Darius's POV
"Will you marry the fiery princess?"
The question catches me completely off guard. My mouth forms a small, silent 'O' as I stare down at my daughter. Dora's mind works in strange, unpredictable ways, and sometimes her questions make me want to laugh—or scream. But this one hits differently. Despite the sudden knot tightening in my chest, I manage a smile and shake my head.
"Do you want Daddy to marry her?" I ask, tossing the question back at her, though the unease settling in my gut suggests I already know the answer. There's a flicker of guilt, an odd twinge of disappointment I can't explain.
Dora doesn't respond, but her silence speaks volumes. It means she does want it. She wants me to marry Allison, the "fiery princess" as she calls her, a nickname that has stuck since the day they met. Allison's larger-than-life presence had left a mark on my little girl in a way I never anticipated.
