Chapter 2: Rockin At The Pewter Gym

(Mew and her friends continue their journey to Vermilion City.)

(and then to Valencia Island to pick up the mysterious Pokeball from Professor Ivy.)

(Mew and her friends continue to walk until they reach the next destination of their journey, Pewter City.)

(Brock's home town.)

Mew: "So Brock, we're almost to Pewter City. Are you excited to see your brothers and sisters again?"

(Mew asks.)

Brock: "I am. It will be nice to see them again, and I do like to see how my dad is doing at the gym."

(Brock says.)

(Tomo says.)

Tomo: "So Brock, Mew told me that you used to be the Pewter City Gym Leader?"

Brock: "That's right. I was actually the first gym that Mew battled. Mew and I battled hard, and she won the gym battle at the end."

(Brock says.)

Mew: "Yeah. and it's also when Poliwag evolved into Poliwhirl."

(Mew says.)

Tomo: "That sounds cool."

(Tomo says, interested.)

(Then asks.)

Tomo: "Do you think I can battle in a Pokemon Gym someday?"

Misty: "I'm sure you can. You just need to wait two more years and you'll be able to get your first Pokemon, and your Pokedex."

(Misty says.)

(Tomo sighs.)

Tomo: "That sounds like forever. I already got plenty of Pokemon."

Misty: "And since you live with Pokemon like Mew, you must know some of the Pokemon's moves."

(Misty says.)

(Then says.)

Misty: "But while on a Pokemon Journey, there is still a lot for you to learn about being a trainer."

Tomo: "Okay."

(Tomo says.)

(Mew then ruffles Tomo's.)

Mew: "I'm sure you'll be a great trainer someday. And we can talk to the professor about you becoming a trainer too. I'm sure he'll let you go with no trouble."

Tomo: "Yea!"

(Tomo says, excited.)

(Mew and her friends continue to make their way to Pewter City to get to the Pewter Gym.)

(Unknown to them, Team Rocket is spying on them from the bushes close by.)

Jessie: "There they are."

(Jessie says.)

James: "And the twerps said they're going to be at Pewter City."

(James says.)

Meowth: "Yeah. So we can use that to steal Pikachu, along with that Eevee, and the Pokemon from the Gym."

(Meowth says.)

James: "But how do we plan on stealing the Pokemon without them noticing?"

(James questions.)

(Then Jessie has an idea.)

Jessie: "I think I know how we can infiltrate the Gym."

(Jessie soon makes a sinister look on her face.)

(Sometime later, Mew and her friends arrive at the Pewter City Gym.)

(Brock opens the door and walks inside, Mew and the others follow after.)

(Inside the house, Brock calls out.)

Brock: "I'm home!"

(Suddenly, all the siblings call out.)

The siblings: "Hey, it's Brock!"

(They all run to Brock and give their big brother a big hug.)

(Brock happily says to them by name.)

Brock: "Hi Forrest. Salvadore. Yolanda. Tommy. Cindy. Suzie, Timmy, Billy and Tilly. How are you all doing?"

The siblings: "Fine,"

(The siblings answer happily, and get in line.)

Mew: "Hey guys, it's great to see you."

(Mew says.)

Yolanda: "Hi Mew,"

(Yolanda says.)

Tommy: "And you too, Misty."

(Tommy says.)

Misty: "Hi Tommy."

(Misty says.)

(Soon, the twins walk to Tomo and say.)

the twins: "Hi."

Tomo: "Hello. I'm Tomo."

(Tomo says.)

(Then Cindy asks.)

Cindy: "So Brock, how have you been doing?"

Brock: "I'm doing fine, Cindy. How are things going at home?"

(Brock replies.)

Forrest: "Things are doing great. Dad has been having a lot of Gym battles, and he's been training us with his Pokemon."

(Forrest says.)

Yolanda: "And we've doing what we can to help dad around the house."

(Yolanda says.)

Brock: "That's good to hear."

(Brock says.)

(Then asks.)

Brock: "Where is dad?"

Timmy: "He's in the gym filling the holes on the battlefield."

(Timmy says.)

Misty: "What happened?"

(Misty asks.)

Cindy: "Well, the recent trainer he battled has a Sandshrew that used Dig a lot."

(Cindy says.)

