A strange Island

We had arrived, it was very dark and I would have assumed it would've been harder to get here. The way that Bane had explained it, there should be rough seas, strong winds and invisible barriers, none of that was true. I don't know what myths and lengends or religion this man was into, yet I held hope. My only concern was for the man laying in the ship infirmary. My father! He was unconscious and slipping away with every minute it took to get here, I don't know how but everything happened so fast, it was a freak accident. None of the crew could fathom it. I as his daughter , had to keep it together though.

Bane the first mate said my father was paranoid and wanted to double check things. He jumped on the side of the ship to check all the ropes and as the anchor dropped its rope caught my fathers leg. The force took him into the ocean and tore his leg in half, below the knee. I was in shock as I watched Bane and a few others jumped into the cold water below to grab him and his severed limb. It was too big of an injury for our Doctor Lucy to mend . We had originally decided to skip this Island because there was no need to stop here.

But then the accident happened yesterday, just as we were about to dock at a small island nearby, but there was no civilisation whatsoever it looked like there had been a big battle there. Even though Lucy had managed to stop the bleeding, father had already lost so much blood and there was damage that only a miracle could fix. Bane was insistent we had to turn around and come back here, he said this island could save him. We had no choice but to listen, since he was in charge now. He better be right! My father is all that I have left.

As we came ashore there were people standing at the other end of the port we had docked at, I let out a sigh of relief seeing some sort of civilisation. Two figures, one 6ft tall medium build and the other 5'9 and slim. Both wore robes with hoods, golden intricate patterns woven into eachother ran along the all edges of their robes even the hood. As they approached us I could tell they wore fitted suits underneath as their robes weren't buttoned they opened with the slightest breeze. Once in front of us, you could tell they worked out. The slim one was actually lean, whilst the other very muscular.

The lean one was the first to speak "we've been waiting for you, I am Hisoki and this is my older brother Amell. Where is the man that's been injured?" My eyes widened in shock he sounded young! Coming back to my senses my jaw dropped "how did you know?… " it was Amell who spoke next his voice deep but gentle "No need to worry, you're in a rush and we're just here to escort you. We will only take you two, the doctor and the patient" as he said these words he pointed towards me an Bane and then gestured to the ship like a gentleman "the injured man, lead me to him please."

Bane tried to hide the surprise in his eyes, for a second I thought I saw a hint of excitement aswell? As I remained stunned in place, he just smiled at the two young men and said with a bow "This way please." It didn't take too long before they emerged from the ship. Lucy following behind holding a big black plastic bag that was dripping with water, the young man called Amell had my father in his arms like he weighed nothing. We were asked by Hisoki to hold eachothers hands. He then reached out and placed one of his hands on my shoulder, whilst the other rested on his brother Amells shoulder. In seconds the scenery around us changed, it was like someone switched a bright light on. Before we knew it we were in a massive ball room with thrones.

I felt a little dizzy when Hisoki giggled and said "don't worry, it happens to everyone the first time" when I looked up slowly and saw his face clearly for the first time, I realised he couldn't have been more than 15 years old and with that the kid walked away. The one with my father laid him on a Gurney set before the thrones, I ran to his side checking him over. "Don't worry, he's in safe hands here" He gives me a gentle smile, although he had a beard he looked no more than 20. He looked like a gentle giant, for the first time since the accident I felt my anxiety dissapate I whispered a heartfelt "thank you." He nodded and walked away.

My eyes followed the direction in which he went and it was then I finally noticed the six thrones had people sitting in them. They wore the same robes as the young men just different colours. Wide eyed and nervous I was about to speak when Bane stepped forward and bowed looking nervous, " G- Gr- Greetings, we come seeking healing and refuge for a couple of d-days as you can see our captain is severely injured." As I searched for any type of reaction I could've sworn I heard them laugh? No they wouldn't laugh at something so dire right? Bane continued "I-I know we are foreigners in this land, but could you pl-please find it in your hearts to lend us aid?."

Lucy just stood there unblinking Im sure looking as confused as me. Why aren't they even paying attention to us? Again I swear I heard them laugh My hands tremble and with a scowl I yelled "Do you take this situation as a joke?!!" Bane stared at me in utter shock shaking his head no. "No! I won't sit here pleading for my father's life to people who sit there and mock us? Life is supposed to be precious and you sit there and laugh!". Tears that I didn't know I was holding start to flow down my cheeks. I bow my head and furiously rub my eyes, I don't want to cry in-front of these horrible people. The room is now silent enough to hear a pin drop, stay strong I chant to myself over and over in my head.
