I Am The Duke's Wife Again!

I got downstairs to find only Ryan. He was the only person present in the dining table. As I looked at him, nothing was abnormal about his facial expression. He was acting as usual, cool and cold, thorough and thorough. Regardless, I knew what I had to do. My mission was to ask for caps, and as a man of military, he must have had one, right?

"Good morning", I said. He didn't even look up from the plate in front of him, and he didn't even say anything.

So I continued and cleared my throat, " Ahem, I was wondering if you would..."

"we leave in five minutes," he said suddenly.

" Oh, Okay. But I'm looking for caps." I said

" Pardon?" He asked almost choking on his food but quickly masked it by drinking water. It was shocking because women weren't generally seen wearing caps.

"I know that going to the military must be hard, and I was wondering if you could lend me some caps. I believe that I will need them, please, if you have." I clarified.

"Oh. Okay. Fine, alright. Okay, enjoy your breakfast." I said turning back, going back to my room.

As I was leaving, he said, "you should come back and have breakfast too, I doubt you'll have any once we get there."

"alright, thank you, noted." I was low key mad. He just did not want to lend me his caps.

I went back to my room and tried to pack as much as I could. Sooner than later, I had a knock on my room, and then I was told, "it's nine o'clock, it's time to leave", he said from the outside.

" If you are one minute late, I'm leaving." He was an impatient man

I hurriedly closed my bag and left my room in a rush. There was nothing more I could possibly do.

I rushed to the carriage where I found that he was already in the carriage. He wasn't even going to help me get into the carriage! Luckily, one of his attendants was close to the door.

" Do you need help, milady?" he asked

" Yes, please. That would be great." I replied with a gentle smile.

I know that I shouldn't have accepted his help but then again, but what can I say I was a little bit spiteful after he did not want to give me the caps I asked for.

Before I could get put my hand in his, Ryan said, " Liam, go take my case. I left it in the study."

" Yes, Master.Let me quickly help the lady-"

" Already, sir." and Liam ran quickly back to the house.

I was left there stranded with my hand mid-air. What a jerk!

Although it was my in take at the military today, I couldn't wear anything comfortable until I was directly at the military because out side here, i was still a lady and I needed to appear in public like one with a gown and heels.
