Aiden must have had some insane hold over me. There must have been some invisible string pulling us together, because that was the only way I could think of to explain why I followed him and his assistant to... I didn’t even know where we were headed!
I couldn't believe I was actually doing this. Trailing behind Aiden like some sort of spy, my heart pounding with every step. We were headed to a campground on the outskirts of town, to meet this ‘mystery woman’ who was claiming to be me!
Funny enough, I was eager to know who this woman was, look her in the face and figure out if she was just a pathological liar, or clinically insane.
“How did you find this woman anyway? Did she reach out to you?” I asked, trying to keep my voice casual.
Aiden glanced back at me, his eyes unreadable. “Ethan found her.”
“I gathered as much,” I nodded, nearly tripping over a rock. And even though they couldn’t see, I was still embarrassed. “But why do you think she’s the woman from that night?”
