Carlos and Daifuku stood more than ten meters apart, facing each other with intense gazes. The atmosphere in the auction venue grew increasingly tense, making it difficult for anyone to breathe easily.
Everyone present was far from ordinary, and they could all sense the strength radiating from both men. This newcomer named Garros didn't seem to be without skill. In fact, this battle between two powerful individuals was far more captivating than the auction itself!
The audience held their breath, focusing entirely on the two figures before them.
Time passed slowly.
Suddenly, without any warning, Daifuku made the first move.
His hands rubbed violently against the belt around his abdomen, creating a harsh crunching sound. With a loud bang, a cloud of smoke erupted from his waist, and in mid-air, it transformed into a towering, muscular demon holding a massive sword. Although the demon only had an upper body, it exuded an aura of immense power.
"Slay him, Demon!"
With Daifuku's command, the demon instantly crossed the ten-meter gap between them and appeared before Carlos. It raised its huge blade with both hands and brought it down at lightning speed, aiming directly for Carlos's head!
A sharp, piercing whistle echoed through the venue as the demon's sword slashed through the air with such force that it seemed to tear the very atmosphere apart.
"What... What is this? Such incredible power!"
"That's the power of Daifuku's Paramecia-type Transpiration Fruit! The demon he summons is unbelievably strong. I don't know how many warriors have met their end at the hands of that monster!"
"As the third son of the Yonko, Charlotte Linlin, he certainly lives up to his reputation!"
"Such a fast attack! That kid doesn't stand a chance of dodging it!"
"Is this battle going to end in an instant?"
…
Countless spectators were shocked, their eyes filled with fear. They knew that if they were in Carlos's place, they wouldn't be able to withstand such a powerful and domineering strike!
However, the expected screams never came.
The demon's attack struck nothing but empty air.
"He dodged? How is that possible?!"
Daifuku froze, just as he was about to make his next move.
Suddenly, a soft sigh echoed in his ear.
"Your intentions were too obvious."
The voice wasn't loud, but it was like thunder to Daifuku. His pupils shrank as a strong sense of impending doom surged through him.
Without hesitation, he instinctively crossed his arms in front of him, desperately coating his body with Armament Haki.
"It's useless! With my Haki, even cannonballs can't harm me!"
But in the next moment, a black shadow flashed by, accompanied by a gust of wind.
A sharp sword light erupted in the air, disappearing as quickly as it appeared.
Daifuku's expression froze. He suddenly felt a terrifying, unstoppable force wash over him.
"Pfft!"
Blood sprayed into the air. His wrist was severed completely, and a massive gash ran across his abdomen, deep enough to expose the bone.
The wound nearly cut him in half!
"Ahhh!"
Overwhelmed by the searing pain, Daifuku let out a scream before his vision went dark. He rolled his eyes back, collapsed heavily to the ground, and passed out.
Everything had happened in the blink of an eye.
Even after the battle ended, the spectators seemed unable to process what had just occurred.
After a long pause, they finally turned their attention to Daifuku, lying in a pool of his own blood.
Everyone in the audience swallowed nervously, their faces growing solemn.
"No way… Is it really over?"
"A bounty of 300 million beli, and a high-ranking officer of the BIG MOM Pirates was taken down with a single slash? Are you kidding me?"
"Garros? A man with such strength is still a newcomer?"
"How does this guy not have a bounty? Are the Marines complete idiots?"
…
"Flower Sword" Vista ignored the noisy chatter around him. He suddenly stood up and stared intently at the stage.
"What a powerful strike... What an overwhelming display of swordsmanship!"
"What a remarkable newcomer..."
In the shadowy corner of the auction booth, a white-haired old man hid behind a curtain, taking a long swig of wine.
Compared to the others, he had seen everything that had just transpired with complete clarity.
"It seemed like the big guy made the first move, but in reality, every action was perfectly read by his opponent's Observation Haki."
"Dodging at the exact moment of attack, then launching a counterstrike."
"The timing, the explosive speed, the strength behind that slash... Everything was flawless."
But what surprised him the most was the Armament Haki that wrapped around the blade when the young man attacked.
"It's hard to believe that someone in his twenties could possess such refined Armament Haki."
"To reach that level requires at least ten or twenty years of intense fighting and training. Even I wasn't at that level when I was his age!"
The old man muttered to himself, a flicker of admiration in his eyes.
"Impressive mastery of both Haki and swordsmanship."
Over the years, since the disbanding of the Roger Pirates, he had remained in the Sabaody Archipelago, watching countless younger generations make their way to the New World.
This was the first time he had seen such an extraordinary newcomer.
As he pondered, his interest in the young man grew even stronger. He couldn't help but take another large gulp of wine.
…
On the stage, Carlos casually shook the blood off his sword before slowly sheathing it. His cold gaze swept across the entire venue. The memory of his recent display of power seemed fresh in everyone's mind.
Whether they were the most vicious pirates or the princes and nobles of various kingdoms, they all fell silent, lowering their heads and avoiding his gaze.
The enormous auction hall suddenly became eerily quiet.
Carlos smirked slightly and began to walk away.
But just then, a figure suddenly appeared before him.
"You've severely injured a high-ranking officer of the BIG MOM Pirates. Aren't you afraid of Charlotte Linlin's revenge?"
Carlos looked at the newcomer and frowned slightly. "Huh? Are you planning to stop me too?"
Vista slowly drew the two long swords from his waist, pointing them diagonally. "At your age, to have such strength… I must admit, it's beyond my expectations."
"Since we're both swordsmen, why not have a little duel?"
Then, with a grin, he added, "Of course, just dueling would be a bit boring. How about we add a wager?"
"If you lose, you'll hand over that Great Grade Sword in your possession!"
"A duel between swordsmen?" Carlos thought, recognizing it as a flimsy excuse for greed.
He sneered inwardly but didn't immediately refuse or agree. Instead, he asked, "What if I win?"
Vista was taken aback for a moment, then laughed heartily. "If you manage to defeat me, I'll recommend you to my father as a captain of the Whitebeard Pirates!"
