Mysterious Existence

The serpent was slowly crawling toward Alex, its eyes fixed on its target. Unaware of the danger behind him, Alex remained oblivious to the massive serpent aiming for his life.

The serpent was massive, even larger than the Ancient Snake. Its sheer size made it impossible to move without making noise, no matter how stealthy it tried to be.

Alex immediately turned around and froze for a second. Standing before him was a massive creature, a hybrid of a dragon and a snake. Most striking of all was its size, it towered at an astonishing 45 meters tall.

Alex's body instinctively turns away and quickly starts running by itself. Pure Adrenaline pushed Alex beyond what his body could handle.

[Quick Dash has been activated!]

Whenever he had to make huge leap, he was using the skill. Alex's eyes were glaring at each and every tree and where to land his feet, like a wild animal. 

And whenever he sees a huge root, he uses quick dash to enhance his speed even more. Alex was moving like the literal wind itself.

Despite his stamina running out, Alex's pace didn't seem to slow down at all.

Alex was in the Zone!

He comes across an old huge tree blocking his path, he swings his fist and pierces through the object. Alex didn't feel any pain at all even though his fist was bleeding.

Alex was running at 40 kilometers per hour and his speed was further amplified by the quick dash skill. 

But everything comes at a cost, this time it was vitality. With his vitality already being at an edge, the rate at which he was running was consuming a whole lot.

Alex immediately looses consciousness. 

An hour passed by -

Alex was still sleeping almost as if dead. The forest was completely silent and peaceful.

Soon, a huge toad jumped straight towards Alex's face. Startled, Alex threw it off immediately and worriedly looked around. "Did the serpent catch me?'"

Alex snaps back and calms down. "Phew, it was just my imagination"

Coming back to his normal sense, Alex now finds himself again in another mysterious place. The place looked a little healthier than it ever was, there were some grasses here and there and some unique flowers and mushrooms were all over the place. 

Alex had already ran far enough but he was still somewhat skeptical. He started wandering around the unknown forest extremely cautiously. 

'It hasn't even been 3 days and I encountered two Giant Snakes, the kind you only hear about in fairytales. Not even a Python or an Anaconda is half as large as those two. The Spider is one thing, while the Dragon's existence itself is the most shocking. Just what kind of place have I come to?'

Soon, he spotted an enormous tree about 400 kilometers away. It was so tall it seemed to touch the clouds, with branches so vast they appeared to stretch endlessly.

Four mysterious beings were flying around the tree. He couldn't see them properly since it was very far, even his sage eyes could hardly help, but at a glance, one would conclude it was the Dragons. 

Alex gulps down his saliva. For the first time he felt genuine fear. If that one Dragon could scare the Ancient Snake, with four of them it would be extremely dangerous. I don't know if the Dragons hate humans or not, but I'm not taking any stupid risk. 

'So what if I was mysteriously teleported to this dangerous place? I won't die that easily,' Alex thought, a sudden surge of pride swelling within him.

Alex turns back to where he came from, while staring at those mysterious creatures flying for one last time.

'With the help of this system I'm gonna make myself so strong that I won't have to fear any beings in this ridiculous world.'

"Let's find the sword first, my strength stat needs a lot of work to do first".

Alex's eyes widened once again upon seeing the ridiculous jump in Agility. "Oh ya I forgot that I'm almost gonna be Level 2 as well."

"And the best way to become a Level 2 is by defeating the rabbits. Once I catch it I would finally see a glimpse of me surviving in this strange world."

Alex starts warming up, hopping around and swinging his fist as if he was gonna go on a boxing match against the rabbit. While still being cautious of his surroundings, Alex searches for his 1 day long rival. 

While on his way, he finds a place full of mushrooms, they looked very clean and in good shape. Of course Alex wasn't dumb enough to get sold by its appearance and simply decided to ignore it.

But, he was hungry after overworking his body. 'I still have poison resistance so I won't die easily at least, but if I meet any monsters in the process, I'm afraid it would be a disaster.'

"So should I risk it? Is it worth the risk?"

While Alex was over thinking, he saw a pretty sturdy tree. He picks up the mushrooms and uses dash skill to reach to the tree's tip.

The mushrooms looked like marshmallows but right upon eating it, the system reminded him of poison. It actually tasted good. For the first time in a while, Alex tasted something tasty.

He turned back to the mushrooms, jumped down from the tree, and ate them all. A few minutes later, not a single mushroom remained.

Alex couldn't find any more mushrooms in the area and since he wasn't hungry anymore, he simply left the place. 

Something revolutionary happened the moment his poison resistance skill leveled up.

All his stats increased by 5+

He wasn't sure why it happened or how, but sooner or later he would figure it out.

Alex now felt more confident than ever to face the rabbits. 

From a mile away, his Sage Eyes activated on its own, and he suddenly spotted a rabbit running past his vision. Even his Sage Eyes had become faster and more powerful, and the same was true for his other skill, Quick Dash.

In less than a minute, Alex was close to the rabbit. Before it could even react, he grabbed it by the neck. The rabbit, however, had sharp claws and swung them at Alex. Fortunately, his reflexes had significantly improved, he releases the rabbit just in the nick of time and dodges its attack. 

Once the rabbit was free he started running away extremely fast, even faster than Alex. That is when Alex realises that rabbits were just playing around with him earlier, this current rabbit was running at 150 kilometers per hour. It was extremely fast. What if this was the average speed of rabbits?

"I never had a chance" Alex just laughs at himself.

Exhausted, Alex sat down near a tree. Above him, a normal size snake rested on a branch. As soon as it sensed his presence, it lunged at him. Alex reacted quickly, grabbing it by the neck, not because he feared the poison, but out of caution. A prey? Or food? he wondered.

Alex finally levels up! That too through the very thing that he hated.
