The Rescue

After Ryan's abrupt departure, a subtle tension lingered in the air among Aeloria and her companions. Although Ryan was widely regarded as Aeloria's rumored boyfriend, his sudden exit cast doubt on the nature of their relationship. It left the onlookers speculating about the true dynamics between Aeloria and the Flock.

Flock felt an indescribable unease settling in.

Fortunately, Kolak's arrival broke the silence, providing a new topic of conversation and gradually dissipating the awkwardness as time wore on.

Upon reaching the KTV, Flock's social prowess was on full display. From the front desk staff to the sales manager, the host, and every service worker they passed, all greeted him with respect and salutations.

Amidst these greetings, Flock regained his confidence and pride as a leader.

As a nine-tiered cake was wheeled into the banquet hall by a group of handsome men and beautiful women, a bouquet of flowers was handed to Aeloria, and her friends' smiles immediately warmed.

Compared to Ryan, Flock was evidently more romantic and affluent.

They seemed like a match made in heaven!

Jane watched her best friend, half-cuddled up to Flock with the bouquet in hand, and her thoughts became jumbled. Ryan's meaningful words echoed in her mind: "How could I ever abandon the quest to conquer the vast universe for something as trivial as a "vase"?"

Ryan's words, spoken by a recent graduate with no wealth, seemed to reveal a jealousy that could not achieve his ambitions when juxtaposed with Flock's displayed wealth and grace.

However, when she thought about the text Ryan had sent her after he left, her clear perception began to blur.

Beware of Kolak.

Kolak, a friend brought by Flock, worked in the control tower and often needed to communicate with them, holding a higher status than an ordinary miner, as introduced by Aeloria.

But...

How did Ryan know Kolak?

How could Ryan know that Aeloria intended to introduce her to Kolak? This question haunted Jane throughout the evening.

The entire night, Jane's enthusiasm for having fun was low.

She wrestled internally, wanting to call Ryan to ask for clarification, but considering the noisy singing environment and the hard-earned atmosphere, she knew she had to consider Aeloria's feelings.

After waiting for a while, taking advantage of Aeloria and Flock singing a duet, Jane made an excuse to go to the restroom, temporarily leaving the private room.

Throughout the night, Kolak, who had behaved like a gentleman, revealed a barely perceptible smile after Jane left. He glanced at the drink Jane had been sipping from earlier, then stood up and said, "It's my turn for the next song..."

After leaving the room, Jane was filled with hesitation.

To contact Ryan at a time like this...

If Ryan asked about the situation here, how should she respond?

Moreover, Kolak had been polite all night and didn't seem to have any issues.

After staying in the restroom for a while, Jane ultimately decided not to make the call and returned to the room.

Just as Kolak finished singing and raised his glass to propose a toast, Jane took a sip from her glass and immediately sensed something was amiss.

Her vision began to blur.

Her head felt heavy.

She could barely hold onto her glass.

No good!

Something was wrong!

Jane quickly realized her drink had been tampered with.

"Lara, call for help," she tried to command through her implanted chip.

But the chip responded with no reaction, seemingly interfered with by some technology.

Jane felt her strength rapidly draining away, and she slumped onto the sofa. Before her consciousness faded, she mustered the last of her strength and pressed the emergency call button on her wristwatch—the name associated with it was Ryan's.

"Help me," she uttered a faint plea for help.

With the signal sent, Jane lost consciousness completely.

Kolak, who had been watching Jane from the shadows, smirked triumphantly as he saw her fall. The drug he used could temporarily interfere with the chip's functions, including automatic alarms, leaving only basic command responses.

Another person who noticed the situation was Flock.

Flock and Kolak exchanged a meaningful glance, and then he approached Aeloria: "Aeloria, let's turn off the lights and cut the cake."

"Sure!" Aeloria, already tipsy, nestled into Flock's embrace, completely oblivious to Jane's abnormal state.

The lights went out, and no one noticed that two people were missing from the room.

Kolak took Jane to the adjacent private room, looking at her flushed cheeks, and let out a self-satisfied laugh: "Indeed, young students are more interesting."

Just as Kolak was about to make his move, the door was suddenly kicked open with tremendous force from the outside.

BOOM!!

It was the power of an H5 level, exceptionally fierce.

The door was kicked flying, revealing the situation inside the room in full view.

Kolak was momentarily dazed.

He looked up to see Ryan, someone he had a brief encounter with, striding in.

"You scum!"

"You poor student, how dare you ruin my good thing."

Although Kolak had a guilty conscience, his courage was surprisingly impressive, attempting to intimidate Ryan with his overwhelming aura.

In this critical moment, he had to quickly take control of the situation; otherwise, he would not only lose his job and reputation but also face up to ten years in prison for the crime of forcing himself on a woman.

He swung his hand forcefully.

A flying dagger rushed straight for Ryan's face.

If Ryan were just an ordinary student, he would certainly not be able to dodge this attack;

But since Ryan was reborn, he had experienced countless life-and-death trials, and as soon as he saw the other person's movement, he was ready.

He quickly dodged his head, and the dagger "thudded" into the side of the door.

Ryan took three steps at once, quickly closing the distance with Kolak, followed by a powerful punch aimed at Kolak's face.

In ordinary people's fights, the most important thing is the word "ruthlessness"!

In an encounter, only the braver one can emerge victorious!

After missing with the flying dagger, Kolak felt something was wrong, only to see darkness before his eyes, and then a sharp pain smashed into his eye socket. He screamed, falling backward and shattering the table in the private room.

The commotion was so loud that everyone in the adjacent private room stopped talking. A group of men and women rushed over to see what happened and found that the three people in the next private room were all acquaintances.

The scene inside made Aeloria sober up instantly as if doused with cold water.

Jane, her best friend, was unconscious and defenseless on the sofa.

Flock saw Ryan riding on Kolak, punching him furiously, his eyes full of anger, and immediately stepped forward to try to stop him: "Stop it! Are you crazy!!"

"Who are you?" Ryan stopped and glared at Flock.

At this moment, someone blocked Flock's way.

Flock then noticed that the man standing next to him was Maughan from the base security team.

As the head of the logistics team, he had interacted with Maughan before.

His heart sank, realizing the situation was not good.

With the security team present, he could no longer help Kolak control the situation.

"They are my good friends, they've had too much to drink, it's just a misunderstanding," Flock tried to explain.

Maughan gave him a cold look, then pointed to Jane and said indifferently:

"Whether it's a misunderstanding or not depends on what the young lady says when she wakes up."

Flock's sense of unease grew stronger.

Maughan's awareness meant the security team's involvement.

The security team had the responsibility and power to decide whether to intervene in this matter.

But Maughan was obviously here for Kolak.

"Enough," Maughan shouted inside: "Ryan, don't kill him, or there will be no evidence left. The boss is already on his way, and the rest will be handled by headquarters. Don't worry, at least three years in prison is inevitable."

Ryan stopped, his left hand still tightly gripping Kolak's collar, the latter already beaten black and blue.

Ryan sneered and said:

"Hey... Don't worry, I avoided the vital parts of the body."

This statement sent a chill through Flock, Aeloria, and everyone around who knew Ryan, as if they had witnessed something incredible.
