She Woke up

Sana stopped like a statue when Ash entered again.

"This f**king book is the root of all problems." He was so furious that he went towards the table, picked up that book and tore it into two halves.

"No!" screamed Sana and she opened her eyes. She felt relieved when she realised that it was a dream. Her parents came running inside the room, they looked so happy their eyes were lit up as if they had found their lost daughter.

"Sana! My dear you woke up." Saying this her mom hugged her tightly and her eyes were filled with tears. Her father's eyes were also filled with tears which he was trying to hide but in vain.

"Mom, Dad, why are you both crying? It was just a small concussion. I am sorry I made you worry." Sana tried to calm her parents.

"Sana, do you remember what happened before you passed out?" asked her dad.

"Yeah! I do remember. I went to the fresher's party where I passed out and then Ash brought me to the hospital, then I fell asleep." She replied. But her parents were confused.

"You know mom he stayed here all the time till morning and he looked really tired and worried." she added.

"Who is Ash? And... When did you go to a fresher's party? You didn't tell us." Asked her dad.

"Dad, why are you asking such questions? You know Ash very well. Aashish I am talking about him and yesterday morning I told you that I will go to a fresher's party. How can you be so clueless?" Sana was taken aback at her father's words.

"No dear, none of this has ever happened," said her mom.

"Mom, you too?" Sana was shocked to know that her mom who treated Ash as her own son was saying this.

"Sana, you have been in a coma for the last two months. That day you left home in a hurry saying that you got a hint about a person you were trying to reach and then later you got into an accident. Since then you were in a coma, it's been two whole months we prayed each every second for you to recover soon." explained her mom without even taking a breath.

"Not in some fresher's party or anything. You went there to look for Suzanne or whatever because she was somehow linked to the disappearance of Aashish. You have to accept now that he is no more, he died that day Sana. When will you understand? We want you to be happy in life, to move on in life, not to be stuck in your past." said her mom in a cracked voice. Sana's dad consoled her mother.

Sana was literally so shocked, she fell silent for half an hour. It took her time to digest whatever she experienced was all her imagination or dream. No doubt she remembered everything that happened after, mom explained to her but still she was in major shock of that not being a reality.

"It's fine ma'am patients in coma dreams which may seem to be real. She will be alright once she is healthy. Since she remembers both of you it means her memory is perfectly fine." Doctor came inside the room just in time and heard enough things to explain Sana's situation to her parents.

"Doctor, when can we take her home?" Her father asked, since the day she was admitted to hospital he has missed his daughter everyday. Her absence at home made him anxious every now and then.

"I will get her a normal health checkup done, only after that I can tell you about her discharge." He replied.

Sana was not paying attention to all these conversations, she was completely zoned out. When the doctor came near her to check her condition only then she came back to reality. She looked up, to face the doctor. That's when she again felt that extreme fear which she was feeling in her dream on fresher's party day. She started shaking like a leaf.

"Mom, Dad I want to leave this place right now." She demanded.

"It's a matter of a few hours then we will leave. Get your checkup done." said her mom.

"No mom, I want to leave this place right now." she said again.

"But Sana...."

"Right now I say. Otherwise I will leave on my own." She interrupted her mom and then started removing the syringe from her hand and got off the bed.

"Okay fine we will leave now I will get all the paperwork done you take her to the car." said her dad and went to complete payment and paperwork. Her mom started packing her belongings and then they headed out of the hospital towards their car.

The doctor didn't utter a word.
