CH48; Poison Pill

Gazing down at Minister Hu, Zhang Lian's eyes flashed with cold confidence as she smiled and said Calmly, "I'm not worried about myself. As I am not queen because of what other people think; rather, I am queen because my uncle is a cultivator & you don't have the luxury of that."

With a deep sigh, Minister Hu's shoulders dropped a little. He knew what she meant when she said that only his life would be at risk if this plan failed. He was disposable; she was not.

Zhang Lian's tone deepened as she spoke. "You're going to kidnap the three people on top of this list within a month and make sure they're never seen again by the outside world."

"Do this before they take a spiritual root test and do lots of planning with your trusted people first, before kidnapping & Trap them somewhere, where no one will ever find them."

Just as she was finishing her sentence, Cat, who had been watching silently from a distance, spoke out. "Nya, you can't kidnap the 1st child," it stated in a voice that was particularly serious.

Zhang Lian turned to face Cat as she asked in confusion "Why not?"

With a confused expression on his face, Minister Hu looked at the queen, trying to figure out who she seemed to be speaking to and what she was saying.

He glanced across to the table where her eyes were fixed, but there was nobody there. Unease began to creep in, sending a chill down his spine.

Even though he was confused by what was happening, he knew better not ask her directly. He stayed sitting, waiting nervously, not wanting to disrupt or interrupt the queen, waiting for her next words.

The cat said, "nya that child is special, nya. He is a gift from Heaven. Preventing him from becoming Cultivatior will result in disastrous consequences. Disasters follow him like a shadow.

"He is not just lucky; there are forces at work in his destiny that are beyond our knowledge, if he is really blessed by heaven."

Cat attempted to convey its message by hovering close to Zhang Lian's shoulder and softly waving its little red wings.

Cat waves its paw at Minister Hu and Sayed, "I'll explain more later, but for now, tell this fatty to leave the number one kid alone."

"Send the first one back to his family once you become pregnant; the other two will be alright."

"Just don't block his destiny unless you are a high level cultivator yourself." Zhang Lian's look remained unreadable as she processed what the cat said.

Zhnag Lian didn't question the Cat further as she believed in it, and shifted her focus back to Minister Hu.

With a serious tone she spoke, "You will leave the number one child alone."The rest you can kidnap, but the first needs to be treated differently. You will return him to his family, unharmed after I am pregnant & You don't need to understand some things, so don't question me."

Minister Hu blinked, his brain trying to process, But he did not dare question her authority as he had already seen how evil a kind looking queen is.

"Yes, Your highness. Whatever you order," he replied, with respect.

Zhang Lian's expression somewhat eased. She said, her smile somewhat threatening, "And if this plan works and I have children with spiritual roots, I'll share them with your daughters or granddaughters in the future too."

"Think about your kids or grandkids developing into successful Cultivator's. They might return with treasures that increase your lifespan."

"Their appropriate development, respect & love towards you and ability to withstand the harsh realities of cultivation could be a key for you to live hundreds of years, if not longer."

Minister Hu experienced a surge of excitement upon hearing that he might be able to live 100's of years.

Zhang Lian went on, her voice low and seductively sinister. "I've even heard rumors that powerful cultivator's that they can grant immortality to their people or even bring them back from the dead, as long as their strength is great enough."

His imagination raced with ideas of a future in which he could attain unthinkable longevity and power, and his eyes became wide.

"I... I understand, Your Highness," his voice filled with excitement. "I will do as you ask."

"Good," Zhang Lian replied, moving her chair back with an elegant movement and lastly She said "and also you are going to bring this no.1 boy to the palace by tomorrow."

"Inform his relatives that he is invited by the queen or Give them money or whatever is necessary. Just make sure it works, and without raising any issues, bring him here."

Minister Hu nodded, "Understood, Your Highness," he replied.

With elegance, Zhang Lian stood up, her long silk robe spilling over the chair, its luxurious fabric gently shining in the room's low light. Her white long hair gently moved at her back.

Attracted by her beauty, Minister Hu found his mind racing, unable to concentrate on anything but the majestic beauty of the queen in front of him.

Cat, remained close by, gently flailed its wings and followed after her. Its tiny, dark figure followed her as she moved toward the door.

Zhang Lian walked towards the door and opened it and as the door opened. Lan, and her guards were waiting for her outside.

The guards & maid jumped to attention as soon as the door opened, straightening their bodies as they got ready to escort their queen.

As Zhang Lian made her way down the long corridor, They followed silently behind her. They just did their duty; none of them dared to ask questions, whey she came late.

