As Om smiled in the final moments of his life, he closed his eyes. Upon opening them, he found himself in what seemed like a dense forest.
Surrounded by the tranquil woods, Om wondered aloud, "Is this heaven? But it resembles a jungle. Have I perhaps entered hell? Yet, I've never committed any wrongdoings or sins, so surely this must be heaven. Well, if this is how heaven looks, then so be it. At least there's some peace here."
Suddenly, a voice from behind him interrupted, "Oh foolish child, neither is this heaven nor hell, and you're not dead. I've saved you from drowning, lad."
Turning around, Om saw an old man, perhaps in his 60s or 70s, dressed in simple attire with water in his hand. Om, with astonishment, exclaimed, "You saved me, Grandpa! But judging by your condition, it seems unlikely you saved me."
The elderly man, stroking his white beard, replied gently, "Son, you're not devoid of spiritual powers. Don't worry; you'll understand everything soon."
Confused, Om asked, "What are you talking about? Speak in simpler terms. And if you saved me, who said you did? I jumped into the sea on my own accord."
Listening to Om, the sage looked at him for a moment, then spoke with surprise, "Why, my son, life isn't easy for everyone. While troubles may be common, it's the difficulties that inspire one to live."
Om's expression shifted to sadness as he said, "Grandpa, you don't know... I've faced nothing but hardships since childhood. Yes, life brings troubles, but it also brings joys. Perhaps whoever created me forgot to write happiness in my destiny. Living brings me peace in dying."
The sage, with a tear in his eye, looked at Om and said, "No one knows your troubles better than I do, but you've never tried to explore your inner strengths."
Om was taken aback, "What inner strengths... What are you saying? And who are you, anyway?"
With a broad smile, the sage replied, "I know you well, Om, don't I? But let's discuss that later. For now, tell me, do you want to change your life?"
Taking Om's interest, the sage continued, "It's simple. Invest five years of your life into yourself. I assure you, after five years, you'll see a completely new and unbelievable Om."
Om, now intrigued, questioned, "But how is that possible?"
With a chuckle, the sage replied, "I'll tell you later. But for now, you're not ready to comprehend. You've only seen the superficial world, like playing with dolls."
Closing his eyes and extending his hand forward, the sage continued, "I know you well, but that's a story for another time. Take this book. It will help you unleash your inner powers. Just contribute your efforts. Understand, by not changing your life, you're killing the unsuccessful Om within you. Empty your mind, make it as serene as the cosmos, and focus on yourself. Experiment with the solutions in this book and create a brand-new Om, one more powerful than your thoughts."
Anshika had already received the news. Sitting somewhere with Anshika, her friend Seema, with a worried look on her face, said, "Did you hear? Anshu, Champu, jumped into the water and ended his life."
Anshika's arrogance was still high. She replied in her proud voice, "Huh! Finally, he must have realized that he's not worthy of me, and regretting his mistake, he must have ended his life out of shame. After all, I can't be accessible to everyone."
Seema knew Anshika was arrogant, but she couldn't care less about someone's plight. Seeing this, she was shocked and, with anger, exclaimed, "Enough! How much more arrogance will you show? Do you even have any idea what you've done? That boy was innocent, and he committed suicide. It wasn't for you; it was because of your humiliation yesterday. And according to that, you're a murderer of an innocent boy. But you can't see all this through your arrogant eyes. Your eyes are blinded by your pride. Remember my words, one day your arrogance will fall so low that you won't be anywhere."
After saying this, Seema gathered her belongings to leave, and Anshika just kept staring at her in shock. Seema had never spoken to her like this before. Just as Seema was about to leave, they overheard some boys talking nearby. They were the same boys who had orchestrated this with Om. They were talking, and among them was a thin boy named Neerav. He said, "Hey Mike, what have you done to that Champu? He ended his life."
Hearing Neerav's words, Mike got angry instantly and said, "What do you mean? I was just joking with him. Understand, I didn't ask him to end his life. So keep your gutter mouth shut and don't say this anywhere else, even by mistake."
Just then, another boy standing there said, "Yeah, but whatever happened, Champu was indeed Champu. He ended his life over such a small matter."
