My heart pounded erratically as I stood across from Aiden, struggling to maintain composure. I couldn't bring myself to meet his eyes, not with the way he was staring at me. It was as if I was the sunshine in his life, like I meant the world to him. Aiden’s presence was magnetic, and at that moment, it felt like the air between us was charged with something unspoken yet incredibly powerful.
"Claire? Claire?" Aiden's confused voice broke me out of my daydream. That's when I realized I had to reject him.
Looking into his warm eyes that felt like liquid pools, I couldn't even bring myself to utter a word. We were acting, sure, but how could I reject him?
"Cut!" The director all but yelled. He was right to be frustrated. Just as Aiden finally got into character, I went out of character.
Behind the monitoring screen, Daisy was giving me a dirty look, one that screamed, "Oh, you've got it bad, huh?" I rolled my eyes at her.
