Kilis

"Can you try talking to this person Davy is talking to, Zarah?" Maddox asked, bored as hell as they were just seated on the floor, had nothing better to do but wait for the three who had just come out minutes ago.

"What will I even say?" Zarah asked, but sort of curious about the result as well.

"Ask what kind of planet this Planet Gelos is. I'm curious what kind of food they'd bring later."

Zarah rolled her eyes. "You really have nothing else in your mind but food. Also, how do I even activate her?"

"Just ask a question, or probably call that name, what was that again? Lisa? Loisa?"

"Luisa," Zarah corrected.

"Name is called by an unrecognized voice, you are now being recorded."

The two jumped on their seats upon hearing Luisa's voice filling the whole aircraft. Zarah and Maddox looked at each other, grinning as they had successfully activated Luisa without trying.

"Luisa, we'd like to know the information about Planet Gelos. Can you give that to us?"

"Question being processed. Harmless question, confirmed. Information about Planet Gelos is being generated in ten seconds. Please wait…"

The two quietly watched with awe as the computer processed the information. Their previous aircraft, before it had exploded with the Planet Xinus N, was just a simple aircraft that they could not do anything but sit, stand, and lie down. They could not even walk more than five steps.

But this aircraft could fit about ten people, and there were a lot of rooms to go to and stay. Its features were also advanced. The one who created this must be a genius, and if it was Davy's father, then it means that Davy could also be hiding his intelligence.

Though all that they could see to him was a bit of a clumsy, foolish guy who had small intelligence was all that they could see with that guy.

"Planet Gelos, a 201-million-year old ice cold planet, is a habitable planet for creatures called 'Gelosan'. As you can see in the image, these creatures are seven-foot tall, heavily covered by hairy skin about five meters long, their teeth are sharp like shark's teeth, and their eyes are white. They are harmless, but they are cold and have no care about others but themselves. Their houses are made of ice, thick and as strong as a brick. They make sure that a 'Kili' or a 'Gelosan wolf' will not be able to break through or else they would be its whole week's dinner."

"Kili?" Zarah asked curiously. Somehow feeling that something was wrong and dangerous on this planet upon the mention of something seemingly deserving of warning.

The screen showed a scarier version of a wolf. They had seen that kind animal before but it was only through books where their ancestors left for them to be aware of the kinds of creatures there were in the universe they knew existed.

This was the only time they saw a pixelated and clearer version of such an animal. The picture alone was enough to send shivers down their spine, so what more if they saw one or were targeted by one.

"This is a creature called Kili. A gray wolf that had the ability to turn into white wolf as a camouflage to their surroundings as a strategy to watch over their prey. However, their red eyes are giving it away which often got them caught. These creatures can tear flesh in one bite, they are aggressive, fast, and they often attack in a pack. Their weakness is still unknown to the Gelosans."

"Oh my god. They are in danger, then!" Zarah exclaimed, voice filled with worry as she stood and paced back and forth. "We have to warn them!"

"Luisa, what are the types of food that these Gelosan usually eat?" Maddox asked, only concerned about one thing and it was definitely not his friends.

"In the planet with two existing predators, their food is each other. Gelosans eat frozen meat of young Kilis which tasted like beef meat, and the Kilis' main prey is the Gelosans."

"Maddox! How could you think of food instead of Valdis, Piotr, and Davy!? What if they encounter a pack of Kili? We can't let that happen!" Zarah scolded him, disappointed that he was not as bothered as she was.

"What are we going to do then? Follow them? Just by opening that door, we are going to turn to frozen meat, too. We don't have protective suits like those three, we can't do anything but wait, Zarah. Also, trust those two, they can fight, I don't know about Davy, though."

Maddox somehow got a point, and Zarah hated that he did because they could not do anything but wait and trust those three that they would come back alive and complete. They could not risk that all of them would be left dead on the planet.

"Is there any way to contact Davy, Luisa? Like a signal to alert them or tell them to go back here?" Zarah remembered Davy's reminder to Luisa to alert him once something happened to the aircraft, so she assumed they had something that connected the two of them.

"Contacting suit number one…"

Zarah and Maddox watched as there was some sort of a signal call being made through the screen, waiting for Davy, who was wearing suit number one, to answer the call. It took long, and it was just contacting for a few minutes, which added to Zarah's worry and intuition that something was happening.

But then the red screen turned green, and Davy's panting breaths were heard. "Lu-Luisa… this is not the time Shit, they are near! Run faster!"

"You're the one who's slow, idiot!" came Piotr's voice, who just like Davy, was panting and seemingly scared.

"I guess we're late to inform you of the Kilis?" Zarah bit her finger, also nervous of what was happening to them even though she wasn't physically there. With the scary look of the wolf, and its red eyes, it was enough to make her heart beat fast.

"Kilis!?" Davy asked, but he was distracted. These wolves were fast, and even though they were far earlier, they were almost catching up already.

Davy connected the call to the other two as well to let them hear what they were talking about.

"Yes. Those scarier wolves are called Kili here. They eat the Gelosans, so you are in danger. Go find a shelter as soon as possible, those houses are made to withstand this animal."

"Where do we go, Valdis? Everyone has already evacuated and closed their houses. They won't help us! What should we do!?" Davy added, panicked and confused.

The houses were all closed, and there weren't even windows to peek inside or anyone outside to ask for help. Everyone was hiding, silent, and prepared whenever their houses were attacked.

"Knock on each door. There should at least be one of these creatures who will be kind enough to let us in," Valdis hopefully said, knocking on each door they could knock. "Help!"

The wolves' howl was getting nearer, and they could hear now their aggressive pants and the thumping of their fast feet. Their time was limited, or else they needed to fight with a very small chance of surviving.

"Help us!" They shouted, even Piotr who was always calm and angry was desperately knocking on each door and screaming for help in urgency.

There were a lot of houses lined up, but none of them were opening. It was impossible that they weren't hearing them, it was just they all didn't care and it was better to be careful than risk their lives in saving unknown creatures like them.

"We have no other choice. We need to fight," Valdis said, taking her sharp, gray, sword with golden edges and seemingly can cut anyone with just a swish in the air.

"It's impossible to win!" Zarah scolded. "One bite and you're a feast to this pack. You have to hide and think of a way to shoo them away!"

"Zarah, if we could, we would! These creatures won't open the door for us! We have no other choice," Piotr irritatedly replied.

"There's no weakness known of this creature, and if the Gelosans managed to live with this dangerous creature then it means they know something to keep them away. You are just risking your lives by getting close to the Kilis," Zarah logically explained.

She wasn't the brain of the group if she would not think of that obvious fact. But their situation was hopeless, no one was opening the door for them even with how loud they called for help and knocked on their door.

"Wait, let me ask. Luisa, is there any secret communication among Gelosans, or anything that they don't like and make them scared?" Zarah asked.

"What? Why would they have that? What are they, humans?" Davy retorted.

"Gelosans are afraid of loud and aggressive approaches. They are soft and easily scared despite their looks, they want calm and peace in everything."

"That's it!" Zarah exclaimed. "Just knock softly. They won't open the door, probably thinking it's the Kili because you're knocking aggressively. Try to knock softly."

The Kilis had finally reached the village, and their red eyes were obviously aiming for the three of them who were moving outside.

Valdis, without any questions, went to one door

and calmly knocked thrice. Then, within only five seconds, the door opened.

"Come inside, now!"
