'This is a good ability for scouting the surroundings and spying on people. Maybe even eavesdrop on important conversations.'
Dylan thought with a wicked grin.
Just like that, Dylan continued where he left off. Occasionally, he would share senses with the mosquito to make sure that there were no dangerous creatures around the vicinity. Fortunately, the mosquito only saw mantis, bugs, and other insects. There are no big animals yet...
Of course, Dylan doesn't really have any clue where the fuck the mosquito went. He could actually communicate with his mosquito self and give simple instructions to it but he didn't bother to do so.
It was hard to figure out where the mosquito wandered off even with their shared senses due to the black and white vision and its poor sense of hearing and smell.
Dylan smiled. 'Living as a mosquito is actually that tough.'
Two weeks passed. Dylan finally came out of the forest. He looked at the blue sky with tearful eyes. 'I finally came out! Fuck!! I haven't eaten any meat for two weeks...'
Yes, he didn't have a choice to eat fruits from the trees to ease his hunger and eliminate the negative states that the hunger caused him. Fortunately, some fruits are similar to Earth and there are also falls for sources of water.
Thanks to the waterfall. He managed to drink, wash his shabby clothes, and clean his body. Or else, he wouldn't even know how he would survive and endure.
'Let me see how my mosquito self was doing and where the hell it is now...'
Just as Dylan was about to access the shared senses. A beeping sound rang in his head.
[You died from poisoning! Congratulations on living your first life!]
Huh? I died?
Dylan was confused for a while but it didn't last before he realized that the notification was pertaining to the mosquito.
Died of poisoning? Dylan could only say condolences to his mosquito version for being greedy for blood. It probably bit an animal with dirty or toxic blood, right?
Dylan repeatedly instructed it to avoid targeting weird animals. Unfortunately, it seems it didn't listen to him. Dylan could only also blame himself. The mosquito had inherited his stubborn and greedy personality which killed it in the end. 'As expected of my other self.' he thought self-depreciatingly.
Suddenly, a wisp of blue flame appeared. Dylan shook his head as he saw it enter his nose. He didn't resist at all. He was aware that it was the split soul. After the mosquito died, it came back to him. At this moment, David instinctively felt that could split his soul again once more and let it possess another creature.
Awesome!
[Your status has been updated!]
With this message, Dylan felt an intense headache. It was as if hundreds of hammers pounded his head.
Dylan felt a strong urge to sleep and intense dizziness. Just like that, Dylan lay on the ground and slept peacefully.
...
When Dylan opened his eyes, it was already dark. He looked at the moon in the sky in a daze. 'I was sleeping through the whole day.'
Dylan felt himself cautiously and noticed he had an extra memory. It was the memory of the mosquito! How he lives his life, his adventure, and its final end. It turns out, the mosquito bit a purple-skinned monkey and was poisoned. Still, Dylan was curious about the monkey. It's not like the monkey on Earth.
Once more, David offered condolence to his mosquito self and felt melancholy. No matter. The mosquito is also him. It's not wrong to say that he died again. Although in a different form. But the important thing is he died...
David thought of the screen and the panel appeared in front of him.
Name: Dylan
Level 1
HP: 100/100
Mana: 10/10
Specie: Human
Profession: N/A
Attributes:
STR: 5
VIT: 5
AGI: 5
INT: 1
WIS: 10
CHA: 8
-Innate skills-
Soul Split (Origin Skill)- Let the user's soul split
Specific details: The soul needs to be weaker than the user or at least the target's soul needs to be in a weakened state to seize the body. 100% success rate for dead body. Every 10 levels, the user would be able to have the opportunity to split his soul again.
Benefits:
-Enlightenment/better understanding of life. Gain WIS and CHA attribute points for every life lived. The number of points depends on the quality of life lived.
-Acquire the skills, talents, and experience of the clone once it dies. (Can't obtain the attributes).
Shared Senses (Origin Skill)
-Acquired Skills-
Lvl 1. Bloodsucking (Essence Skill)- The ability to suck blood to gain 1 hp per second. It essentially steals the health of the target. No cooldown. Doesn't require mana or stamina. (Due to different body, the user needs to touch the target for the skill to take effect.)
Lvl 1. Fly (Advance Skill)- The ability to fly. Makes the body 150% lighter. Consumes stamina. (Due to incompatibility with the human body, unable to fly. Increase the effect as compensation.)
Evaluation: Weak as fuck. Can fight an unarmed human adult.
Dylan scrutinized the panel with doubt. He understood everything since he was a nerdy person in his past life. Everything in the panel is just like a classic RPG game status panel.
Level 1? Makes sense since he's a damned beginner. He discovered the body he was in wasn't actually his body from Earth. He transmigrated. In simple terms, his soul took over another body like a thief.
'100 HP for level 1 makes sense. 10 units of mana? Does that mean every 1 INT gives 10 units of mana??'
Dylan smiled in understanding.
As for the STR, VIT, and AGI. Dylan knew they pertain to strength, vitality, and agility. He also understood that every 1 VIT gives 10 units of HP.
The only thing he was suspicious of was why the fuck was his intelligence so low? He kind of understood that the average attribute of humans was 5 based on the 5 STR, VIT, and AGI. So, does it mean everyone else has a starting point of 1 in INT or it's just random shit?
Then, there's also the high wisdom and charisma stat... It's not that he was complaining. Is it because he's a transmigrator which gave him a powerful soul? Thus, higher WIS and CHA? However, when he saw Soul Split under the innate skills. He was enlightened.
This skill... It's too OP! He actually acquired all the skills, talent, and memories of the mosquito! However, it seems he couldn't acquire the attributes of things he possessed which makes sense.
After all, in computer terms, the split soul only absorbs the software of the mosquito, not its hardware... Ummm.. Does that make sense? Ha-ha.
Dylan scratched his cheek and coughed. 'Fucking nerd!'
The only regret Dylan has is the fact he couldn't actually use the skill to fly. However, as compensation, 50% became 150%. A lighter body would play a role in battle and escape, right?
Then, on the Bloodsucking, instead of biting, he needs to touch the target. This made Dylan grateful. What a good system! It didn't force him to bite someone and drink their blood which was fucking disgusting! It saves him trouble!
He doesn't want everyone thinking of him as a scourge, a vampire. He could use the skill just fine with such an adjustment. He only needs to touch his opponents and absorb their blood to gain HP and even reduce theirs!
'The future looks bright with split soul skill. With this, I could live thousands of live at the same time as long as I level up!'
'Though, what does the panel mean about origin, essence, and advance skill? Classification of skills like in RPGs?'
Dylan shrugged. There's no need to continue thinking about it. He would understand everything in due time.
