Luna didn't normally like to frequent places like these; but today, she was leaning on the bar counter and downing glasses of wine. The woman squinted at the strangers who were mingling around the room.
"Are you alone, miss?"
Someone placed their hand on her shoulder and used this chance to stroke it. Luna shuddered under their touch and flung the hand away in disgust. "Piss off."
As he spoke, the man leaned in. Luna pushed the man away and stood up in shock, wobbling on her feet. She shook her head to clear her thoughts, but her head still felt heavy and dizzy. Her body also felt unwell. "I said piss off! What part of it do you not understand?"
She stumbled around and almost fell down. Out of nowhere, a large hand suddenly grabbed her delicate wrist.
Dexter looked at the girl in his arm.
"Hey! Let go of the girl."
Soon, a few man rushed over and encircled Dexter, Stephen, Luna.
Luna glanced at Dexter and saw that he silently took a step backward to shield her right.
"Who're you? Piss off!" One of the man was so angry that he shouted tremblingly without even looking at Dexter.
At that moment, Luna eyelids slowly feel drowsy. All she remember was that she was comfortably leaning to someone.
-----
Next morning Luna opened her eyes to find herself in an unfamiliar room. She was naturally in a daze after waking up. She stared dumbfoundedly at everything in this room.
"Finally decided to wake up, did you?" Someone asked coldly. Luna quickly turned her attention to the door. The man standing there radiated elegance and beauty.
"Where am I?" Luna asked.
Dexter arched an eyebrow, but he didn't answer her question. Instead, he went to pour a glass of water and handed it to Luna.
She paused for a moment before taking the glass and downing the water in one gulp. Her actions were so fast and uncontrolled that it almost seemed rude. After she was quenched, the woman looked at Dexter with her guard up. "Thank you for last night, President Kings, but..." She looked down at the clothes she was wearing.
"Don't worry, Miss Jones. Nothing happened last night." Dexter didn't answer her question straight up, but his reply gave her the answer she needed, while evading any awkward moments that might have happened.
Luna wanted to say something, but she had no idea what she should say. "Okay...I will take my leave."
"What about my answer?" Dexter buttoned up his sleeve and looked at her calmly.
A sense of danger crept up on her. A hunch told her that this man question wasn't a joke.
Luna took a deep breath. "Then, Can you send away Robert Kings?"
"Is that your condition?" Dexter simply replied.
"Huh?" Instantly surprised, Luna looked up and stared at him in disbelief.
Dexter said, "I'll take care of your mother's medical fees if you marry me."
Luna clenched her fists. Three years ago, her mother ran into a car accident and had been in a vegetative state ever since then. She had been living frugally these years in order to pay the medical bills.
But how did Dexter know about this? Luna couldn't bother to mull over the question because the offer was highly tempting.
"I can hire the best medical team for your mother."
For some reason, Luna felt a moment of fear, although that feeling disappeared shortly after.
"My wants are simple and I don't like anything complicated, so I've never considered a divorce. All you need to do is make my grandma happy."
Luna stared into Dexter's eyes, as though trying to find something within them. Dexter also looked at her, and their gazes locked. Feeling rather discouraged, Luna retracted her gaze. "Alright."
-----
Dexter sent Luna back to her place. She took her identity document and left swiftly.
Everything happened in haste.
After walking out of the Home Affairs Bureau, felt it was a dream when she looked at the marriage certificate in her hand. Then, she gazed at the suit-clad, tall man beside her.
With her palm feeling rather warm, she again stared at the certificate in disbelief. "So I'm married now?"
Dexter had no intention of wasting more time with Luna. He stared at her nonchalantly with his almond-shaped eyes and said, "My villa is in Mason Garden. I'll send the address and password to you later. You may move in tonight."
"Huh?" Her eyes widened as he stared at Dexter.
Dexter narrowed his eyes. "I know that this marriage came out of the blue, but that is our reality now, and I hope you remember that!"
Luna frowned. She was taken aback and stared at Dexter without a word.
Dexter furrowed his brows. "Don't give me the look like I force you to marry me."
Luna inhaled deeply. "Luna, You have gone crazy! How can you get married without thinking twice?" She slapped herself in her mind.
Luna's lips thinned before she nodded, "I was just...Sorry."
