficial."

Though Chen Daoxuan didn't initially care much about the man in the coffin, seeing the considerable haul of treasures he had helped Yanran gather left him satisfied. Whatever means Yanran had employed, the man in the coffin's efforts were evident.

"Why are you still standing there? Come and thank Master!" Leng Yanran's stern voice snapped at the hesitant man in the coffin.

"Yes! Yes, of course!" The man in the coffin quickly knelt down in gratitude.

However, Chen Daoxuan frowned slightly at being called "Master," feeling it didn't sit well with him.

"The sect I've founded is called the Heavenly Dao Hall. From now on, address me as Hall Master," Chen Daoxuan instructed after some thought.

"Your servant, Scarlet Cloud, greets the Hall Master!" the man in the coffin quickly responded, bowing again. Internally, he was astonished that someone would dare name their sect after the Heavenly Dao itself.

As he had no given name, he simply retained the title of "Scarlet Cloud" from his original existence.

At this moment, Li Yurong, who had been sitting quietly at the table, timidly raised her hand.

"Um... Master? Weren't you going to send me home? And... and the gift you mentioned?" she asked softly.

Chen Daoxuan cleared his throat.

"From now on, this will be your home. However, that doesn't mean you can't return to the Holy Mountain. After some time, I'll have your senior sister take you to the Eastern Region so you can visit."

Despite his explanation, Chen Daoxuan noticed the blank, confused look in Li Yurong's clear but not particularly bright eyes. It was evident she hadn't fully grasped what he meant.

"Yanran, please explain this to your junior sister," Chen Daoxuan sighed, massaging his temples. He decided to leave this challenging task to Yanran.

One and a half hours later, Leng Yanran's throat was parched despite drinking several cups of spiritual liquid.

"Oh, I get it now!" Li Yurong exclaimed at last, her face lighting up.

"Yurong is now Master's second disciple and Senior Sister's junior sister. Master and Senior Sister are my family from now on. And... this Heavenly Dao Hall is my home. Senior Sister, is that correct?"

"Senior Sister, am I smart or what?" Li Yurong asked earnestly, her expression as serious as could be.

Hearing this, Leng Yanran nearly wept with relief.

Finally! She understands! It's been so hard… so unbelievably hard!

"Yes, Junior Sister, you're very smart..." Leng Yanran replied weakly, nodding.

She then glanced at her master, who had grown so bored he'd fallen asleep in his chair over an hour ago. Her eye twitched as she looked back at her overly "clever" junior sister.

Her junior sister's "brilliance" was giving her a headache.
