Inside the Green Beast Forest, Dylan cautiously followed the four. He was responsible for the rear. The role of guarding the rear of their formation was to prevent sneak attacks from behind.
The rear was an important position to guard because once enemies flanked. The whole formation might get messy.
Orochi was on the front line. The role of the front line was the most dangerous job. They're the ones responsible for clearing the path ahead and would be the first to suffer once there's something dangerous ahead. Orochi was the strongest and he was also the leader so this role naturally fell to him
Side by side, just behind Orochi, stood Kevin and Hank. Their role was to watch an attack from the sides, and they also needed to be responsive to help the rear or the front once something happened.
In the center was Kenjaku. He was in the safest position because he was the think tank of the group responsible for the analysis and strategies of ever-changing situations. He's the member who fights the least. He only needs to provide information and solutions to the group.
That's why, most of Kenjaku's equipment was for gathering intelligence. He knew the value of information.
At this moment, no one dares to make a sound. They were all focused on the surroundings. Towering trees in every inch and corner, verdant leaves, and tall grasses. They could only see a little glimpse of the sky from time to time due to the thick blockage of leaves and branches of trees above.
The more they walk in the forest. The quieter it becomes. The rustle of the leaves was eerily gone.
Suddenly, Orochi stopped in the air. He spread his hands. A black, red ball appeared on top of his palms. It didn't have energy fluctuations or sound. Then, he made a throwing motion aimed at him. A bush is 5 meters away in the front. The bush was thick enough to hide two people.
The black-red ball disappeared; it instantly arrived at the bush... When the black-red ball made contact. The entire bush was swallowed by it like it was a black hole.
"KEKKK!!!" A sound of wailing sounded.
A fountain of blood and stumps of flesh flew in every direction. The black-red energy disappeared along with a little surface of the ground and the entire bush.
Dylan couldn't fathom what he just witnessed. With the bush gone, they finally saw a goblin missing the entire half of his body. Blood continues to pour out. It couldn't be deader than that.
Then, it fell to the ground with a loud thud. Beside it was another gobline head. It only has a neck but no body.
'The black energy seems to have the element of space. It didn't move but teleported. It's like a super small black hole that swallows anything in its path. That's too lethal.' Fear began to blossom in Dylan's heart.
That attack was hard to counter! No matter how tough your defense is. It can only be swallowed. It's also difficult to dodge because it's essentially teleporting to reach the target. Dylan knew that he wasn't fast enough to evade such an attack.
'I thought that he was the Incarnation of Sun God? Why does he have the power of space?'
"In front of the power of nothingness, nothing shall exist." Orochi floated atop the corpses of goblins and looked at them calmly.
Kenjaku, Kevin, and Hank didn't show any reaction at all.
"Do you now know why this place is called Green Beast Forest?"
Kenjaku asked.
Dylan nodded. "This place is the territory of goblins." As he just finished his words.
Continuous sounds of footsteps appeared growing louder and closer.
"They're here." Hank raised his axe and pointed to the trees in front. The armor on his body released a blue light.
Kevin and Kenjaku also readied their weapons with a solemn expression. Kevin Saber produces a ticking sound. He then began to move erratically, his feet bouncing on the ground every second.
Dylan didn't activate his fire body. He might affect the people around him.
Just like that, dense with green dots, the silhouette of goblins emerged behind the trees one after another. Their number was enough to make anyone who did this have their scalp tingling. Each of them were two meters tall with green skin. They looked feral as their eyes had little red blood vessel popping out.
Dylan began to count their number, but it was futile. There are too many. This isn't a simple group of goblins! It's a fucking gobline horde!
Kanjaku suddenly spoke at this time with a worried face. "This isn't right. Something is wrong here. The number is too big this time. There may be an anomaly here." He sounded uncertain.
Even Hank and Kevin felt surprised. There are only a few times that Kenjaku wasn't sure of. When it happens, it means that the situation is already out of their control.
"The last time that we came here was just two weeks ago. What could have happened?" Hank looked at the ferocious-looking goblin that was currently eyeing them with bloodthirsty eyes.
Kevin nodded. "If I recall it right, we only encountered two groups last time, right? The first one has six, and the last one has eleven."
Dylan realized from the conversation that that shit was about to go bad. As a player, he knew what happened more than them. They cannot guess it but he knows. His expression became solemn as he opened his mouth to say: "A hobgoblin was born."
Kenjaku, Hank, and Kevin looked at Dylan in surprise. Only Orochi didn't. He just produced two black-red energy. One hovered on the right hand, one on the left.
"A Hobgoblin was born? How did you know about that? How did you come to that conclusion?"
The way Kenjaku looked at Dylan changed. As he thought in that direction, he realized that Dylan wasn't spouting nonsense.
"It's simple. The Hobgoblin is the next evolution of goblins. A Hobgoblin is like a general to them or a ruler. It can command an entire horde. If I have to guess, Hobgoblin is commanding them from behind."
Kenjaku sighed helplessly. "That's highly likely. I didn't expect your knowledge about monsters."
Kevin showed a worried face. "They're coming!"
