[V1/C2] WINDFALL

At exactly 11:37 am, the man who collapsed on the stony ground woke up.

Upon waking up, he touched his head where the damage was done to see if there were any injuries he received during his collapse, "Urgh...", after touching his head, Rey sighed in relief "Phew... Luckily there doesn't seem to be any bleeding at all."

Upon stabilizing his condition, Rey took a quick look at his hands filled with callouses. A few moments later, he carefully stood back up again; as he stood up, Rey then walked towards the edge of the crater, and there he saw a mysterious portal-like black hole floating in the middle of the volcano's mouth below and on top of the hardened magma.

Thinking back, Rey didn't seem to have seen any strange anomaly when he first took a glance at the crater, but now, there seemed to be a mysterious black-like portal leading to somewhere who knows where, while also exuding such a thick and dark aura which made Rey feel as if he's going to be devoured at any second just by simply looking at it.

Though he was at a high place and still far off from the anomaly, his mind kept telling him to run away.

As he watched the unknown portal in the middle of the crater, Rey took a huge loud gulp with his whole body trembling out of fear. The man just kept on shaking while profusely sweating, his bones screaming and his eyes already on the brink of fainting, his heart pumping like crazy.

Out of instinct, Rey hurriedly picked up his bag along with his ice axe and immediately took a run for it from the side of the crater; he circled halfway, trying to find a slope which he could safely descend from.

After running and looking around, he saw a small old wooden boat hanging from a small dead tree. "Why's a boat here?" He asked.

Searching again, upon making it halfway through the other edge, Rey saw a slope perfect for descent, but at the other end of said slope was a huge crevasse about 20 meters wide, reaching both ends of the slope.

Rey is now in turmoil as to what he'd do, "This is driving me nuts!" He said. Then a huge amount of magma splashed from the bottom center of the crater, surrounding the black portal. The magma that splashed reached a height where even Rey could vividly see it; upon splashing back and forth, it steadily formed a pillar of magma.

Rey, seeing the mysterious anomaly, thought, 'Holy Shit! What in the World's HAPPENING?!'. The man didn't watch how the situation would unfold from that moment on and continued to find a solution as to how to safely descend the slope. 'Think Rey! Think!!' then an idea came to mind, "Aha! This should work!."

The man then hurriedly went back to the old boat, leaving his belongings on the slope; he then frantically made a run for it, "Huff... Huff...!" Rey didn't notice that after the first magma pillar, there was another 7 magma forming into a pillar; upon careful inspection, it looked like a circular barricade.

As Rey found the old wooden boat, he removed the vines and hurriedly lifted the old wooden boat which weighed almost 2.5 tons without any paddles, however, strangely enough due to the urgent matter at hand he didn't notice the original weight of the boat, from his perspective it feels like he's just lifting a boat around 300-400 pounds. Luckily Rey has been working out for the past 2 years, so a boat this size and weight is a piece of cake for him.

The lone man on top of the mountain volcano's crater, wearing a simple black shirt, is simply struggling to make a decision; this decision of his will either end with his funeral or his survival.

After Rey successfully brought over the old wooden boat, he then packed up his belongings and simply placed them at the back end of the boat. Looking back once more, he saw the Eight Huge Pillars of Magma encircling the portal.

His eyes were wide open, shocked in awe, marvelling at such a phenomenon. Without hesitation, he looked back again at the bottom of the slope and the huge crevasse in the middle.

"Surely, I won't die today right...?" He shakingly said with fear of death in his eyes.

Without further ado, Rey pushed the old wooden boat halfway through the slope and hopped on. He then began shaking the wooden boat to slide towards the slope that is about 85 degrees in angle.

While the boat was being shaken by Rey, another explosion of magma arose, making him surprised. "SHIT!!" Due to the tremors, the boat successfully slid towards the slope at high speed.

"TOOOOO! FAST!!" he said as he screamed his lungs out with his mouth wide open and his skin looking flabby due to the strong current of wind. After successfully sliding through the slope, the moment of his survival hinges on the acceleration of the boat to beat the 20-meter crevasse with no telling how deep it will be if he falls through.

With just a few meters away, Rey shouted, "MOMMY!! PLEASE DON'T LET YOUR CHILD GO TO HEAVEN THIS EARLY!!!" as the boat passed through the last phase before meeting the edge of the crevasse, the man closed his eyes with tears flowing down his cheeks.

He started praying as the boat started to float in mid-air. "AMITABHA, LORD JESUS CHRIST, ANY GOD OUT THERE! PLEASE!" a second later, he opened his eyes, feeling as if the whole space suddenly stopped moving.

"What? Why isn't there any wind...?" He questioned. With his eyes wide open, Rey saw that he was still currently in mid-air. In shock, he made sure he wasn't dead so he looked below and saw the huge and deep crevasse beneath him.

"OH, FUCK! MOTHER OF GOD! I SWEAR I WAS A GOOD BOY!" he then closed his eyes once again and opened them to check if it was real. As Rey opened his eyes once more, he saw the same image earlier. "I'm floating!" he said with shock on his face; he then started laughing like a crazy lunatic due to the bewilderment, "Hahahaha... I must be dead....! There's no way I'm floating...!" To verify once more, he pinched his cheeks, and as he pinched it strongly with his left hand, he felt the immeasurable pain. "OUCH!!" he shouted in agony with a tear in his eyes.
