"Wood, is this guy a wanted pirate?"
On Island 4 of Sabaody Archipelago, in a sparsely populated area, a tall, fair-skinned, long-legged girl was casually carrying a burly man much larger than herself. She looked at the black-haired boy beside her and asked.
The black-haired boy was squatting on the ground, holding a stack of wanted posters, comparing the faces of several unconscious individuals lying on the ground.
If one looked closely, they would notice that many people were lying unconscious around this young man and woman, and most of these individuals were prominent figures on Sabaody Archipelago.
Sabaody Archipelago is composed of 79 large trees. The areas from 1 to 29 mainly include places like human trafficking shops, slave auctions, and lawless zones.
Areas 30 to 39 have places like Soap Bubble Park.
Areas 40 to 49 are tourist areas with specialty shops.
Areas 50 to 59 include shipyards and coating craftsmen.
Areas 60 to 69 have Navy bases and government entrances.
Areas 70 to 79 primarily consist of hotels.
Wood and Gion had landed in the Red Tree Area 7 and were heading towards Red Tree Area 1, which meant they were passing through the lawless zones of Sabaody Archipelago.
Gion was tall and, despite wearing casual clothes, her beautiful face, impressive curves, and long legs exposed by her shorts quickly drew the attention of some slave traders.
Although both Wood and Gion had long swords hanging at their waists, their young age made them look like easy prey in this lawless area.
The two of them were exceptionally good-looking, and their youth made them valuable in any slave market.
As for the long swords at their waists, the slavers simply ignored them.
After all, in these chaotic times, even kids carried knives for protection. These slavers, who lived by the sword, weren't about to be scared off by two young people carrying swords.
There were many slave traders on Sabaody Archipelago, and such high-quality "merchandise" needed to be secured quickly before someone else took advantage of it.
The slavers assumed that Wood and Gion were too young to be powerful, so they made their move.
However, just a few minutes later, they were all knocked out cold.
"Aside from the guy in your hand, who's worth 33 million Berries, the rest are worthless," Wood said dejectedly after comparing the wanted posters in his hand. They had been surrounded by more than fifty people, yet only the one in Gion's hand had a bounty.
Don't ask where Wood got the wanted posters. Ever since Gion mentioned that the Navy gets a cut from capturing wanted pirates, he quickly found the most comprehensive and up-to-date pirate bounty list on the island.
"Most of the people involved in human trafficking on Sabaody Archipelago are part of underground organizations or bounty hunters. Some pirates might also get involved in these activities while waiting for their ships to be coated. I just didn't expect such trash to be worth 33 million Berries. The Navy's method of setting bounties seems a bit too random."
The pirate worth 33 million Berries was quite a figure in his own territory, yet Gion casually tossed him aside like a piece of garbage, her expression full of disdain.
As Gion said this, the other slavers and pirates hiding around them, who hadn't had a chance to act yet, gulped audibly.
As mentioned before, there were many slavers on Sabaody Archipelago, and competition was fierce. So, the number of people who had their eyes on Wood and Gion wasn't limited to the fifty or so who had already attacked. Many others hadn't had the chance to act yet.
These latecomers had originally planned to target Wood and Gion, but after witnessing the fight, their excitement quickly turned to caution.
Sabaody Archipelago is the gateway to the New World, and the pirates here are mostly rookies who haven't entered the New World yet.
Having a bounty over 100 million Berries here is enough to earn the title of "Supernova."
A new pirate with a bounty over 100 million Berries before entering the New World is already considered a big shot.
A bounty of 33 million Berries on Sabaody Archipelago is top-tier and makes one a notable figure.
Yet this powerful pirate, along with his 50-plus subordinates, had attacked these two young people and been defeated in less than three minutes.
Surprisingly, it wasn't the young man and woman who were defeated in those three minutes, but the 50-plus members of this pirate group moonlighting as slavers.
The pirate captain with the 33 million Berry bounty was taken down by the long-legged beauty in less than two moves, just like an ordinary low-level thug!
Having witnessed this, the other slavers lurking around quickly realized that these two young people weren't easy prey—they were fierce predators!
"There seem to be more of these guys hiding around. Should we take them out too? Maybe some of them are worth something," Wood suggested, recalling Gion's mention that the Navy gets a 10% cut of the bounty for capturing pirates.
The guy Gion just took out was worth 33 million Berries, so 10% would be 3.3 million Berries. Splitting it with Gion would give Wood 1.65 million Berries.
Having just tasted the sweet reward, Wood was tempted by how quickly he could earn money this way. In just a few minutes, he had made several months' worth of salary, so he immediately set his sights on the others hiding in the shadows.
"Let's not waste time on unnecessary things. Don't forget, we have other matters to attend to. We've already wasted enough time on these scum," Gion said, tugging Wood by the collar and dragging him away just as he was about to go after the hidden slavers.
Wood: "Wait a minute! Even if we don't go after the others, we should at least hand over the guy worth 33 million Berries to the Navy to claim the reward!"
Gion: "We don't have time for such a hassle right now. Besides, even if we leave him, someone will deliver him to the Navy branch on the island."
Wood: "Nonsense! There's 33 million Berries lying on the ground, and only an idiot wouldn't pick it up. But that money won't have anything to do with us! Let go of me, you rich woman! You have no idea what it's like to live as a poor man!"
