Chapter 62 Caught Charlotte Linlin? Sengoku Shocked

"Water Style: Shark Bomb Technique!"

A giant shark, formed from an entire waterfall and thousands of meters long, surged forward. It effortlessly swallowed Big Mom whole.

With a resounding crash, it plummeted into the depths of the sea.

Inside the shark's belly, Big Mom struggled frantically, waving her limbs in desperation. But her efforts were futile. The previous battle with Carlos had drained much of her energy, and she had been caught off guard and stabbed by Momousagi.

Wrapped in seawater, her body grew weaker and weaker until she eventually lost consciousness.

She sank to the bottom of the sea, bubbles rising to the surface.

"What!" Perospero, Yinfu, and other members of the Charlotte family watched in shock. They hadn't even considered preparing to support her.

"Hey! Your opponent is me!" Yamato declared, brandishing a thick mace.

The mace slammed into the ground in front of them. Yamato, holding the weapon with one hand, glared menacingly. Behind her stood Denjiro, Shutenmaru, and over ten thousand warriors, all of whom were ready to defend Wano.

Perospero's face twisted with anxiety and anger. Despite his mother's power, as a Devil Fruit user, she would not survive if she fell into the sea. The BIG MOM Pirates could not afford to lose her.

There was no room for compromise. The battle was about to erupt.

The two sides clashed violently, the sounds of battle and shouts filling the air.

As the fight raged on, groups of heavily armed Marines appeared on the battlefield, blocking the BIG MOM Pirates' escape routes.

Marine soldiers, positioned thousands of meters away, fired muskets in formation, unleashing a barrage of seastone bullets. The intense firepower created a deadly network of attacks, causing the pirates to scream in agony. Many Devil Fruit users were rendered ineffective almost instantly.

Momousagi joined the fray, fighting alongside Yamato, Denjiro, and Shutenmaru. Together, they pushed through the pirate ranks.

The previously even battle quickly became one-sided. The battlefield soon became littered with corpses, and the ground was stained red with blood.

Tens of thousands of BIG MOM Pirates had either been defeated or captured. Seeing the situation was lost, the remaining pirates surrendered.

"I can't believe we actually defeated an Emperor of the Sea!" Momousagi said, looking at the unconscious Linlin bound before them. She was overwhelmed with disbelief.

Carlos breathed a sigh of relief and smiled. "Thanks to you two. If it weren't for your support..."

Momousagi smoothed her hair and rolled her eyes. "Don't say that. I tried my best, but I only managed to hurt her. If you hadn't knocked her into the sea, even with our combined efforts, it would have been difficult to win. Ninety percent of the credit for this victory goes to you. I wouldn't dare take more."

Looking at Carlos, Momousagi's eyes grew complex. "It feels good to work with you..."

As they spoke, Carlos suddenly frowned and turned to look at a group approaching from the distance.

"You've been watching for a long time, and now you're finally showing up?"

It was the Red-Haired Pirates.

Shanks sighed sadly. "I didn't expect that after Kaido, even Charlotte Linlin would be defeated by you. Carlos, you really ruined our plans..."

Carlos replied calmly, "As a Marine, I should have taken action and arrested you. Since you didn't take advantage of me, I'll pretend I didn't see anything. Pirates are not welcome in Wano. Leave now, or I'll arrest you all!"

Clang!

Shanks drew his sword, Griffin, with an unreadable expression. "Are you threatening us? A free man of the sea will not be coerced."

As he spoke, Yasopp, Lakiu, and the other Red-Haired Pirates prepared for battle. The warriors moved closer, and the atmosphere grew tense.

Beckman took a deep drag on his cigar and said, "Shanks, retreat! This battle is pointless. Big Mom's defeat doesn't change Wano's stance. Even if we defeat these Marines, we gain nothing in terms of reputation or territory. We all saw how the battle went. A fight here would only result in mutual destruction. There's no need to escalate things."