Listening to their conversation, Anshika and Seema heard it all and went towards them. As they approached, Seema, in anger, said, "You guys are despicable. You made an innocent boy die. I'm going to the police right away."
Suddenly, seeing Anshika and Seema, Mike panicked, but then quickly composed himself and started laughing. With a smirk, he said, "Why are you backing off? Although we joked, what will you tell the police? That I joked with Champu, and he ended his life? You were all just standing there, right? Hey, madam, listen to me. Champu ended his life because your two-faced friend humiliated him in front of everyone. And if the police are involved, I won't care, because I'll just go to jail, but your friend will surely have a long legal battle. And who knows, if luck favors, she might even get the death penalty. And for the person who has gone, would you want to send your friend to the gallows? So stay within your limits, understood? Let's go, everyone."
And then they all left. Seema and Anshika kept looking at each other.
"Hello readers, we are writing every story series again, but I need your help with this. If you want me to continue writing, please write your comments on every episode and give your reviews on the book. Please, it's very important for me, guys. I need a little support and motivation from you all. How will I enjoy writing without a break? So go ahead and write your thoughts for the story."
Om listened attentively, absorbing the sage's words. Meanwhile, news had spread in college that a boy had jumped into the sea, presumed to be Om.
After Mike and his friends leave, Seema, with a touch of anger, speaks to Anshika:
"You see what could happen if this matter reaches the police? Please try to understand, Anshika has risked her life for you. I just hope you realize it now."
Saying this, Seema storms off in anger, leaving Anshika looking sad and bewildered as she watches Seema leave.
On the other side, the sage explains to Om about the hidden powers within him and then hands over the book to Om. Then, as the sage moves towards the shore, he says,
"My child Om, remember to dedicate five years of your life to yourself. Sacrifice for yourself, and a miracle will happen, ushering in a new Om. I hope this Om will be memorable for the world because no one knows this Om today."
Om feels a different kind of feeling as he listens to the sage. He feels a sense of uniqueness within himself. And when he hears the sage's words, he suddenly shouts,
"Hey, grandfather, where are you going? There's the sea over there!"
Upon hearing Om's words, the sage turns back, smiling, and says,
"My child, I am a yogi. Water cannot stop me from moving forward. But now it's your turn to take steps forward towards a new beginning... I hope to meet the new Om soon."
Om feels that the sage is about to leave, although he still finds his words puzzling. Nevertheless, with a sense of belief, he asks,
"Does that mean you're leaving now? Will we meet again?"
With a smile, the sage replies,
"Of course, my son. I have always been with you and will always be."
Listening to the sage's words, Om looks towards his book for a moment, and when he looks back at the sage, he finds him gone. Om couldn't understand what was happening; it felt like a dream. He even pinches himself to make sure it's not a dream. It's only then that he realizes it's indeed reality. Suddenly, a sadness creeps onto his face as he mourns the departure of the sage. Om feels a strange connection with the sage, but now he has left, and Om had not even thanked him for saving his life and advising him to change. Lost in these thoughts, Om starts his journey back home, and by the time he reaches home, it's late at night.
Sitting on the sofa, he looks at his book. As he reads, he gradually becomes engrossed in it. Reading through the night, he finishes the entire book by the next evening. Closing the book, his eyes sparkle, his face is radiant, showing no signs of fatigue. It's been almost two to three days since he last ate or drank water, yet he feels nothing. Suddenly, Om shouts again,
"Yes, I'll give five years... From today, I'll confine myself to this house. I'll unleash my inner powers."
After that, Om locks himself inside his house. Every morning, an aunt comes who cleans the house and prepares food for Om, then leaves. Om hasn't spoken a word in five years. To everyone else, Om was just a deaf and mute boy. As for Om, he spends all his time practicing yoga, meditating, and focusing his mind. Our scriptures also teach us that those who immerse themselves in yoga and meditation can harness their inner energy and become masters of extraordinary powers.
As easy as it may sound, it's equally difficult because not everyone can focus their minds, sacrifice all their comforts, and rebuild themselves. In ancient times, sages and saints always meditated to develop their inner strengths. What they called yoga is famous as martial arts in countries like Japan and China even today. Many people with such qualities are known as superhumans in some countries. So, the question arises: will Om also become one? Will his life change completely?
