plotting revenge

Chapter 2

Irene POV

I stepped into the cozy café, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee enveloping me in a warm embrace. Carter and Emma, my closest friends, sat at a corner table, their concerned faces a balm to my broken soul. I collapsed into the chair across from them, my body trembling with pent-up emotions.

"Irene, what's wrong?" Carter asked, as I slid into the chair across from them. "You look like you've lost your last friend."

I took a deep breath, the words spilling out like a dam breaking. "Matthew rejected me, Carter. He rejected me as his mate, in front of Thea, his new mistress."

Emma's eyes widened in shock, while Carter's face darkened with anger. "That bastard," he muttered, his voice low and menacing.

I nodded, tears streaming down my face. "And to make matters worse, I'm pregnant. His child, a constant reminder of his betrayal."

Carter's face darkened with anger. "We'll get through this, Irene. We'll support you every step of the way."

Emma wrapped her arms around me, holding me close. "You're strong, Irene. You'll rise above this. We'll help you."

But then, Carter's expression changed, a look of surprise and disbelief crossing his face. "Irene, wait," he said, his voice laced with confusion. "Isn't Thea, the mistress, your step-sister? The one you cared for and took under your wing?"

I nodded, tears pricking at the corners of my eyes. "Yes, she is. But that doesn't change the fact that Matthew betrayed me, and I won't let his actions dictate my decisions."

"Oh, Irene, we're so sorry. We had no idea it was that complicated."

Carter's grip on my hand tightened as he assured me. "We're here for you, Irene. We'll support you, no matter what."

"What are you going to do about the baby, Irene?" Carter asked gently, his eyes filled with concern.

"Do you want to consider…..an abortion?" He spoke the words with nervousness as if afraid of my response

I sniffled, tears pricking at the corners of my eyes. "I'm going to keep it," I whispered, my voice barely audible.

Emma's eyes widened in worry. "Irene, are you ready to be a mother, especially under these circumstances?" she asked, her voice laced with doubt.

I wiped my tears. "This child is innocent, and I can't abandon it because of Matthew's betrayal," I said, my voice growing stronger. "I'll raise it on my own, and give it the love and care it deserves. I'll show Matthew that I don't need him, that I'm strong enough to do this alone."

Carter's face softened, his eyes filling with compassion. "Oh, Irene, we're here for you. We'll support you every step of the way."

Emma nodded in agreement, her eyes shining with understanding. "You're not alone, Irene. We'll help you through this."

I looked at them as I gave them a weak smile reassuring them that I am going to be okay

"Thank you so much for confronting me and respecting my decision of keeping the baby, I really appreciate."

Carter and Emma nodded in understanding, their eyes filled with a mix of sadness.

"It's nothing, Irene; you deserve the best." Emma said as she gave me a calm smile

"We know you've made up your mind, Irene," Carter said softly. "But we can't just let Matthew off the hook that easily. He needs to pay for what he's done."

I felt a surge of anger and agreement at Carter's words. "I know," I said, my voice firm. "But what can we do? He's too powerful, and I'm just a lone wolf."

Emma's eyes narrowed, a fierce glint in her eye. "We'll find a way," she said. "We'll make him pay, Irene. I promise."

Carter's eyes lit up with a plan. "I think I know how we can do it," he said, his voice filled with excitement. "Remember those business secrets Matthew left on your personal computer? The ones he thought were so valuable?"

I nodded, my heart racing with anticipation. "Yes, what about them?"

Carter's grin grew wider. "We can use them to our advantage. We can approach Leon, the Alpha of the rival pack. If we give him those secrets, Matthew's status and power will be threatened. He'll be weakened, and we can finally get our revenge."

I felt a rush of excitement, but also a wave of caution. "Wait, guys," I said, my voice hesitant. "Isn't that risky? I mean, Leon is feared by everyone. And there's so much bad blood between our packs. What if he misinterprets our intentions?"

Carter and Emma exchanged a glance, their faces serious. "We thought of that," Carter said. "But we think it's worth the risk. We'll be careful, Irene. We'll make sure Leon understands our proposal."

"I agree," I said, my voice firm, but my heart racing with Dread. "Let's do it. Let's take down Matthew and show him that he can't mess with me."

"I know this is a risky move," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "But I can't just sit back and do nothing. Matthew betrayed me, and he needs to pay."

"I would make sure I make his life so full of terror and unbearable."

"I would make him regret coming to this life, I would make him a laughing stock."

"Not just him but my good for nothing step sister, Thea."

" I would make them beg for Death, I would make them see Death but they wouldn't be able to embrace it.!!"
