"Now that I have successfully grabbed your attention, I'm your guest and will be living here, so shouldn't you greet me a bit respectfully and stop being a brat for a while?" Elinor's mouth's corner turned up.
"What are you saying, El?" Leo became agitated, and his concerns multiplied. "El, apologize right now."
El, on the other hand, smirked at the wolf. Zale glared at him through his angry eyes.
"So this is how one might catch your attention, huh? By making fun of you. I'm impressed."
"This is not the time, El. Stay silent and apologize. Please, I'm trying to make things work here." Leo let out agitatedly.
"Come on, Leo. What is the point of apologizing? What he's so arrogant about?" Elinor looked at the enraged Zale, whose ears, if it were possible, were blowing smoke.
"El, for god's sake, just stay quiet." Leo looked like he was going to have a panic attack.
"Get out!" Zale roared, and El grinned in return. "Uncle Frank, throw them out! They're not living here."
"Master Zale, calm down." Frank, who was also getting anxious about all this, tried to calm him down. He turned to the unwelcome guests and said, "Sir, you should watch your words carefully before speaking."
"Please accept my apologies on his behalf. It will never happen again. Please, just listen to us and let us live here. He's just tired and doesn't understand what he's saying, he's sorry for offending you, right El?" Leo apologized repeatedly.
"No, I'm not," El let out cheekily. "It's not our fault that he has difficulty interacting with people who have manners."
"Shut the fuck up! And get the hell out of here before I throw you out with dislocated bones!" Zale enraged and came up in front of El. He doesn't want Soren to see him losing his mind again.
The height difference was at least one foot, but that didn't intimidate El in the slightest.
"You can't throw us out," El smirked. "We don't know much but enough to tell that this house doesn't belong to you but to your father and you can't go against him. You seem like you don't have guts."
Zale had enough with him. He struck his hand towards El and strangled El's neck, giving it a tight squeeze, making him gag.
"Not a single word I want to come out of this filthy mouth of yours."
Both Frank and Leo ran towards him to stop him from choking El to death.
"Master Zale, let go of him. You are suffocating him!"
"Mr. Zale, release him, please!"
But Zale wasn't in his right mind and couldn't hear what was being said to him. He was still squeezing his neck.
"Stop, Zale, or you'll kill him." His wolf Sura also attempted but failed.
"Zale, Master." Frank attempted but failed to remove his hands from El.
'Soren, why aren't you here whenever we need you?' Frank thought.
But as if luck was on his side. When Zale couldn't regain control, he heard a chilling voice that made him at least loosen his grip a little.
"Zale!" Soren yelled angrily at the top of his lungs. Solace stood beside him, stunned by the scene in front of him.
"Get your hands off of him now."
Zale let go of El right away and took a few steps back. It wasn't difficult for him to realize that it wasn't Soren who had ordered him, but Zion, Soren's inner tiger, based on the changed color of Soren's eyes. It wasn't a good sign for him. He gulped unknowingly.
He could always sass his way through with Soren, but for some reason, he didn't stand a chance with Zion.
"What's going on here?" Zion inquired him, walking further into the hall.
Zion looked around for answers, but none of them spoke up.
Zale turned away from them, still enraged. His head was throbbing and he was breathing heavily. Elinor sat calmly on the couch, his neck still ached from the pain, but his features didn't reveal the impression.
Recognizing Soren from earlier, Leo appeared stunned but took a step forward.
"My name is Leonard Crux, and he is my cousin Elinor Crux, and we are both members of the Silver Night Pack. Many vulnerable species, such as rabbits and squirrels, live in our pack. Both of us are foxes."
Leo explained to everyone in the room. "I'm assuming you recall us from before."
"Yes, I know," Zion said before disappearing and handing control over back to Soren.
When Zion noticed Zale acting erratically and attempting to kill El, he seized control to stop him. Zale, more than anyone else, respect and feared Zion.
"May I ask why you're here and what happened between your cousin and Zale that got so heated that Zale almost strangled him?" Soren inquired, but Leo did not appear to be in a position to respond.
He had no idea what to expect from Soren, and he wondered if his reaction would be worse than Zale's.
