Sunday Afternoon
Om, along with his uncle's family, arrives at a VIP hotel in the city for lunch with the Kaathwani family. By the time Om and his uncle reach the hotel, the Kaathwani family is already present in the grand hall. Om hesitantly sits next to his aunt, while everyone else is engrossed in their own conversations. Om observes the Kaathwani family, who are one of the most powerful families in the city. At that time, powerful families had significant influence over the city, often overshadowing even the government. People did anything to establish relationships with such families. Vijay, Om's uncle, had always seized every opportunity to strengthen his ties with the Kaathwani family. Despite knowing them for many years, Vijay's relationship with the Kaathwanis had never been particularly close.
The Kaathwanis present include Mr. Dilip Kaathwani, a business icon, his wife Priya Kaathwani, and their two children, Abhay and Supriya Kaathwani. Both Abhay and Supriya seem to be around Om's age. Though they appear calm, their stature is commanding, as evidenced by the bodyguards stationed around their private room in the hotel. Om notices every detail of the Kaathwani family's presence. Meanwhile, the others continue their conversations. However, Mr. Kaathwani's gaze has been scanning Om ever since he entered the hall with Vijay. As a businessman, Dilip Kaathwani had a keen sense for reading people. But it wasn't just Mr. Kaathwani who couldn't keep his eyes off Om. His daughter, Supriya, seemed unable to look away from him. Supriya's positive energy and captivating presence were drawing her towards Om, and it was clear that her mother, Mrs. Priya Kaathwani, was also intrigued by Om's positive vibes.
Soon, Mr. Kaathwani asks Vijay, "Mr. Vijay, you haven't introduced us to this young man. Can you tell us who he is? Please, introduce us."
Seeing her husband's initiative, Mrs. Kaathwani also breaks her silence, curious, "Yes, Mrs. Ahuja, who is this young man? We haven't seen him with you before."
Vijay, feeling a bit awkward, looks at Om and then, smiling at Mr. Kaathwani, begins, "Mr. Kaathwani, this is—"
Before Vijay can continue, Sharda quickly interjects, "Yes, Priya, this is our nephew, Om. He is the son of our late elder brother, Vipul Ahuja, and Veena Ahuja."
Upon hearing Sharda's explanation, Mr. Kaathwani is somewhat surprised, "Oh, you're truly Vipul Ahuja's son? The renowned biologist who passed away mysteriously?"
Hearing his late father's name from the Kaathwanis, Vijay looks down. However, Om, smiling, responds, "Yes, I am his son. My name is Om. Thank you for your kind words about my father. It's a pleasure to meet you, sir."
Pleased with Om's polite demeanor, Mr. Kaathwani says, "Son, your father was a very good man. You resemble him in many ways. You have a way of captivating people. I'm sorry to remind you of your parents."
Om calmly replies, "Thank you, and there's no need to apologize. I enjoy hearing about them."
Mr. Kaathwani then introduces his children, "This is my eldest son, Abhay, and his sister, Supriya."
Abhay is a calm and approachable person, who can easily gauge the character of others. From Om's demeanor and face, Abhay could tell that Om was a good person, and after his father's introduction, he felt that Om was worth making friends with. Supriya, on the other hand, seemed completely captivated by Om. She couldn't take her eyes off him.
In an era where parents were increasingly giving their children the freedom to make their own decisions, the Kaathwani family was no different. Supriya, smiling, says to Om, "Mr. Om, your personality is very attractive. It's rare to find such a quality in people."
Hearing Supriya's compliment, Abhay sets down his drink and says, "Now, I also think you are indeed very attractive since my sister rarely gives such compliments. I'd like to know more about you. By the way, what do you do, Mr. Om?"
Om, smiling, replies, "Well, thank you, Miss Supriya, for the compliment. Currently, I am not doing anything."
Hearing this, Vijay quietly chuckles. Abhay, curious, adds, "Oh, really? I find it hard to believe that someone like you is unemployed."
Om responds calmly, "Mr. Abhay, I'm unemployed because I haven't found a job yet. However, I haven't really looked for one either. I hope to find a job soon."
Abhay smiles and says, "Well, I hope you find a great job soon."
Mr. Kaathwani observes Abhay and Om's interaction carefully. He notices something special about Om. Just then, Abhay, seeing that Om's plate is empty, takes a rasgulla from the table and offers it to Abhay, saying, "Oh Abhay, your plate is empty. Here, have some rasgulla. Young men like you should always take good care of their food. Let me feed you myself, after all, I am your uncle, right? What do you say, Mr. Kaathwani?"
Mr. Kaathwani laughs and, a bit hesitantly, agrees, "Ah, yes, yes, indeed."
Vijay then feeds Abhay the rasgulla and returns to his seat, chuckling.
After eating the rasgulla, Abhay, cleaning his mouth, says to Om, "Mr. Om, if you're interested, our company can offer you a job as a junior product promoter. But it's up to you if you want to accept."
Hearing this unexpected job offer, Vijay is momentarily stunned into silence. He realizes that Om has captured everyone's attention, much like his father did. Vijay, feeling overwhelmed by the situation, becomes agitated and, in frustration, says to Om, "Leave this place right now. Immediately."
