"Where were you yesterday? Did you get my message?"
While stuffing food in her mouth Sana was interrogating Ash in the college canteen.
"How many times have I told you not to speak with food stuffed in your mouth?" Once she choked and threw chewed food on Ash's face; due to her habit of speaking while eating, he is disgusted by it since then.
"How many times have I told you to call back when you see someone's missed call notification?" She imitated him.
"Okay fine. I will do that," he said at once.
"Seriously?" She knew what was coming.
"I will.. try... to do that," he added.
"Knew it," she replied instantly.
"Anyway, why did you call me?" he came to the point finally.
"Did you read my message?" he nodded in disagreement.
"Read it now." She added.
He smiled vaguely at the message, "So you finally remember her?"
"No dude, it was literally a blurred memory; triggered by a colored bracelet. This is why I wanted to ask you what were you exactly talking about." she wanted him to clear her confusion but he had no intention to do so.
"You know, you can answer this question way better than me. Just have some patience you will find out."
"Can't you just be clear about everything?" She was confused why he was not being clear.
"That's because I also don't remember it clearly otherwise why would I waste time like this? Adios." He then stood up and headed to his next class.
"I think he hurt his head somewhere yesterday that's why he is saying things that don't make sense," she murmured after he left.
"My words do make sense you idiot," he shouted facing his back towards Sana while he was walking away.
"How did he hear it? Did I say it out loud?" She was wondering just then she got a text, it was from Ash:
Nope you didn't
"Oh! God, is he psychic or something, never told me about it." She wondered.
Later Sana concluded that now only Suzy can tell, what the hell happened so, she went to find her in another block where Suzy told her classes are but she was unable to find her. Being the new student she didn't even know many people, some of them were from her hostel so she asked them but they didn't know Suzy. Sana didn't have much time between her classes so she went back after a few minutes and then came back in the next break still she didn't get hold of Suzy.
In the evening she decided to ask the warden about Suzy's room number. As soon as she reached the hostel she went towards the staff room where most of the time the warden stays doing absolutely nothing.
"Ma'am a student named Suzy changed her room in the hostel yesterday?"
"Yes she did," she replied firmly.
"Can you please tell me which room she went to?"
"She.. canceled her hostel facility and moved out this morning."
"Ma'am I am talking about Suzy the new student." She was unable to believe that Suzy was this intimidated by the library incident she would go to this extent to avoid her.
"Yes I am indeed talking about her, she is the first student to move out of the hostel on the second day itself." told the warden.
"Was she so intimidated by the library incident incident that she is going to this extent to avoid me? Gosh! She is giving me chills." Sana was irritated by Suzy's strange behaviour. Sana went to her hostel room got fresh and decided to throw all the strange thoughts in the trash, "Wait a minute.... I came here to this college to study, to enjoy, and to have fun not to waste my precious time for someone who is running away from me that too without telling me the reason."
"Enough is enough, now I will focus only on myself without giving a shit to this insane Tom and Jerry game," she murmured. After a while she headed to the mess for evening snacks there she checked her messages, one of the messages was from the college fresher's group she opened it. It was a soft copy of the Club membership form of her college she got excited as soon as she saw that. She filled out the form and sent it to the stationary for printout. She received a message to get the hard copy of the filled form tomorrow morning. Now her mood was all set, just then she remembers the college photobook,
"Last time I couldn't open it because of Suzy, I will go and check it out tomorrow."
Later Sana went to the rehearsal room she turned on her favourite song to refresh her mood with a little bit of dancing. The few minutes session turned into a one-hour session but she enjoyed her time there.
"May I come in sir?" Sana came late this morning but it's fine because this is not a school so nobody cares if you come late or don't even come to class.
'I like this phase of my life, I don't have to feel guilty about being late to classes unlike before.' Her thoughts make her smile while she went and sat on the second last row.
After the class, she headed straight to the library, on the way she got Ash's call.
"Hello?"
"Stop there immediately," said Ash.
Sana looked around but she couldn't find Ash, "Where are you?" she asked.
"Just coming. Since when did you start studying so brilliantly?"
"I am not going to study," replied Sana.
"Then what else? To read the same old novels?"
"No. I have some work you go with your new friends don't bother me." she continued walking.
"Okay fine. Byeee." Ash went somewhere else.
As soon as Sana reached the library she took out the college photo book.
'I don't know why this fascinates me maybe because I like photographs and memories.' she thought the only reason is, it being a photo album but there is more to the story.
She flipped some pages the photographs were arranged from recent to old ones so she thought there must be photographs till 2015 only but as she turned to another page she saw the heading BATCH OF 2014 she was confused, "What was that? Didn't this college celebrate its seventh year this year? Am I wrong?"
"But I definitely remember that it was the seventh anniversary."
She then flipped some more pages but the number of years doesn't seem to end the numbers decreased more and more. Now she was confused even more.
"What the hell is this?"
