I sat there, staring at the floor, trying to keep my thoughts in order. Laurene shifted beside me, sensing that I was struggling to piece things together. After a moment of silence "Gregory," she spoke up, her voice calm but deliberate, "the only person who would have access to that kind of information... it would have to be the head of security. No one else could dig that deep without raising alarms."
Her words hit me like a sudden realization. The head of security. Of course. Someone in that position would have access to sensitive data, especially if they knew where to look. I glanced over at her, narrowing my eyes slightly. "You think someone in security leaked this? Why would they take that kind of risk?"
She shrugged lightly but held my gaze. "Maybe they had something to gain. Or someone got to them. But it's the only logical place to start."
