GREGORY MARKS POV
The morning light was already filtering through the thin curtains of the mansion casting a dull glow on the scattered remnants of the previous night. I groaned as I slowly came to consciousness, the familiar pounding in my head a relentless reminder of the indulgences from the night before. My mouth felt like sandpaper, and every movement amplified the throb of my hangover.
"Fuck" I cursed aloud.
I shifted gingerly, trying to avoid any sudden movements that might worsen the dull, throbbing pain behind my eyes. The night had been a blur of expensive whiskey, heated debates, and laughter with the senator and the high court judge. We had all been celebrating the success of the foundation's latest initiative, a feat that deserved the accolades but perhaps not the excesses in which we had indulged. Plus, what crowned it all was sending Eli to Armand Inc to spy on that fucking bastard.
