With a huff, she descended the stairs but immediately halted on her steps when she heard a few maids gossiping among each other.
"Yeah, I heard that too." Said maid one.
"I told you Princess Fiona was a better alternative for our queen than that cursed princess Sasha. Look what bad luck she brought on our kingdom." Another feminine voice came and Sasha's eyes widened.
The news was all over.
They already labeled her as a cursed princess.
Not only that...even compared her with Fiona.
Sasha took a deep breath. Their words hurt her deeply but instead of stepping back, she stepped forward, coming into their sight.
"You heard what?" Sasha asked while walking up to them and all of them flinched, immediately standing in a proper line and bowing at her.
"M-My queen."
"I asked something. What did you hear?" Sasha asked, staring at them blankly. This was the first time she was even conversing properly with the maids of the castle but the situation was quite bad.
They already considered her bad and cursed.
If she tries to be nice, they would only consider it fake because their definition of nice was Fiona.
"W-we were j-just talking a-about the last night i-incident." One of them spoke up, almost on the verge of crying. If they couldn't face her, why talk behind her back? Sasha didn't even say anything and they were already like this.
She took a deep breath and eyed all three of them properly. They were too beautiful for just maids.
"Walls have ears too,... they are cursed too." Sasha said and all of them shared a similar glance, expressing 'We are done.'
She wanted to scare them more but she just decided to walk away from there, leaving them behind in confusion.
********
The next day arrived and the caravan left for the Kastron kingdom in the early morning. The Caravan included Princess Fiona and some of her personal royal guards from the Kastron kingdom who were always around her. It included the main guest no one other than the newly wedded couple, along with the old granny and a few of their servants with the special protection unit that would safely lead them to the Kastron kingdom before the night falls.
The Logon and Kastron kingdoms didn't have much of a distance between them.
Sasha took a deep breath, she wanted to ride the horse but she got stuck in the carriage because of her so-called husband and granny who cared a little too much about their reputation.
Their reputation would crumble if she rode a horse.
She didn't expect this from Jasper.
This man was really showing his true colors.
Even last night he didn't show up in their room because he was busy settling all the things down in the kingdom before leaving for the Kastron kingdom.
Sasha continued to look out of the window with her chin resting on her palm, her sight was blocked by huge trees and she couldn't have a clear look at the beautiful blue sky.
She turned her face to the left and saw the old granny sleeping with her head on Sasha's shoulder. With a sigh, she slowly turned her gaze in front and stared at Princess Fiona who was sitting in front of her, busy reading a book.
Usually, this young lady speaks a lot but right now she was utterly silent. Maybe the book was too interesting. Sasha wanted to start a conversation because she was bored but at the same time, she didn't want to disturb her.
But before she could look away, she unfortunately made eye contact with Fiona.
Sasha noticed something, Fiona smiled a lot and looked soft but when she didn't smile...she looked exactly the way she was looking at Sasha right now.
Slightly terrifying.
Fiona slowly closed the book, maintaining eye contact with Sasha, forcing the girl to flutter her gaze away for a second because the young lady in front really needed to smile at this point.
"Princess Sasha," Fiona called her and Sasha lashed her gaze back on her form. "Yes?" Sasha asked politely, waiting for Fiona to speak up.
"Are you on your menstrual cycle?" Fiona asked and Sasha's pupils slightly widened. She slowly raised her chin from her palm, her lips slightly parted as she stared at Fiona a little stunned.
"Ahh yes, my cycle started at midnight." Sasha said and Fiona made an 'oh' face, finally passing her a smile. "How did you know?" Sasha asked and Fiona shrugged while rubbing the tip of her nose with her finger.
"I have a great sense of smell." Fiona declared proudly and Sasha raised her brows at Fiona with a little smile on her face while nodding. Fiona's smile slowly faded away but Sasha didn't notice it as she praised the young lady.
"That's a great talent from god." Sasha complimented her, finally noticing how Fiona was staring at her. More intensely, almost scaring the living daylights out of Sasha as the princess moved a little back.
Something was wrong with these siblings.
She was trying to be positive about all of this but everything around her was giving her a negative energy.
Her gut feeling was telling her that going to the Kastron kingdom would only add more hardships and suffering to her life.
But she couldn't do anything about it.
"Is something wrong?" Sasha asked lowly, her voice cracking in the middle.
"No, I was just wondering," Fiona said, she looked in a daze. "If you don't mind me asking, what are you thinking about?" Sasha asked softly and politely and the girl answered in a daze.
"There is no doubt as to why he's so overly obsessed with you. You're so kind and soft, I feel sorry for you." Fiona said and Sasha's smile dropped instantly as she stared at Fiona a little stunned.
"What?" Sasha asked and Fiona blinked several times, finally out of her trance of thoughts as she just realized what she said.
"Ahhh...I...I was talking about Jasper." Fiona said and Sasha's frown deepened making Fiona realize that the excuse was almost third dimensional.
Jasper and obsessed with Sasha?
She needed to replace Jasper's name with that monster. Seriously, where did she even get this idea from?
Sasha said nothing to that and just passed her a tight-lipped fake smile. Denying this might raise questions in Fiona's head.
They went on for a while before resting.
They rested for half an hour before they began the journey again. Since, this time Fiona was sitting on the window side, Sasha noticed how Jasper kept coming up to the window.
Sasha asked Fiona if she was uncomfortable with her blood's smell, she'd step out and ride the horse even if it wasn't a good action to commit in her menstrual cycle.
Fiona denied.
Soon the blue sky was covered with night fury and they all arrived at the Kastron Kingdom.
**********
*Knock* *Knock*
A knock resonated in the room followed by a wavering voice.
"My k-king, they have a-arrived."
The room fell in silence but the bed made a slight creaking sound soon after as he stepped down and fixed his robe. Raked a hand down his long dark silver hair while walking up to the window. He put his hand on the wall beside the window and leaned forward. A woman could be seen lying on the bed behind him, she was on her stomach, and she was fully dressed but her clothes were disheveled and her eyes were wide open. Her skin color had gone pale and blood had stopped pouring out from the two puncture holes in her neck.
He stared out of the window.
An evil smirk made its way on his lips as he poked the inside of his cheek with his tongue in utter excitement. She was right in front of his sight, his eyes traveled with each step of hers that she took towards his castle and her cage.
His jaw twitched upon seeing Jasper right beside her, the vertical scar on his jaw flexing.
"It's time to listen to the master."
