Soren lay in bed as Zale curled up in his arms lovingly, their heated warm bodies pressed together under the soft sheets. The night outside was calm, stars twinkling through the open window, casting a peaceful glow over the room.
Zale traced lazy circles on Soren's chest, his voice soft and playful as he spoke of their future.
"I've been thinking," Zale said, his tone filled with a quiet excitement which Soren adored, "when all of this is over…when we don't have to worry about Shilister or anyone else…I want us to have a house by the lake. A big one. With a garden." He smiled, lifting his head slightly from Soren's shoulder to look into Soren's eyes. "We can plant flowers together. But you have to promise me you'll be there every day, helping me."
Soren chuckled, making fun of him, his fingers trailing gently down Zale's spine as he kissed Zale's nose. "A garden? I didn't take you for a gardener, master."
