In the midst of the turbulent 1960s, Lude Xing and Lian Pu were born on opposite sides of Chung Ying Street. Despite hearing about it for the past 20 years, Lude had never set foot there. In 1986, he was confined to a "private clinic" on Chung Ying Street, where he met Lian three months later.

It was a gender correction centre.

Against all odds, they fell in love and together endured the hardships of the institution before finally escaping.
