But suddenly, the boy woke up in a bed. Due to a man who was treating him, he found out he was in a hospital. He was taken there by a female firefighter who arrived on the scene at the last second before the boy had died.
The boy had no home. He lost his house, his family, and even some of his face. The woman who saved him came by every day to visit him. She felt a special connection with the boy. Pretty soon, when he fully recovered a few months later, he was set to go to an orphanage.
However, the woman took pity on him. With the boy's background and face, there was no way he'd end up in a good household. So, she decided to adopt him. After only a few weeks, he was under her rooftop. She even gave him his name. Yoshi.
2 years later, Yoshi was outside with his mom, playing on the swing set. A big smile ran across his face. However, it was covered by the face mask that he always had to always wear to hide his scars. The love the two shared was brilliant and bright. The two had grown to love each other like mother and son. Nothing could break their bond. But things weren't always sunshine and rainbows.
When, Yoshi was in elementary school, some kids pushed him off the monkey bars. This made him hit his head on the solid, rocky ground, busting it open. Blood flowed down his eyes as he looked up at the laughing students. Later, his mom picked him up, panicking once she saw his face. When she asked him what happened, he told her he just swung wrong on the monkey bars. He didn't want her to get involved and potentially hurt because of his problems. Still, his mom bandaged his face. She rubbed his head and kissed his wound. Then, suddenly, she fainted. Yoshi called the hospital. After taking her there and the doctors did a check-up on her, he got heartbreaking news. She had grown ill with cancer.
He went through his days depressed. He prayed every day that his mother would be spared. That he would be blessed to see her smile again. The students at school only got worse. The kids shoved Yoshi's face into the desk, breaking his nose. But even at this moment, all he could think about was his mother. She was in the hospital. His only hope was for her to stop hurting.
In the afternoon, he was in the hospital with his mom. She was suffocating. Her breath grew weaker and weaker. Yoshi couldn't bear to see his mother in pain. So, he gave her anesthesia to knock her out and stabbed her in the head, making her death painless. He cried while holding his mom's corpse. In his eyes, in his mind, she was finally free. No more useless son, no more struggling household, no more long nights at work, no more trouble breathing, and no more cancer. She was free from it all. At least, that's the only logic his twisted child brain could think of.
The next day, some kids at Yoshi's school were trashing his mom, calling her useless, a bimbo, and a bitch. When Yoshi heard this, he snapped. He took a rock on the ground and repeatedly bashed one of the kid's heads in till he was nothing more than a red mess. His two other friends tried to stop Yoshi, but he murdered them too. From that day on, Yoshi forever changed.
He had three main bullies. The first was a boy and the student council president. Yoshi went over to his house and hung his dead parents' corpses in front of him. He then sealed him inside his house and burned the house down with him in it.
He also had a female bully. His mind controlled her older brother with hypnosis, making the teenager assault his little sister. She cried as her brother tore her flesh apart while raping her. And Yoshi stood above her the whole time, sadistically smiling at her.
Yoshi had one last bully. He trapped his third bully in a room with his dog. The room started to flood and the only way out was a key that was in the Dog's liver. So, the little boy was forced to kill his own dog in order to escape. He cried and broke down as his dog cried in anguish. But even when he got the key, the door wouldn't open and he drowned.
He didn't stop at his bullies. He became a full murderer at 9 years old. He'd kill anyone who he disliked. The people in his neighborhood started to fear a serial killer who brutally tormented their victims. It got so bad that Yoshi started to murder innocent people just because it felt good. Seeing people in pain brought him pleasure because it made him forget his own pain. It also gave him a sense of power and control he never felt in his life before. He did many horrible things. He burned an orphanage, shot up a school, stabbed a pregnant woman, and did many, many more awful things to people.
Eventually, he was found by Willow and her father. Yoshi's memory was hazed since then, so he didn't know how to recount the details of the encounter. But ever since that day, he started living with his third family. Though he was extremely hostile at first, he eventually came back to his senses after being beaten down by Willow.
Alice looked at Yoshi, who hid his face in shame. He not only looked regretful, he looked disgustded by what he just explained. Alice was also stunned and didn't know what to say in response.
"So... that's why." Yoshi said softly. "You should look for someone better than... me."
Yoshi wanted Alice to resent him. He wanted her to reject and hate him. He always did, but he was clouded by the idea of love. He loved Alice so much it hurt and the one thing that would kill him inside is if Alice walked away from him. It's why he was selfish and kept his past from her. But at the same time, he felt awful because he made Alice hang around a monster like himself. As much as he adored Alice, he couldn't lie to her. She deserved better, and he knew it. So, he finally told her. That was, just maybe, so she could find someone better. She had Belle now, after all, so he felt he was no longer important in her life.
"... Yoshi, do you regret your actions?"
"Y-Yeah..."
"Are you trying to rectify your past mistakes?... If so, you're more of a hero than you think."
"What?"
"Were you a horrible person who probably deserved death? Yes. But you were also a victim. You're broken, and more importantly, when I look at you, I don't see a monster. I see a kind, brave, strong, sweeter-than-sugar person... That was a little cringe. Look, as long as you try to grow from your past actions and reject them, that's enough for me."
"A-Alice." Tears began to fall down Yoshi's face. He fell to his knees and covered his face with his hands. Alice bent down to hug him, lovingly stroking the back of his head. "T-Thank you..."
"No. Thank you for trusting me enough to open up."
"I really really really do like you... I-I hope it's not too late to redeem that confession."
"Sorry, but your ticket expired. But I'll let you buy another one for the small price of a kiss."
Without hesitating, Yoshi hugged and locked lips with Alice. The two embraced as their tongues danced around each other. Then let go after a full minute with a saliva bridge being built between their lips.
"Your membership has been redeemed." Alice said jokingly with a loving smile on her face. "Thank you for your transaction. Your expiration date is never. No refunds. You're now stuck with this needy puppy."
Yoshi chuckled and went back in to kiss her again.
