Thud-thud-thud-
The regular sound of a knife chopping echoed from the kitchen.
It was the sound of Yeoreum preparing snacks for the children.
She planned to give fish snacks to Gyeoul and Saebyeok, and carrot sticks to Levinas.
Just as Yeoreum reached for the carrot next to the cutting board,
"Uwaaang."
Somewhere, Gyeoul cried.
It wasn't real crying, but more like a whiny tone.
'Gyeoul?'
Did something happen to Gyeoul?
Yeoreum stopped cooking and moved towards where she felt Gyeoul's presence.
'By the shoe rack?'
Three children were standing in front of the shoe rack, tightly holding each other's hands.
It was a scene so adorable it made anyone watching feel warm inside.
Levinas jumped for joy, while Saebyeok, expressionless, vigorously wagged her tail.
Only Gyeoul was on the verge of tears.
"Gyeoul, what's wrong?"
"Seeee..."
Gyeoul raised her hands.
A transparent solution was smeared on the hands of the children holding each other.
As Yeoreum identified the solution, she saw that Levinas was holding a tube of glue.
"Could that possibly be..."
"I sprayed this, and now our hands are stuck..."
"Oh dear."
The children must have been playing with glue.
Yeoreum grabbed her head, pretending to be serious, but Levinas just smiled innocently.
"Yeoreum! Hold Levinas's hand here!"
"You want our hands to stick?"
"Yeah! This is amazing! The hands won't come apart!"
Levinas shook Gyeoul's hand back and forth.
Following this movement, Gyeoul's body swayed weakly.
"Um... You shouldn't play with this glue. It's dangerous."
"What?! Isn't it fine as long as you don't get it in your eyes or eat it?!"
"Uh, yes, that's true but..."
She did follow the instructions.
It was hard to scold her now.
After all, it was Yeoreum who told Levinas the glue was harmless.
Pffft
Yeoreum exhaled the air she had been holding in her mouth.
Facing her, Gyeoul extended her hands stuck together forward.
"How do we detach this...?"
"That..."
Removing the glue wasn't particularly difficult.
Magic or a specially made solution could do the job, and sitting for three hours would naturally dissolve it.
Yet, Yeoreum kept her mouth shut tight for the sake of the children.
She intended to scare them a bit so they wouldn't play with dangerous things again.
"This is a big problem."
"Why, why...?"
"Once this glue sticks, it never comes off. Didn't you read the instructions?"
"The instructions...?"
Gyeoul's gaze shifted to the tube of glue in Levinas's hand.
The text about a broken greatsword being fixed with just glue entered Gyeoul's view.
"See the picture in the instructions? It's glue that can easily fix a heavy greatsword. And Gyeoul, you applied it to your hands. Looks like you'll have to live like this forever?"
"This can't be..."
Thump-
Gyeoul fell forward, collapsing to the ground.
The two children whose hands were stuck to Gyeoul's fell forward with her.
Together, they looked adorably like a single being.
Yeoreum couldn't help but let out a chuckle.
"That's why you shouldn't play with glue."
Poke-poke.
Yeoreum poked the nose of the collapsed Gyeoul.
Each poke made her drooping ears perk up.
'Oh my.'
What on earth is this?
The moment Yeoreum smiled with her eyes at Gyeoul, Levinas raised her hand sharply.
"It was Levinas who did it?!"
"Is, is that so?"
"Yes! Levinas sprayed glue all over her hands!"
"I see..."
Well, it was too extreme of a prank for Gyeoul.
Yeoreum scratched her cheek, feeling awkward.
Even then, Gyeoul was in a state of despair.
"Levinas... We have to live like this forever..."
"Wow!"
Contrary to Gyeoul's gloomy demeanor, Levinas seemed to be in a good mood.
The thought of being stuck together forever seemed to make her happy.
Maybe she's too young to understand the seriousness of the situation.
Gyeoul decided to share a shocking truth with Levinas.
"...If our hands are stuck together, we can't play with Animal King cards or play hide and seek anymore?"
"What!"
Levinas's ears shot up.
She looked up at Yeoreum with her mouth wide open, with an expression asking if it was really true.
"Gyeoul is right. Levinas, you won't be able to play hide and seek for the rest of your life?"
"What, what do we do then...? Isn't there a way...?"
"There is a way, but..."
The fact that there was a way made Gyeoul and Levinas's ears perk up.
Saebyeok, as if indifferent to everything, just wagged her tail.
"Tell Levinas the way!"
"Hmm... Yu-na probably knows a way?"
"Really!"
"Yes."
Yeoreum specifically mentioned Jung Yu-na as a form of punishment and to share their cute state with other people.
Honestly, the latter reason was bigger.
