Jian Xu was a playful teenager. Being the prodigy of his outlandish village, secluded by any sect's protection, he was their hero and knew every little part about every little thing that could contribute even a little to his performance. Not more than fifteen even knew there was Qi. There were less than five who could harvest it, Jian being one of them.
Naturally, he was a showoff. Never did he realize that showing off was dangerous, especially when he was so good at absorbing such a powerful energy.
"Where are you..." said a suited man, as his jet black shoes tapped against the ground whilst he walked. Jian was sure to be quiet, thinking of what of the only three Qi Modification techniques he knew to use on the man.
The man resonated a feeling of humanity. He'd never felt it before, and it sure wasn't the good type. The element that mortals would always possess no matter their backstory was no guilt. This man could later return as a dying man and plead to Jian for help.
Jian runs out of his hiding spot, and threw his leg towards them, kicking the suited man. The suited man was stunned, but Jian took no delay, striking the man several times. The man smirked, and began dodging.
Finally, the man threw his fist at top speed, air resistance taking no toll on the man's incredible form of punching. Jian quickly clapped. Instantaneously, the man's body seemingly turned into rubber, imprints of Jian's previous attacks taking form on the man's skin.
The man sighed as blood seeped from his nose, and from his waist, grabbed his sword. Light shaped into slashes appeared before Jian, and one went towards him, cutting a shallow cut. Afterwards, the other lights followed in quick succession, and Jian stood there, before he collapsed to the ground.
...
(A/N: Jian Xu POV)
I awoke to the cold embrace of metal surrounding me. It was frigid. My movement was minimized by the cuts on my body. I cannot move the muscles on my face. It remains weak. I wonder maybe if I hadn't been such a showoff if my village would still be alive.
Whoever that man is, I WILL kill him when I get out. I can wait many days, months, years, but I will never succumb.
I get up from the ground, weakly pushing myself up. I find scraps of food on a table with a note. I don't bother to read the note. Since that man is a cultivator, all I must do is cultivate too. I eat a bit of the scraps, then begin cultivating. This place is dense with Qi.
My vitality comes back as I take in the energy. The air surged around me as I sense a set of Qi in the air highly compacted, likely Qi dispersed by someone. This makes sense to me, so I continue absorbing the Qi, each droplet of it revitalizing me.
The moment I absorb the set of Qi that may have been dispersed, I take notice that they did not revitalize me. Instead, from within my Hesen, my second heart that contains the Qi I gather, something like thorns pierces through it, and I can feel it. It's almost like a nonexistent pain, but due to my intensive sense of Qi, I spit immediately, gasping for air.
Someone walks into the dark place I am in, and as light hits me for the first time in so long, my eyes blur. As my vision returns, I look around, quickly trying to identify where I am. I find that there are metal bars in front of me, and behind me, a grey, horribly kept wall. I realize I am in a cell.
As the figure gets closer, I finally attempt to burst out all my Qi, just to be stopped by the figure, who grabs my hand and pulls me towards the bars.
Anger boils up within me. Any moment now, I'd go berserk. A feminine voice mocks me. I can now see the figure.
A curvy, beautiful woman. Her blue eyes seem to be sprinkled with stars. She wears a buttoned shirt that barely can resist her bulging "body". A small gap is left between the cloth after and before every button on that part of her body. Her hair is blue like the sea, and weaved into a ponytail. Her laugh is genuine, showing her amusement at my suffering.
If she had not attacked me, this could have ended up a different way. But, for now, I'll manipulate her with Li Wei's technique.
(A/N: Omniscience POV)
"That hurt!" he said, childishly as he pouted.
Her face suddenly changed to a dark and cold expression. She walked towards the door, and he quickly realized her intentions on hurting him. As she stepped in, she wasted no time, flinging her hand horizontally to strike him on his side, but he jumped backwards.
He dodged one of her attacks, a alert expression showing on his face. As she noticed this, a smile crept back on her face. She was sadistic.
Her movements became sloppier as her smile widened to the point Jian could predict them easily. He threw her fist, and she was barely able to dodge, but he did not pull back yet. He pulled onto her, and swung her towards the wall.
She completely stopped smiling. Two knifes appeared in her hands, prompting him to block. Her swings were endless, as she continued going like some machine. By now, her unfamiliar material based knifes had carved their way deep in his skin.
Finally, he went berserk. Instead of dodging, he waited for the correct moment to grab her face and pull it into the ground. Before she could get up, he raised his leg, stomping her head so powerfully that she died on impact. He grabbed her knifes, and lodged them into the wall as he completed the task.
After that, he began cultivating. Without the set of Qi, the Qi in the area swarmed to him. After recovering after the fight, he fell asleep.
The man who brang him there entered with a bunch of other people, coming to mock him. The moment he saw the corpse laying there, his face distorted into a undeniably fearful face. "What in the hell has Kang done! He fed Li to the captive of Yunxi Village! We are surely dead! Jamien will surely execute us!" cried one of the men. This man got on his knees and began crying, realizing their boss's crush had been executed using a captive.
Gorgen, the man who began crying, got up, and stopped crying, punching Kang immediately. "Now that we are witnesses, we are dead! I should kill you now!" Gorgen's fist almost hit Kang, but in a moment's notice, Kang cut the stomach of Gorgen immediately, and dashed away. The other men chased after him, yelling that Kang had killed Miss Li and shown them it so they would suffer. This caused 23 to trail him, while 20 others watched him, reporting every corner and turn he took while attempting to escape.
The sky laughed in response, thunder that happened every 15 seconds appearing. Rain began to blur the vision of the reporters that had told where he was. Eventually, Kang had escaped. Kang stealthily had traced a abnormal circle, and returned without anyone knowing, and took Jian, leaving him in the capital as he continued sprinting away.
Kang sniffled as he reflected on his job, but it turned to laughter. He'd tried to lure Li the day before to make her his, but she rejected him, and forced him to allow her to hit him, else, he'd tell the boss.
He did not hold any value for Jian. He just wanted a disruption, to show he was an asset that no one could just abandon and expect everything to be alright. Even if Jian stayed, he'd just be tortured. Kang on the other hand, was set to be executed if he had even slightly pushed Li.
Jian still did not awaken, although air had rushed around as Kang ran at speeds Jian could not reach even if he was being chased by some undefeatable spirit.