---

The guard at the door stepped forward right away and opened it for Zhang Lian when she arrived at her room.

As the queen entered, her maid Lan came inside shortly after her. With a gentle bang, the door shut behind them, enclosing them in the rooms. The guards were still stationed outside, always on the lookout.

Lan's gaze followed the queen, not needing instructions because she understood exactly what was going to happen next.

She had done this pattern multiple times before, and even though she had grown used to it, she didn't find it enjoyable. She sighed inwardly as she realized how boring it was all.

Why was she the one who had to take off the queen's clothes every night? She can't make requests of other maids.

Zhang Lian walked into the room and came upon a huge mirror resting atop a beautifully crafted table.

The polished surface had a candle creating gentle shadows that flowed throughout the room. The only sound in the silent, quiet room was the soft flicker of the candles, which gave the room an almost peaceful vibe.

Zhang Lian gave Lan a calm sign to start by slowly raising her arms. As usual, Lan went straight up to the queen without waiting for commands.

Lan took a step nearer and reached for the queen's thick gold necklace, sighing softly to herself. Her fingers moved fast as she unclasped the necklace, which glowed in the dim light.

Lan observed, irritated, as Zhang Lian's heavy necklace came loose. Pretending to be respectful, she placed it carefully on the nearby table, but deep down, she couldn't give a damn about the queen's jewelry.

While Zhang Lian remained still, she was anything but idle. Zhang Lian's attention switched to the Cat, that flew around her.

"Now tell me why we shouldn't kidnap that kid," she asked in English, her tone calm but full of curiosity.

Working quietly, Lan heard the queen taking care of herself, but because she was getting used to it now, she didn't give a damn and kept pulling things out.

She continued to find it unusual despite this. Lan rolled her eyes inwardly, thinking, There she goes again. speaking to herself.

Cautiously, Lan took off the queen's earrings, but her focus was elsewhere.

The cat said in a casual tone "Didn't I tell you, nya?"

"Nya, heaven has blessed that boy." Whatever you do, he is bound to become a cultivator. Attempting to block his path will result in terrible consequences.

The heavens have gifted him with the special physics and you can't just block his path nya, and if you try to stand in his way, it may bring catastrophe for the entire kingdom, not just for you."

While Cat was speaking, Lan's fingers made slow movements toward Zhang Lian's belt, loosening the complex knot & removing the belt.

Revealing Zhang Lian's shoulders covered exposing her beautiful, white skin & her private parts were covered with white garment.

Lan was annoyed by the robe as she had to fold and take care of it.

She always wondered why the queen wore such heavy clothes. She argued that if she was queen, she would have dressed comfortably.

She obviously has no idea that Zhnag Lian also finds these things annoying, but she must wear them since they reflect her authority and give a cold atmosphere to her subjects.

"Cat continues, But you can interfere if his luck doesn't grow quickly enough, or if your cultivation surpasses his,"

Cat said again, the tone now more peaceful. "Right now, his luck is still in its earliest stages, but it will grow as he becomes more powerful. If you can suppress it early, then perhaps... but right now, as a mortal queen, you can't control someone who's been blessed by Heaven."

Zhang Lian nodded slowly, her sharp mind taking in every detail. "I see," she murmured. "Then I won't interfere with his path—at least not for now." Zhang Lian calmly analyzed Cat's words.

Lan, however, was focused only on getting the job done. She slowly removed the robe, careful not to let the fabric touch the floor, though she was half-tempted to let it drag just to annoy the queen.

As the layers of her clothing were pulled away, Zhang Lian maintained her posture and stood straight with no shame of being in her undergarments.

After some thought Zhang Lian's mind shifted. Her eyes looked at the cat, and her voice became more serious . "What about Minister Hu?" she asked.

"Do you have a way to ensure his loyalty? I can't have him revealing my plans, even if he's threatened with death or torture. I need to make sure that he doesn't say anything. I need complete control over him."

Lan thought, at the end I'm the one folding it, as always, where do Fei Ling and xiao yu even go.

She put the heavy dress on the table & Lan went to get the queen's lighter robe—the one she normally wore in her room or backyard.

As she turned to head toward the wardrobe, her thoughts wandered.

Cat, meanwhile, at the mention of control, replied, "Of course, Nya!"

"I have just the solution. Let me show you how to make sure Minister Hu never betrays you—no matter what happens."

While Lan went to get the queen's robe.

Cat opened the system window

Soon, the system screen began to appear in thin air.
