"If you insist on going, then I have no choice but to stop you here."
Carlos stepped aside and stood at the door, blocking Garp's path.
Garp stared at him for a long time before responding seriously, "If it were anyone else, I wouldn't hesitate to take a swing at them. But I'll ask you one last time: are you sure you want to stop me?"
He knew Carlos wasn't weak; in fact, he was very powerful. He had defeated Kaido, Big Mom, Hawkeye, and many other strong opponents. But in Garp's eyes, that was still just the beginning.
After all, he had been fighting on the seas for decades. Whether it was Roger the Pirate King, Whitebeard the Strongest Man in the World, or Rocks who dominated the seas, he had stood against them all.
In terms of vision, experience, and strength, he was at the pinnacle of the world.
This wasn't arrogance; it was the confidence of someone who had never suffered a defeat in decades of battle!
However, Garp was cautious. He was concerned that if their fight escalated too much, he might accidentally cripple his opponent. All this time, his iron fist had only been aimed at pirates. Carlos hadn't done anything heinous; it wouldn't reflect well on him to hurt an ally.
Carlos shook his head and sighed slightly. "I've told you before: you don't need to worry about the Marines. You have your thoughts, and I have my persistence. There's no need for more words. If you want to leave, you'll have to prove it with your strength."
"I came here to train with holographic projections, but that's not as effective as an actual battle. Show me what the Marines are capable of."
Garp's eyes grew stern, his hair and beard bristling. It was as if a sleeping lion had just awakened.
"Then, as you wish!"
As soon as he finished speaking, his figure vanished in an instant. The next moment, a black iron fist struck with overwhelming force.
A series of explosive roars filled the air, as if the atmosphere was shattering!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
This punch was incredibly fast and violent. Though still under ten times gravity, it approached the speed of sound. The wind from his fist tore through the air like a shockwave, shaking the ground and sending cracks spreading like spider webs.
"Here it comes! So fast!"
Carlos's eyes narrowed as he raised his arms in front of him without hesitation.
The next moment, a powerful force slammed into his arms, as if hundreds of tons of weight were hitting him!
Under the immense impact, he stumbled back more than ten steps before barely stabilizing himself. There was no time to feel the soreness and numbness in his arms.
His Observation Haki kicked in again—he sensed Garp's next attack descending from above like a meteor!
"What a troublesome guy…"
Carlos understood that Garp didn't eat a Devil Fruit and didn't use a sword. He had been sailing the seas for nearly half a century with nothing but his iron fists.
What Garp relied on was his incredible strength, unmatched speed, rich combat experience, strong will, and terrifying Conqueror's Haki!
Thinking of this, Carlos felt his fighting spirit soar and charged toward Garp instead of retreating.
The violent wind pressure behind him swept away smoke, dust, and debris in all directions!
The commotion in the training room immediately caught the attention of everyone in the square nearby.
"Hey, what's going on? What happened?"
"Is it an enemy attack?"
"The noise seems to be coming from the training room…"
Just as the crowd was chattering endlessly, a black shadow suddenly flew out.
With a tremendous roar, it crashed into the wall outside the square.
As the smoke and dust cleared, the figure became visible.
Akainu stepped forward from the crowd, his expression dissatisfied. "Garp? What are you doing?"
Garp climbed out of the pit, looking embarrassed. Ignoring the crowd, he rubbed his shoulders.
"Hiss... What a heavy punch! Kid, I really underestimated you! But next time, I'll have to be serious!"
He had long forgotten how long it had been since he had suffered such a loss. The embarrassment and the lingering pain in his body reignited the fierce fighting spirit buried deep within him.
Garp dusted off his suit, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and gazed into the distance.
At that moment, Carlos, far away, was also staring back.
The two men, separated by thousands of meters, locked eyes, and it felt like sparks were colliding where their gazes met.
The next instant, both figures vanished.
Two shockwaves violently collided in mid-air!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A series of harsh sonic booms erupted in the air!
The battle had just begun, and both were going all out!
In every second, they exchanged dozens of blows, their force so great that it distorted the air around them.
The speed was so fast that ordinary onlookers could hardly keep up with their movements.
In mid-air, the wind from their fists surged. The shockwaves generated by their collisions swept across thousands of meters.
Amidst the constant roars of explosions, it felt like a Category 12 typhoon had hit the island, scattering dust into the sky.
In mid-air, Garp rubbed his sore right fist, an undisguised admiration on his face.
Since the death of Roger the Pirate King, he hadn't experienced such a thrilling battle in a long time.
Though the fight had lasted only a short while, both men recognized each other's strength.
Throughout his Marine career, Garp had faced countless strong opponents. If he compared Carlos to them, he would undoubtedly rank among the best!
"This guy is as terrifying as a monster. I can hardly believe he's only in his twenties, with strength like this? Even Roger back then wasn't this formidable."
Not only was Carlos's Armament Haki incredibly strong, but he was also matching Garp blow for blow. His Observation Haki was equally impressive, accurately predicting Garp's every move—whether parrying, dodging, or confronting him directly.
For a moment, neither could gain the upper hand, and the battle fell into a brief stalemate.
Based on his experience, Garp knew that if this continued, it could take days to determine a winner!
"However, this level isn't enough!" Garp exclaimed, his voice low and determined.
"Moonwalk!"
Boom!
With immense force, the ground beneath his feet sank as gravel flew everywhere.
Woo!
The air compressed to its limit, releasing a sharp, piercing whistle that echoed in the sky.
Garp charged forward like an unstoppable humanoid tyrannosaurus, moving at supersonic speed, drawing a long white streak across the sky as he appeared before Carlos in an instant.
"Fist Bone Impact!"