Taking Beckman's advice into account, Shanks sheathed Griffin. After a final glance at Carlos, he led his crew away.

As they watched the Red-Haired Pirates leave, Yamato and the others breathed a sigh of relief, their emotions mixed.

"Even the sea must obey Carlos's commands," Yamato said.

"You saved Wano once again. I don't know how to thank you..." another added.

"By the way, His Highness Hiyori is still waiting for news. She would be very happy to know you're coming. She often speaks of your heroism."

"Sir Carlos, come back to the Flower Capital with us! We'll make sure you're well entertained!"

"Flower Capital? No problem," Carlos agreed with a smile.

As he spoke, a familiar system prompt echoed in his mind.

"Ding! Host's force (Marine) has suffered a serious blow. Checking..."

"Testing completed. Host's personal actions profoundly affected the Whitebeard Pirates, causing them to mobilize their main force and attack Impel Down. This is consistent with the behavior of the 25th Pirates. Final rating: A."

"Strength evaluation: SS."

"The conditions for the reward for Er Wu Zai have been met!"

"Overall rating: S."

"Rewards are being distributed..."

"Congratulations to the Host for winning the Master Ball!"

"Do you want to receive it?"

Carlos froze, his mind racing as the mechanical system's cold voice continued.

Impel Down under attack? What does that have to do with him?

Besides... S-level reward? Master Ball?

He quickly checked the system space and found a palm-sized ball, purple on top and white on the bottom, with an "M" logo.

[Master Ball]: A Poké Ball made with the most advanced technology, with a 100% capture rate.

The brief introduction mentioned it was a top creation from another world, reputed to capture even mythical creatures. But this was the pirate world, where there were no Pokémon!

"I wonder if this thing could help with Zou..." Carlos mused.

News of the defeat of the BIG MOM Pirates reached the Flower Capital.

Carlos's arrival thrilled the people of Wano. The streets were adorned with lights and streamers. Countless people poured into the streets with wine and food, hoping to catch a glimpse of the heroes. If Denjiro and others hadn't been maintaining order, the crowd might have been overwhelming.

Looking at the cheering crowds on both sides of the road, Carlos nodded slightly.

"It's been a while. I haven't seen you here for a long time. You've done a great job with this place."

Denjiro shook his head with emotion. "Since the overthrow of Kurozumi Orochi and the Beasts Pirates, the people's lives have improved significantly. Compared to the days when they didn't have enough to eat, it's like day and night."

"If it weren't for Your Excellency, where would we be today?"

"However..." Denjiro hesitated before continuing. Under Carlos's gaze, he spoke candidly. "There have been some problems with overseas trade recently. Doflamingo unilaterally terminated our trade relationship."

Doflamingo, who thrived in both legal and illegal activities, would certainly not agree to an unequal trade relationship after hearing about the Beasts Pirates' destruction.

Carlos nodded slightly, not too concerned. "I'll stop by Dressrosa and talk to him when I return."

When everyone arrived at the general's mansion, the banquet was already prepared. Daimyos from various regions of Wano also attended. Cheerful and beautiful music played as geishas danced gracefully. The atmosphere was lively.

During the banquet, Yamato announced her decision to go to sea with Carlos. With Wano now a member country of the World Government and the BIG MOM Pirates eliminated, anyone daring to take advantage of Wano would have to think twice. As for smaller pirate groups that underestimated the world, under Denjiro's protection, they shouldn't pose a problem.

After considering it silently, Carlos readily agreed to Yamato's request and took him under his command.

However, Hiyori seemed a bit dissatisfied. The young princess took advantage of the situation, getting Carlos alone in her private quarters. The two talked deeply and fell asleep together.

Naval Headquarters

Even though it was late at night, Akainu, Aokiji, Tsuru, Garp, and others gathered in the Marshal's office.

