Chapter 14
Shadows of Doubt
As the heroes departed the temple, they couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched. The darkness they had vanquished seemed to linger, casting long shadows that stretched and twisted in the fading light of day. Lyra's sword, once a beacon of hope, now felt heavy with the weight of uncertainty.
"Guys, I don't like this," Aria said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Something feels off."
"I know what you mean," Kael replied, his eyes scanning the horizon. "I've been having these...dreams. Dark visions that feel more real than my own memories."
Erian's fingers faltered on his lyre's strings. "I've been experiencing strange visions too. Shadows moving, whispers in the wind...it's as if the darkness is seeping into our minds."
Rowan's staff glowed with an eerie light. "I've sensed a presence lurking just beyond our perception. It's watching us, waiting for the perfect moment to strike."
