CLEAN UP

Mattie's legs felt like jelly as she stumbled out of Tonia's cell room, still reeling from the shocking news.

She couldn't believe Tonia, someone she cared for and trusted as a mother, could be so cruel. How could she do such a thing? She tricked her and made her think Lamdon was the one behind the men she thought took advantage of her.

But it was all set up by Tonia, making five men sleep with her, age was too drunk to even know what had happened to her that night.

As she walked outside, Mattie's mind racing with thoughts of the men she had slept with and the retroviral virus, she quickly dialed the doctor's number. Only then she recalled how the doctor had reacted when she told him her symptoms.

She bit her fingernails as waited for him to respond, "Hello," the doctor said.

"When will the test results be ready?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.

The doctor replied, "In a few days, ma'am."