Sengoku examined the document report in his hand with a heavy sigh. A total of 1,200 prisoners had escaped from Impel Down. Among them were seven with bounties over 500 million beli, twenty-five with bounties over 100 million beli, and eighty-three with bounties over 10 million beli. He could already imagine the chaos that would ensue on the seas.

The Marines had dispatched 100,000 troops, but the battle with the Whitebeard Pirates had ended in failure, with casualties exceeding 50,000. Fortunately, no high-ranking combatants were lost, which was a small blessing.

Akainu, covered in bandages, stood up from the sofa, his expression grim. "At least half of the escaped prisoners have allied with Kaido. While they still have a weak foothold in the New World, we need to send troops to destroy them quickly!"

Sengoku shook his head slightly. Although he wanted to act, reality was more complicated. Both Marine Admirals, Akainu and Aokiji, were seriously injured and would be out of commission for a while.

Sengoku looked over at Kizaru, who was casually trimming his nails, and sighed. With so many prisoners on the loose, it was inevitable that some would seek revenge on the Celestial Dragons. To prevent unexpected events, Kizaru, the only one still fit for battle, couldn't be easily mobilized.

Tsuru spoke up. "By the way, Sengoku, what's the situation in Wano? Any news?"

Sengoku's expression darkened. "Aside from the BIG MOM Pirates, the Red-Haired Pirates are also interested in Wano's territory..."

Everyone felt a chill. It was clear from Sengoku's tone that things were not good.

Tsuru's expression grew increasingly worried. Garp also looked troubled.

"In other words, our Marine operation failed completely this time. This is troublesome..." Tsuru said.

The riot at Impel Down and the Marine defeat would significantly boost pirate arrogance. Future pirates might become even more reckless. The Marines' reputation had plummeted, and their deterrence was greatly weakened. The number of new pirates joining the seas was uncertain.

There were countless tasks ahead: paying pensions to fallen soldiers, renovating Impel Down, reorganizing personnel, and capturing the escaped pirates.

Akainu snorted in dissatisfaction. "Sengoku, you shouldn't have interfered with Wano's affairs. If Carlos and Momousagi had been here, we might not have been defeated!"

Crane replied coldly, "Akainu, what's the point of discussing this now? We need to decide our next steps. Should we block everything and start another war, or reduce Marine activities and focus on rebuilding our strength?"

Sengoku rubbed his temples and said thoughtfully, "Given our current lack of fighting spirit, it might not be wise to forcefully enter the New World."

Akainu grumbled. "Are we just going to let these escaped prisoners roam free and cause chaos? If this gets out, where will the Marine's reputation be?"

The room fell silent, the atmosphere heavy and tense.

At that moment, the phone on the desk rang.

Sengoku quickly answered the phone. "Gion, what's the situation over there?"

"Marshal Sengoku, the BIG MOM Pirates have been completely wiped out. Charlotte Linlin was captured by us and will set sail for Impel Down early tomorrow morning."

Everyone in the room stared in disbelief at the phone.

Sengoku's eyes widened. He thought he had misheard and quickly asked, "What? Charlotte Linlin has been captured? Are you sure?"

"Yes, under Vice Admiral Carlos's leadership, we successfully defeated her."

After receiving confirmation, Sengoku's breathing grew heavy. He then remembered something and asked, "By the way, didn't you say the Red-Haired Pirates were also there..."

"They were photographed by Vice Admiral Carlos, but there was no confrontation. They had already left Wano."

"Okay, okay, okay!" Sengoku exclaimed, surprised and elated. "Take Big Mom back to Marine Headquarters directly."

"Ah?"

"Impel Down has been mostly destroyed. We'll discuss the details in person when you return."

After hanging up, Sengoku exhaled deeply. Akainu, Aokiji, Garp, and the others exchanged surprised glances.

Sengoku smiled and waved his hand. "I don't know the specifics yet. Let's wait for their return. This rare piece of good news should be reported to the Five Elders as soon as possible."
