"If we sleep in separate rooms here- we'd be exposed, Mrs. Kings." Dexter said.
"I'll shower first " He added.
"I'll shower first. It sounded like part of a conversation a new couple would have before experiencing their first intimacy!
Luna blinked, "What about me?"
Dexter frowned.
"I mean, what about me after you've showered? I didn't bring any clothes." She needed a shower. It had been a long day.
An hour later, Luna opened the bathroom door quietly. She lower her head and look at herself. She was wearing Dexter's shirt. But it was so short that it barely covered her legs. A slight movement would expose her underwear.
"Dexter, can you switch off the lights? Well... My legs."
The man was lying on the bed in his pajamas after a shower. He was reading the news. He raised his hands to switch off the lights. The room turned dark instantly. Luna took a deep breath before walking out of the bathroom. "Dexter, where should I sleep?"
There was only one bed.
"Go to bed" He paused a while before he continued, "Don't worry. I'm not interested in you."
Luna couldn't understand herself anymore. She married her boss and now sharing a bed.…
Luna could not sleep. She had never slept with a man her whole life.
Moreover, Dexter smelled nice. This is weird. We used the same shower cream. Why does his smell exceptionally pleasant? Luna gripped tightly onto the blanket. She could hear her own heart pounding wildly.
"Dexter… Are you asleep?" She dared not move.
"Yes?"
Dexter's voice was hoarse from, perhaps, sleepiness.
"Can I ask you something?" Luna said.
"Yes.... "
"Your sister... Why she is trying to commit suicide?"
She was met with silence. After a while Dexter sneered, "Luna, don't be so curious about my personal affairs."
Luna cleared her throat. She understand the meaning behind it. Even though she is his wife, he didn't considered her as a family member.
-----
The first person Luna saw when she opened her eyes was Dexter. The man's face looked huge. She was actually sleeping in Dexter's arms, on his bed, under the same blanket and he was holding her close to him. She gulped the scream that wanted to escape from her throat and tried removing his arms, slowly but surely, away from her waist.
Lord, please don't let him think anything about this. Please let him sleep for a little while more. She was praying mentally while slowly moving away from him. She moved and moved, unknowingly, she was already at the edge on her side of the bed.
THUMP!
She fell and landed with her butt on the floor. 'Thank God! It's carpeted.' She thought to herself while rubbing her butt cheek which still hurt even though there was a carpet. She tried feeling herself and found that there wasn't anything wrong with her.
She looked at her sleeping boss one last time. After making sure that he was still asleep, she silently ran and walked out of the room.
On the other hand, Dexter had a wide smile on his lips. He wanted to laugh at her when she fell on the floor but he stopped himself to avoid embarrassing her. The moment Luna touched his arm to remove it away from her waist, he was already awake but, he pretended to sleep.
In dinning room
Luna buried her face in her bowl. She did not dare raise her head and look at Dexter.
Suddenly Luna's phone rang.
"Please excuse me, Grandma. It's from work."
"Sure, sure."
After Luna walked away, Emily gazed at him solemnly.
"Be honest with me, Dexter. Did you date Luna and marry her because of Alice?"
The truth was Luna's appearance resembled Alice's
Dexter's hand, which was holding the glass, stopped midair for a second before he put it down and said, "Yes, Grandma. That was indeed the case in the beginning. But I genuinely love her as who she is now."
Emily smiled in satisfaction. "I'm glad you guys are truly in love with each other. Now that I have seen you marry the woman you love, I have no regrets in this life."
Dexter smile as he hummed in response.

"Grandma, I must hurry to work, or I'll be late!"
Dexter took his car keys and said, "Do you want me to drop you in office?."
"No...in my apartment." Luna said as she curled herself up in a corner to distance herself from Dexter.
Upon arriving, Luna said thank you before she came down from the car.
Dexter burst into laughter when he remembered the morning scene.
When he started the engine, someone knocked on the window. Dexter raised his head and saw a man outside his car.
He gazed through the window and smiled coldly.
Robert had been waiting downstairs for Luna since early morning. He had knocked on the door for a long time and tried to call her, but she blocked him.
When a car pulled over outside Luna's building, he began to observe it. The car had not stopped for a long time. But he was surprised when Luna opened the door and scurried away from the car.