(Tommy laughs and says.)

Tommy: "It made the battlefield look like swiss cheese."

(A little while later, Forrest and the other siblings escort Brock and the others through the hall.)

(that leads them to the gym's battlefield.)

(The door opens and they arrive to see the battlefield.)

(is indeed covered with many holes in the ground.)

Misty: "Wow. That's a lot of holes."

(Misty says.)

Mew: "There's a lot of holes on the battlefield."

(Mew says.)

Brock: "No kidding."

(Brock says.)

(Soon they notice Flint digging some dirt from the bag and filling up the hole.)

(Once the hole is full, he pats the dirt down with the shovel.)

(Brock calls out.)

Brock: "Hey dad!"

(Flint turns his head to see Borck and says.)

Flint: "Hi Brock, you're back!"

Brock: "Yeah. We came here for a visit."

(Brock says.)

Flint: "It's glad to see you."

(Flint says.)

(Then says to the others.)

Flint: "And it's good to see you again Mew. You too, Misty."

(Then notices Tomo.)

Flint: "And who is this?"

Brock: "This is Tomo. He's been traveling with us since we met him at the Pokemon Preserve."

(Brock introduces Tomo to his dad.)

Tomo: "Hi,"

(Tomo happily says.)

Flint: "So what brings you to Pewter City?"

(Flint asks.)

Mew: "We're on our way to Valencia Island to meet up with Professor Ivy to pick up a mysterious Pokeball."

(Mew says.)

Flint: "A mysterious Pokeball?"

(Flint says, interested.)

Misty: "Apparently, this Pokeball is unable to be transported like a normal Pokeball so Professor Oak asked us if we can pick it up."

(Misty says.)

Brock: "And while on the way, we decided to visit here while traveling."

(Brock says.)

(Forrest says.)

Forrest: "We're glad to hear that."

Yolanda: "And congratulations on winning the league Mew."

(Yolanda says.)

(Mew smiles and says.)

Mew: "Thank you."

Timmy: "You were amazing in your battle and that Mega Charizard was awesome."

(Timmy says.)

(Flint laughs and says.)

Flint: "Yeah. You really did put off amazing feet. The kids couldn't stop talking about it."

Tomo: "Wouldn't blame them. Mew was awesome with her battle."

(Tomo says.)

Suzie: "And she's the youngest trainer to ever win the Pokemon League."

(Suzie says.)

Cindy: "She's amazing."

(Cindy says.)

(The twins happily say.)

The twins: "Amazing."

(Mew laughs with a smile.)

(Brock turns to his dad.)

Brock: "So dad, do you need some help?"

Flint: "I got this. You all just got here and it sounds like you have a journey ahead of you."

(Flint says.)

Mew: "We don't mind helping."

(Mew says, picking up the shovel.)

Pikachu: "Pika Pika," (We can help!)

(Pikachu says.)

Eevee: "Eevee," (Sure can.)

(Eevee replies.)

Tomo: "Yeah. We can help."

(Tomo says.)

(Skwovet and Meloetta nod their heads in reply.)

Flint: "Well okay. I could use a hand, and I suspect you want to help anyway."

(Flint says.)

Brock: "And while you do that, I can go fix us some lunch."

(Brock says.)

(The siblings cheer.)

The siblings: "Yay!"

(Then Timmy asks.)

Timmy: "Hey Brock, can we play with the Pokemon you caught?"

Brock: "Sure,"

(Brock says.)

(Outside of the gym, Brock throws his Pokeballs and calls out.)

Brock: "Come on out!"

(Some of the Pokeballs open and his Pokemon Geodude, Onix, Zubat, Rhyhorn, Sandile, Dwebble,, Rockruff, Grookey, Hippopotas, Pansage, Seedot, Aron, Rhydon, Vulpix and little Winter, the Alolan Vulpix.)

(The kids are amazed and begin to get close and have fun with the other Pokemon.)

(The Pokemon are delighted to play with the kids.)

(Misty stays out with Togepi and Pichu as they watch the children play.)

(In the kitchen, Brock is already working on making lunch for everyone in the house.)

(He chopped some vegetables, placed some bread in the oven.)

(and cooked some of the vegetables and other ingredients in it.)

(In the gym, Mew, Tomo, Pikachu, Eevee, Meloetta and Skwovet are helping Flint fix up the gym.)

