Chapter 50

(Kylian's POV)

I ran as fast as I could, but I still didn't reach there faster than my mother. By the time I arrived at the door, my mother and Della were already clashing inside.

I heard how much my mother was cursing at Della and she continued on trying to hurt her, but Della simply avoided her.

All my mother's words were so harsh and unreasonable that I admire how Della could still remain calm and composed at this moment.

'I'm so wrong. I should've protected you before instead of hurting you more.' I couldn't help but silently say the words I wanted her ears to hear.

Just then, I was reminded of the time when I asked her about her reason.

"If you didn't want the money or the title, why did you stay after I found Flora?"

I should've known. After all those hardships, belittling, and insults she faced while being married to me, she stayed.

She endured everything.

She used to love me so unselfishly. Now I fully understand.
