I ran through the forest on all four legs. Each one shifted to be the same length, and sheltered from the whipping branches of the underarms by which black fur. I was on the hunt again today. My pack had ordered the death of the goblin pack as they encroached on our territory.
More specifically they invaded my brother... the alphas farm. I could hear even now the calls of my people as we rushed through the forest as one. United in our conquest. I let a howl rip through me as I reached the top of the ridge above the camp. Only to see some creature.... some flying person I. The moonlight.
Their silver hair glinting and flapping about as they dance a dance of death. Arrows zipping past them, their laughter in-between bouts of words that shook the sky and earth.
It was the most beautiful catastrophe that I have ever seen.
Elemental lightning, ice, fire, blood... the surrounding chaos shouldn't have been possible by any magical entity on this side of the continent. I called out to my pack a great and sonorous howl. It was immediate retreat. If the goblins were being dealt this hand. Then there is no reason for us to even be here.
I stood there bearing witness to the event so that I could relay it to my brothers and sisters of the moon. A silver winged entity with five tails and horns that glint in the moonlight with a voice of silver and honey that I tones death from above.
Then the flash of light as the goblins clearly lost control over whatever profane ritual compulsion had taken over them today. The result of their greivous error was a cascading explosion that began at their shrine and soon consumed the entire village.
I expected the creature to fly away at this point it's job done. Instead it began to sing a song... a hymn really of love. It was sad at first but as it grew to its crescendo the fire died down and grass began to grow throughout the camp... then bright blue flowers that practically thrummed with magic. The creature landed and did something even stranger. It began to gather the bodies. It's large tails, that were really more like tentacles from my point of veiw began to dig through the rubble with precision and grace removing the bodies and gathering them up.
It seemed to take more care with the children of the goblins then with the adults themselves. Even though it had slain them all. It placed them next to each other one by one until there were over 150 bodies next to each other. Then it sang a different song. It made noises that a humanoid shouldn't be able to make and the bodies disintegrated into beautiful blue lights that slowly blinked out one by one.
I couldn't believe it when the creatues gathered the remaining ears and gear of the goblins into a bag no bigger then a hand purse and flew off in the direction of the city.
That's when I felt a sense of dread flood my mind. It was headed directly for my brother's farm. I didn't know I could move as fast as I began to move. I had to get there. I had to at least try to save him from this monster made flesh. This temptress of great and terrible wrath.
The others fell in line behind me. Making their presence known. They were all ready. Even if we were heading to our deaths. We arrived at the edge of the farm just in time to see the silver haired witch knock on my brothers door.
I could hear them from here and only when the words, " I have completed the requested extermination" came out of their mouth did I stop. This beautiful terror was wrought apon the goblins by my brothers hand. No... by some quest put out by the very adventuring guild that I myself had been apart of for months. A monster had come to town.
A moment longer they looked in our direction then began to walk to town.
" Torr... should we pursue?" Mikela my right hand asked.
" Absolutely not. To pursue that... would be the end of our pack. I must alert my brother. " I said as I stroke towards his house.
I stopped on the porch, unable to enter due to the horseshoe cast in silver and nailed to the porch. My brother strolled out though to greet me.
" hello torr... what brings the pack by?"
" Woof... " I said unsure of where to begin....
" A beautiful catastrophe..."