(Flint, Mew and Tomo fill up the holes.)

(while Pikachu, Eevee, Meloetta, and Skwovet pat the dirt on the ground.)

(Sometime later, Brock made lunch for everyone.)

(Everyone arrives to see a wide spread of food on the table.)

(The siblings cheer.)

The siblings: "We're starving!"

(With that, the kids begin to chow down on the food.)

(Flint, Mew, and the others, including Brock join them.)

Salvadore: "I swear Brock, you have to be the best chef in the world."

(Salvadore says.)

Cindy: "The food tastes great."

(Cindy says.)

Brock: "Glad you like it because there's seconds."

(Brock says.)

(The children cheer.)

The children: "Yay!"

(Everyone continues to eat their food.)

(As they eat, they begin to have conversations.)

(especially about Mew and her friends' journey.)

Yolanda: "Really? That is so cool!"

(Yolanda replies.)

Mew: "Yeah. The Pokemon Race was great. Of course, Rapidash was really great, and really beat Dodrio."

(Mew says.)

Misty: "And Dario. I hope that will teach him a lesson about cheating."

(Misty says.)

Mew: "Hope so. Otherwise Rapidash is going to give him and Dodrio another hard kick."

(Mew says, and chuckles.)

(Suzie looks at Togepi and Pichu.)

Suzie: "Those Pokemon are really cute."

Misty: "Thanks. Togepi and Pichu are very cute."

(Misty says.)

(Cindy says.)

Cindy: "Pichu looks a lot like Pikachu."

Brock: "It's no surprise. Pichu is actually the pre-evolved form of Pikachu."

(Brock says.)

Cindy: "Aww, it's so cute. So that means it will become a Pikachu someday."

(Cindy replies.)

Misty: "Yeah. Maybe someday."

(Misty says.)

(Tomo asks Flint.)

Tomo: "So Flint, you were the gym leader before Brock?"

Flint: "That's right. I was the gym leader until Brock became the gym leader when I left. When I decided to come back, I let Brock follow his dream of being a Pokemon Breeder and took over the gym again."

(Flint explains.)

Tomo: "Oh,"

(Tomo replies.)

Forrest: "So Brock, what's this mysterious Pokeball you're supposed to bring back?"

(Forrest asks.)

Brock: "We're not really sure, but for some reason, it's unable to be teleported like a normal Pokeball so we need to head to Valencia Island to pick it up."

(Brock says.)

Mew: "We've been rather curious about this mysterious Pokeball, so is Professor Oak."

(Mew says.)

Misty: "And that's why he asked us to go pick it up, so he can study it. Hopefully we'll be able to learn something about it."

(Misty says.)

Flint: "Sounds like you got some mystery that needs figuring out."

(Flint says.)

Mew: "We sure do,"

(Mew says.)

Tomo: "So Flint, do you think I can see the kinds of battles you do at your gym?"

(Tomo asks.)

Flint: "I don't see why not, but I will need to have a challenger before I have to battle."

(Flint answers.)

Tomo: "Oh,"

(Tomo replies.)

(Outside of the gym, James and Meowth are sticking their heads.)

(out of the bushes as they see Jessie in some kind of disguise.)

James: "Jessie, are you sure this is going to work?"

(James asks.)

Meowth: "Yeah. This idea seems sketchy if you ask me, especially since you're using some of James' Pokemon."

(Meowth says.)

Jessie: "I don't see what the problem is. This plan is foolproof, while I get them distracted, you can sneak in and take the Pokeballs from the gym, and swipe Pikachu and Eevee from the twerpette."

(Jessie says.)

James: "We just hope the rest of the twerps won't spot us."

(James says.)

Meowth: "Or the siblings of the tall twerp."

(Meowth says.)

(In the gym, after having lunch, Tomo and the kids.)

(are looking with excitement to see the gym.)

(fixed up and the large battlefield with a rocky landscape.)

Flint: "The gym looks great, especially since it's all fixed up."

(Flint says.)

(Tomo turns to Mew.)

Tomo: "So you really battled Brock here?"

Mew: "Sure did. And Brock really put up a great battle."

(Mew says.)

Brock: "You did a great job yourself, Mew. You did win after all."

