Master doesn't like distance between us

The day went smoothly. As the sun disappears behind the mountains welcoming the arrival of a sweet evening, Soren manages to drag Zale down for dinner.

"Do you think they will be more scared of me now?" Zale asked wearily, trudging down beside Soren.

'What do you think? Soren halts to look at him, "No, they won't. They don't hate you if that's what is bothering you and on top of that, they definitely aren't scared of you. Come to think of it, they all care for you....okay." Soren tried his best to fabricate his expressions.

Zale nods and Soren offers a small smile flatting his lips slightly.

"Let's go now."

At the dining table, the dinner was already served nicely for them, they just had to dig in now.

All of the servants did their best to stay as far away from Zale as possible. They locked their children in their room and forbade them from playing outside whenever Zale was outside of his room. Zale is aware of this, so he stays in his room most of the time, leaving only to eat or when Soren nags him. He doesn't want to make anyone feel threatened or uneasy by his presence.

As Soren places the food on Zale's plate, Frank, the head butler, stands beside them.

Soren noticed an extra plate set on the table when he couldn't hold it in, he asked.

"For whom is this extra plate for?"

"It's for-," the maid standing there started but was soon cut off by someone.

"For me obviously." A grinning face approaches them, running through the hall and into the dining area.

"You so-called idiots, who call me your friend, didn't invite me for dinner so I invited myself. Great, right?" Solace welcomes himself with a beaming face.

"Nothing great about that, it's just you and your shameless self." Zale grunts, irritated by his presence. For some reason, Zale wasn't a great fan of his presence.

"Well, jokes on you, everyone likes me because of my shameless self, right Soren?" The shameful self hugs Soren from behind, his arms circling around Soren's neck.

Zale's eyes followed his hands with burning eyes, wanting to cut those hands.

"They don't like you, they are just saving themselves so you don't leach on them." Zale rolls his eyes, picking his folk to eat his food.

"Nah, I call that art. Don't leave that person in peace until they start to like you on their own."

"But you lack a mind, so I would like to know how you use your ridiculous art," Zale billowed, eyeing his face that now rests on top of Soren's head.

"Now I'd love to tell my cruel ways but that would be dumb as I don't want anyone else besides me to know my incredible techniques."

"Don't know about your techniques but you are gonna get a punch if you don't stop your nonsense," Zale warned him positively.

"Oh, accept that you are just jealous of me because everyone loves me and not you. Here's the live proof, the maids and even Soren like me more than you. But I'm still upset that you didn't invite me."

"You weren't invited because we didn't want you here." Zale scowls.

"You-"

"Come on you guys, quiet down now. Solace, you are already here now, don't you? So stop sulking now." Soren shoves his hands away from himself. "Sit and eat quietly."

"Fine, only because you are asking nicely." Solace rambles sitting in the front chair of Zale.

"This looks so good. Ok, let's dig in, food here I come."

The three eat in silence after that. However, it seems as if the silence was making dinner as bland as food without salt.

"We are going to the beach this weekend, wanna tag along," Solace let out.

"Who are we?" Soren questioned taking a bite from his plate.

"Me, Sam, and Uncle Stephen."

Soren's vision turned to Zale firmly to ask his point at the suggestion of an outing which Zale shakes his head conspicuously but Soren catches it firmly.

"We are so sorry, Solace. I'm afraid we won't be available on the weekend. There's something Zale and I need to take care of it. But thanks for the offer though."

"Oh, well that's too bad, but since you are busy, nothing else can be done."

"Soren?" Behind them, a barely audible soft voice speaks. Both Soren and Zale returned their gaze to the source of the voice, but the difference in their expressions upon discovering who the voice belonged to was obvious.

Soren sets the food down and stands up to greet the visitor with a smile, while Zale grips the fork so tightly that it bands a little. When he saw Soren's expression, he felt sick to his stomach.

"Tomas," Soren greets the visitor with a friendly smile. Tomas, who was holding a one-and-a-half-year-old toddler, smiles back. "What brought you here? Is everything okay?"

Tomas is a twenty-four year old omega and the father of an adorable kid. His mate was killed by the rogues two years back. He was running from them with his unborn child when Soren saved him. After that Soren always helps him and his child whenever they need him. Now Tomas is a single parent who lives only for his son.

"Yeah, everything is fine," Tomas nods, making Soren's worries easy. Soren forgot about the dinner and walked to him. "I was wondering if you could accompany me to the ngo tomorrow? I have to deliver the books for the kids and it's difficult for me to drive in June with me."

Soren comes to a halt in front of him, looking at baby June, who is playing with his father's neck choker. Soren softly pats June's head, attracting the child's attention. Tomas could feel Soren's warmth and see the tenderness in his eyes for his child.

Another interesting fact about Tomas is that he has a crush on Soren.

"You don't need to come all the way here to ask. You could simply call." Soren lets out, briefly forgetting he was previously serving dinner to his master, who has severe anger issues and despises it when Soren is too far away from him.

"It's okay, my house wasn't far away, and June was also missing you, so I thought I could take him to meet you."

"Of course, I'll accompany you-" Soren began, but before he could finish he was cut off by the sharp clunk noise of the plate scattering on the floor. Everyone flinches and their heart comes into their throat.

"YOU'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!" Zale growled and the tone of his words did not leave any place of arguing. It's final.

One fact about Zale that everyone knows is that he hates omegas.

Pin-drop silence was filled with baby June's cries. Soren closed his eyes in frustration.
