Chapter 95

Darius's Pov

Marrying Allison makes no sense. Yet, somehow, her mother seems to know better. I drive directly to my favorite court, and within minutes, I'm married to Allison. But even now, I'm not sure if I'm truly married to her. She doesn't seem fully present—almost as if she's floating above the entire process. She looks lost, probably wondering how she ended up here and why everything is happening so fast.

Now, we're back at my place, in my room, to be specific. She sits on the bed with her back to me. Her face is wet with tears, but she isn't sobbing. The tears fall in silence, as if they've decided to fall on their own, without her permission.

"I'll divorce you after a year, I promise," I break the silence, hoping it will stop the tears.

She doesn't answer, leaving me to wonder if she even heard me.

"You won't stay in my room anymore," I continue, trying to sound detached. "I'll prepare your old room for you, and—"

"Thank you."