(Brock says.)

Mew: "That's true."

(Mew says.)

Misty: "Yeah. And it was Poliwhirl who helped you win the match in the end."

(Misty says.)

Forrest: "I have to agree on that."

(Forrest says.)

(Suddenly, the door of the gym opens and someone steps inside.)

(Unknown to the group is Jessie, but she is wearing a white t-shirt with a red vest on.)

(black cargo pants, and red and white sneakers.)

(She is also wearing a green hat backwards and her long hair covered to look like bangs.)

Jessie: "Yo, which one of you is the Pewter City Gym Leader?"

(Jessie says.)

(Flint steps forward.)

Flint: "That will be me. So might you be?

Jessie: "I'm Jess from Viridian City and I'm here to challenge you to a gym battle."

(Jessie says, using a fake name.)

Flint: "A gym battle?"

(Flint replies.)

Jessie: "That's right. I've trained my Pokemon and I want to compete to earn my first Pokemon badge and compete in the Pokemon League."

(Jessie says with a confident expression.)

Flint: "Alright,"

(Flint says with a nod.)

(Tomo says interested.)

Tomo: "Wow. Looks like I got to see the battle taking place here after all."

Misty: "Yeah. What are the odds."

(Misty says.)

(Mew says to herself.)

Mew: "Why does this girl look so familiar?"

(Peeking through the window, James and Meowth are watching and see the plan is working.)

James: "That was easy."

(James says.)

Meowth: "Now comes the hard part, sneaking in, grabbing the Pokeballs, Pikachu, and Eevee."

(Meowth says.)

(In the gym, Flint and Jess, A.K.A Jessie are standing at opposite ends of the battlefield.)

(Mew, her friends, Brock and his siblings are watching from the catwalk.)

(Forrest is down below, acting as a referee.)

Forrest: "Alright, today's battle is going to be Flint the Pewter City Gym Leader vs the challenger, Jess of Viridian City. Each trainer can use up to two Pokemon, and the winner will be decided when both Pokemon from either side are unable to begin."

(Forrest announces.)

(Flint brings out his Pokeball and calls out.)

Flint: "Alright, go Golem!"

Jessie: "Go Victreebel!"

(Jessie calls out.)

(With that, Golem appears on Flint's side.)

(while Victreebel appears from Jessie's side.)

Tomo: "A Victreebel,"

(Tomo says.)

(Mew brings out her Pokedex and Dexter says.)

Dexter: "Victreebel, the Flycatcher Pokemon and the final evolved form of Bellsprout. A Grass and Poison Type. It pools in its mouth a fluid with a honey-like scent, which is really an acid that dissolves anything."

Mew: "That trainer sure made a good choice. Grass Pokemon do have the advantage against a Ground and Rock type like Golem."

(Mew says.)

Tommy: "True, but my dad's Golem is strong, especially from a lot of battles with Grass Type and Water Types."

(Tommy says.)

Brock: "Yeah. I'm sure dad can handle it."

(Brock says.)

(Jessie makes the forest move.)

Jessie: "Victreebel, use Razor Leaf!"

(Victreebel then performs Razor Leaf and heads towards Golem.)

(Flint calls out.)

Flint: "Golem, use Harden!"

(Golem then performs a Harden that repels the Razor Leaf.)

(Then Jessie calls out.)

Jessie: "Use Vine Whip!"

(Victreebel then throws a Vine Whip.)

(Flint calls out.)

Flint: "Use Rollout!"

(Golem then performs Rollout.)

(Then with the Vine Whip, Golem ends up riding on it as a ramp.)

(Then Victreebel flings Golem into the air.)

(Then Flint calls out.)

Flint: "Use Rock Throw!"

(Golem then performs Rock Throw and is able to strike at Victreebel.)

(with full force, causing it to be knocked out.)

(However, Victreebel is able to get up.)

Jessie: "Alright, now It's time to be serious."

(Jessie says, sounding angry.)

(Then calls out.)

Jessie: "Alright Victreebel, use Poison Powder!"

(Victreebel then begins to spray Poison Powder across the battlefield.)

Flint: "Golem, look out."

(Flint calls out.)

(Golem quickly dodges out of the Poison Powder's way.)

(Meanwhile, James and Meowth watch from the window to see Jessie battling against Flint.)

