The threat from the mayor had completely shattered Vijay Ahuja's arrogance. He hurried back into the ward and began checking the patient's condition. The nurse soon followed with the necessary medicines and equipment. Vijay observed that the patient's breathing was slowing down. He tried his best to stabilize the patient's condition, but it soon became clear that his efforts were failing. The monitor showed the patient's pulse weakening. Despite his best efforts, Vijay couldn't see any positive results, and sweat began to drench his body as panic set in.
In his desperation, Vijay turned to the nurse and said urgently, "Quickly, bring me the cure tablet!"
The nurse handed him a tablet from the kit, and as Vijay was about to administer it to the patient, Om suddenly intervened, saying, "Stop, Uncle! That tablet will only bring him closer to death!"
Hearing Om's childish warning, Vijay's temper flared. He shouted angrily, "Shut up, you fool! You've been spouting nonsense since you got here. What do you know about any of this, you illiterate brat? Get out of here! You have no right to lecture me!"
Ignoring Om's plea, Vijay gave the tablet to the mayor's son. Almost immediately after swallowing the tablet, the mayor's son began gasping for breath, his eyes widening in terror. He started convulsing violently on the bed, and then, in an instant, everything went silent. The mayor's son lay motionless on the bed, lifeless. Everyone in the room stood frozen in shock and fear at the sight.
Seeing his son lying dead, the mayor rushed into the room. Tears streamed down his face as he looked at his son for a moment before turning towards Vijay in a rage. Without warning, he grabbed Vijay by the throat, shaking him violently as he screamed, "You worthless doctor! What have you done? You've killed my only son! Now, you'll pay with your life!"
Vijay struggled to free himself, pleading in a choked voice, "Please, Mayor Sir, there's nothing more I could do… Please, let me go. I tried my best to save him!"
But the mayor was beyond reason, his fury unchecked. He shouted, "You should have said that before you gave him those drugs!"
Vijay, now utterly terrified, begged for his life, "Forgive me, Mayor Sir. Please, let me go!"
The mayor, still holding Vijay by the throat, was deaf to his pleas. "You can apologize to my son!" he spat.
At that moment, Om swiftly grabbed a tray filled with needles and began piercing the mayor's son's chest and abdomen with them. The mayor, still gripping Vijay's throat, turned his attention to Om in shock. Vijay, too, was stunned, unable to comprehend Om's actions.
The mayor released Vijay and rushed to Om, demanding, "What are you doing? Why are you tormenting a corpse?"
Vijay, seething with anger, joined the mayor in confronting Om, "I told you not to make things worse! I told you to stop and get out! This isn't some magic trick where the dead rise again!"
Om remained calm, focused on his task, and replied, "Sir, please step back. I can save your son. Trust me and let me do my work, or it'll be too late."
The mayor, taken aback, asked, "Can you really save my son? Are you a doctor?"
Om, still concentrating on the task, said quietly, "No, I'm not a doctor, but I'm confident I can save him. You can bet on it if you like."
Without hesitation, the mayor said, "Alright, it's a bet. If you save my son, I'll give you 20 million rupees."
Om, not distracted from his task, responded, "As you wish, Sir."
Vijay, now completely terrified, approached Om and whispered, "Are you crazy? Don't make things worse for me. Do you understand?"
Om, still smiling and focused, said, "Don't worry, Uncle. If I fail, I'll take full responsibility. You won't be held accountable."
Vijay, still fuming, retorted, "Fine. But if you lose, I'm not responsible for what happens. Understand?"
Om smiled, "Yes, Uncle, you're not involved in this bet at all. Understood."
Om then stood by the bed, closing his eyes as he visualized the mayor's son's condition. Through his mind's eye, Om saw traces of poison in the boy's body. As Om inserted the needles into the boy's body, a golden aura formed around Om's hands, healing the damaged parts of the boy's body. After checking the patient with his mind's eye, Om opened his eyes and smiled. But when there was still no movement from the patient, Vijay, growing impatient, sneered, "See, nothing happened! This isn't a child's game where tricks can bring the dead back to life. And I already told you, I'm not responsible for this. Now deal with the consequences!"
Before Vijay could finish his sentence, the mayor's son suddenly coughed. Everyone's eyes widened in shock. Then, to their utter disbelief, the mayor's son sat up on the bed. The room was filled with astonished silence. The boy then leaned over the side of the bed and vomited, expelling everything from his stomach.
Coughing, the boy asked, "Where… Where am I?"
Hearing his son's voice, the mayor rushed to him, tears flowing as he embraced him, "Ayush, my son! You're in the hospital, and you're going to be just fine!"
Ayush, still in disbelief, hugged his father and asked, "But how… how is this possible? Just a moment ago, I couldn't even move my body. And now…"
The mayor, tears of joy streaming down his face, pointed to Om and said, "This young man saved you, Ayush."
Ayush smiled at Om and asked, "What's your name, Doctor?"
Om smiled back and replied, "Sir, my name is Om Ahuja, and I'm not a doctor. Just someone with a bit of knowledge in traditional healing."
The mayor, overwhelmed with gratitude, approached Om, placing his hands on his shoulders, and said, "Son, you may be as young as my son, but today, you've proven your worth as a healer. I know I can never repay this debt, even with my life. But here, take my card. Meet me at my office tomorrow to collect your 20 million rupees. And I promise you, whenever you need anything, just contact me, and I'll be there."
Om, still smiling with innocence, replied, "Sir, it was my duty. I would have done the same for anyone else. But I have one request—please don't do anything to my uncle, Dr. Ahuja."
Hearing this, the mayor's face darkened with anger as he turned back to Vijay, gripping his shoulder, "So, you're this boy's uncle. Tear up your license, you worthless doctor! You're lucky this boy saved you today. But mark my words, you better straighten up!"
Just then, the mayor received a call and left the room abruptly. Dr. Vijay remained standing there, eyes wide in disbelief. He couldn't trust his own eyes. He couldn't believe that the boy, who hadn't been able to move for 15 days and had seemingly died moments ago, was now sitting up on the bed as if reborn.
Om called out softly, "Uncle… Uncle, are you okay?"
But all Vijay could manage to say was, "H-How… how did you do this?"