Such an adorable sight was too precious for her to enjoy alone.
"I, I'll go out and come back then...!"
"Okay. Yu-na is probably in the conference room on the first floor."
"Uh... When does the meeting end?"
"You can go in now. It's not that important of a meeting."
"Ah! Yes!"
Gyeoul, now energized, ran to the front door.
Since she couldn't open the door, Saebyeok opened it for her.
"Hehe."
They're just too cute.
Yeoreum finally let out the laughter she had been holding back after the children left.
<+>
First floor conference room.
As we approached the door, Levinas dragged her feet as if hitting the brakes.
Naturally, those of us with our hands stuck together had to stop in our tracks.
"King, is this my fault...?"
"Well... it is a mistake, but it happened because you didn't know any better."
"Is, is that so... I'm sorry..."
I tried to pat the disheartened Levinas on the head, but it was hard with our hands stuck together.
Instead, I wrapped Levinas's wrist with my tail.
"It's okay. Honestly, I'd like to be stuck with Levinas forever."
"Wow! How can you think the same as Levinas!"
Levinas, pleased with my words, started hopping around.
Her jumping was so vigorous I had to move our hands up and down to accommodate.
"Shall we go in now?"
"Yeah."
Knock-knock-knock-
Saebyeok knocked on the door for us.
The voice that responded from inside belonged to the Guild Master.
"Come in."
"Yes..."
A meeting with the Guild Master must be very important, right?
While Gyeoul hesitated, Saebyeok opened the door and entered the conference room.
Inside were quite a few familiar faces seated.
The Guild Master, Choi Jinhyuk, and Jung Yu-na were also present.
"Came in holding hands? What happened?"
Jung Yu-na greeted us with a kind smile.
I extended our stuck hands towards her.
"Our hands got stuck..."
"Huh...?"
The people in the meeting turned their gaze towards our hands.
Some burst out laughing, while others looked at our hands with serious expressions.
"Oh my."
Jung Yu-na got up from her conference room chair and approached us.
The Master and Choi Jinhyuk also came closer.
"Did you stick them together with glue?"
"Yes..."
Hmm.
The Master examined us and then pulled out a piece of chocolate from his pocket and offered it to us.
I tried to receive it politely with both hands, but couldn't because our hands were stuck.
"Open your mouth."
Was he telling us to eat the chocolate like this?
Though the situation was weird, I had no intention of disobeying the Master.
"Ah."
As I looked up and opened my mouth, the Master placed the chocolate inside.
I felt like a baby bird receiving food.
"Wha! Give Levinas chocolate too!"
Aaaaah.
Levinas looked up and made an "Ah" sound.
Watching Levinas, Saebyeok did the same, looking up and making an "Ah" sound.
"You two have a hand..."
The Master started to say something but then closed his mouth.
He simply quietly placed chocolates in our mouths.
"Oh my."
Jung Yu-na blushed as she watched the children eat the chocolate.
Covering her mouth with her hand, her dimples revealed she was smiling.
"The Master is stingy."
"...You do it then."
"Should I?"
Jung Yu-na, after receiving the chocolate from the Master, approached us.
Seeing her intent to put chocolate in our mouths, all three of us opened up.
'We need to get our hands unstuck...'
Tasting the chocolate entering our mouths, we watched Jung Yu-na closely.
At my serious expression, Jung Yu-na let out an "Oops."
"Um... about the hands being stuck..."
"...We can unstick them, but the preparation will take about an hour. Can you stay here until then? Is that okay?"
An hour was nothing.
Better than being stuck forever.
As I wagged my tail in relief and looked up at Jung Yu-na,
The Master frowned and looked at Jung Yu-na.
"An hour? That long..."
"Master."
"...Do as you please."
The Master waved his hand in acknowledgment.
Jung Yu-na smiled with her eyes at the Master.
What does he mean, 'do as you please'?
Confused by the situation, I just alternated my gaze between the two.
"Gyeoul, can you endure an hour? If it's too hard, I can make it quicker."
"It's okay. I'm used to not using my hands."
"Huh? Used to not using your hands?"
"I've broken my hand so many times, it's okay if I can't use it for a while."
From getting hit or falling down steep hills.
There were many instances in my life where I couldn't use my hands.
Compared to those times, not being able to use my hands for just an hour was nothing.
It hardly inconvenienced me now.
"Uh..."
My words seemed to alarm Jung Yu-na, turning her pale.
The expressions of those in the conference room also didn't look good.
Even the always stoic Master.
'What?'
In this world, isn't that normal?
Why are they looking so serious?
"...?"
Despite my puzzled look, no one spoke up.
Nom-nom-
Only the sound of Levinas eating chocolate filled the room.