(James is worried about his Victreebel.)

James: "I really hope Jessie doesn't push Victreebel hard."

Meowth: "While Jessie is battling, we can steal the Pokeballs from the gym."

(Meowth says.)

James: "Right,"

(James says.)

(With that, James and Meowth begin to sneak around the gym and soon find a window.)

(James checks and is able to open the window with no trouble.)

(Then, James and Meowth are able to sneak inside the room.)

(Back in the gym, Jessie is still battling with Flint.)

Jessie: "Victreebel, use Razor Leaf!"

(Jessie calls out.)

(Victreebel uses Razor Leaf.)

(Flint calls out.)

Flint: "Golem, use Stone Edge!"

(Golem then slams to the ground and uses Stone Edge.)

(Glowing stones rise from the ground, and are able to knock Victreebel out.)

(Forrest calls out.)

Forrest: "Victreebel is unable to battle."

(Jessie growls in frustration and returns it to the Pokeball.)

Jessie: "Return."

(On the catwalk, Misty says.)

Misty: "That was a rough battle."

Brock: "Yeah. Now the other trainer has one more Pokemon."

(Brock says.)

(Mew says to the others.)

Mew: "You know, that challenger looks very familiar. Same with the Victreebel."

Misty: "How so?"

(Misty asks.)

Mew: "I'm not sure, but she looks very familiar, especially with the name."

(Mew says.)

Tomo: "Now that you mention it. She does look familiar."

(Tomo agrees.)

(Just then, Jessie throws her Pokeball and calls out.)

Jessie: "Go Lickitung!"

(With that, Lickitung comes out of its Pokeball and onto the battlefield.)

(Flint then calls out.)

Flint: "Golem, use Rollout!"

(Golem then performs Rollout.)

(But Jessie calls out.)

Jessie: "Lickitung, give it a big lick!"

(Lickitung then lets out it's big toughness and is able to use it's tongue for Golem.)

(to get on and tosses it in the air.)

(Then with its tongue, it gives Golem a bit lick.)

(Soon, Golem falls to the ground and is soon knocked out.)

Forrest: "Golem is unable to battle."

(Forrest calls out.)

Misty: "That was fast,"

(Misty says.)

Tomo: "That Lickitung has one mean lick."

(Tomo says.)

Yolanda: "Now they both only have one Pokemon left."

(Yolanda says.)

Tommy: "And I say it's time for dad to use his strong Pokemon for this one."

(Tommy says.)

Billy and Tilly: "Yeah!"

(Billy and Tilly happily say.)

(Flint brings out his Pokeball and calls out.)

Flint: "Go Rhydon!"

(With that, Rhydon comes out of the Pokeball.)

(Excluding Brock and some of the siblings, everyone else is surprised.)

(Jessie becomes a little shocked and terrified to see this as well.)

(The Rhydon is two times as big as a normal Rhydon.)

Tomo: "Wow! That Rhyon is huge!"

(Tomo says, surprised.)

Brock: "It is. I'm not sure how Lickitung is going to handle that."

(Brock says.)

(Mew says.)

Mew: "That Lickitung looks familiar too."

(Jessie tries to remain calm in her thoughts.)

Jessie [in mind]: "Alright, stay calm. You just have to battle long enough for James and Meowth to steal the Pokeballs."

(Meanwhile, James and Meowth are able to sneak into the hall of the gym.)

(and find the room where the Pokeballs are.)

(Soon, they are filling up their bags with the Gym's Pokeballs.)

James: "This is too easy."

(James says, excited.)

Meowth: "Yeah. And soon, we'll have all the Pokemon from this gym."

(Meowth says.)

James: "And we'll be able to get that Pikachu and the Eevee as well."

(James says.)

(Meowth picks the bag up and says.)

Meowth: "There. I think that's all of them."

James: "Let's go,"

(James says.)

(With that, James and Meowth decide to leave before anyone notices.)

(Meanwhile at the Battlefield, Jessie calls out.)

Jessie: "Lickitung, use your Warp Attack!"

(Lickitung then begins to use it's long tongue to wrap around Rhydon by its arms.)

Flint: "Rhydon, pull it's tongue!"

(Flint calls out.)

(Rhydon then pulls Lickitung by the tongue.)

(Lickitung tries to hang on, but is dragged away.)

Flint: "Use, Horn Attack!"

(Flint calls out.)

(Rhydon then strikes Lickitung with the Horn Attack and sends it towards the field.)

(Then Flint calls out.)

Flint: "Now use Take Down!"

(Rhydon then performs Take Down and it sends Lickitung flying towards Jessie.)

(Jessie panics and Lickitung is sent flying towards her.)

(Soon, the Pokemon collides with its trainer, and she is sent flying towards the door.)

(Outside, James and Meowth are able to reach.)

(the front of the gym and still have the bags of Pokeballs in their hands.)

James: "Now, we just need to get Pikachu and Eevee and we'll be out of here."

(James says.)

Meowth: "We just need to figure out how to get them from the twerpette."

(Meowth says.)

(Suddenly, the door flings open with Jessie and Lickitung flying out of them.)

(James and Meowth panic.)

(as Jessie and Lickitung crash at them.)

(and they all fall to the ground, spilling the Pokeballs.)

(Just then, the doors open to reveal Mew and her friends, Brock and his family, out.)

Mew: "There she is."

(Mew says.)

Misty: "That Rhydon sure knocked them down."

(Misty says.)

(But soon, the group gasps in shock.)

(They see Meowth and James crushed by Jessie.)

(that has her hat fallen out and Lickitung.)

(What's more, some of the Pokeballs scattered on the floor.)

(Dizzy, Jessie sits up and asks.)

Jessie: "Did I win the match?"

(Mew and her friends asks, shocked.)

Misty: "It's Jessie from Team Rocket!"

(Misty exclaims.)

Mew: "I knew she looked familiar!"

(Mew declares.)

(Soon, Meowth and James sit up.)

Meowth: "What just hit us, a comet?"

(Meowth asks, dizzy.)

(Dazed James says.)

James: "At least we got the Pokeballs from the gym."

Tomo: "Pokeballs?"

(Tomo says, confused.)

(Forrest asks, shocked.)

Forrest: "Brock, look there!"

(Everyone looks to see the Pokeballs have scattered on the ground from the two large bags.)

Brock: "Those are the Gym's Pokeballs!"

(Brock says, shocked.)

Mew: "So that's what's going on! They were trying to steal the Pokeballs!"

(Mew says, angrily.)

(Soon, Team Rocket shakes off.)

(to see Mew and her friends and are very displeased.)

(They quickly stand up and begin the motto.)

Jessie: Prepare for trouble!

James: Make it double!

(Soon, Jessie takes off her disguise to reveal herself in her real outfit.)

Jessie: To protect the world from devastation!

James: To unite all peoples within our nation.

Jessie: To denounce the evils of truth and love!

James: To extend our reach to the stars above.

Jessie: Jessie!

James: James!

Jessie: Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!

James: Surrender now, or prepare to fight.

Meowth: Meowth! That's right!

Everyone: "Team Rocket!"

(Mew and her friends exclaim.)

Mew: "So this was a plan to steal the Pokemon from the Pewter Gym!"

(Mew says.)

Jessie: "That's right, and while I lost the match, we won a bunch of Pokeballs!"

(Jessie says with pride.)

James: "And we'll get your Pikachu and Eevee soon enough!"

(James says.)

(Mew quickly brings out her Pokeball.)

Mew: "We're not going to let you take the Pokeballs."

(Then throws it as she calls out.)

Mew: "Meditate!"

(With that, both her Pokemon come out of their Pokeballs.)

Mew: "Meditate, use Psychic!"

(Mew calls out.)

(Meditate then uses Psychic to stop Team Rocket in their tracks.)

Jessie: "What's happening?!"

(Jessie exclaims.)

James: "I can't move!"

(James panics.)

Meowth: "It's petrifying!"

(Meowth panics as well.)

(Meditate then uses its Psychic powers to scoop up.)

(the bags and put the Pokeballs in the bags.)

(Then floats them back to Flint and Forrest.)

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Alright Pikachu and Eevee, use Thunderbolt!"

(Pikachu and Eevee then use Thunderbolt.)

(and give Team Rocket a shock, and then they are sent flying as the attack explodes.)

(Team Rocket screams.)

Team Rocket: "Team Rocket's blasting off again!"
