Cat & Loser

The sun wasn't still up when Raven left the tavern, she had a terrible hungover, she drank too much yesterday getting carried away by that stupid Wormtongue, she didn't remember very clearly all the details, but he spilled the beans about this very important person she is supposed to meet outside the dungeon, still, she regretted using all her saves drinking instead of buying the potion. Being a responsible adult sucked, it was so much easier to just steal all the drinks...

'But then I wouldn't have anywhere to hide' She sighted.

It's so hard being an honest person and being forced to work. Still talking about work, there were tons of people walking around even at this hour, not even close to other cities or towns. Well on the farm people woke up early, but that usually wasn't the case in a city, and considering the place, probably a lot of people didn't even sleep, the dungeon called to them, and also the massive amount of money called the greedy merchants who kept their shops up all day and night.

"Skewered Rat! Buy your Skewered rat!" Screamed a guy surrounded by many starving people, most of them looking for some relief after eating other suspicious stuff.

With a look of disgust, she walked away, but everything that was offered by the merchants in the street looked fishy...

"Sewer fish, buy your roasted sewer fish!"

'Damn poverty sucks' She thought while walking with her arms crossed.

As she made her way across the filthy streets, she came across many people, most of those who lived in the streets, even if they were alive, looked so dead. Many had come here seeking to forge a name but ended up as empty husks, be it because of losing everything in the dungeon, or because of the many illicit that abounded in these parts of the city. She didn't even bother with them, she was very used to the misery of the people.

"It's amazing" She said gazing up at the gigantic tower of the dungeon "It's incredible how something can hold so much power, even for me, who hasn't even set foot inside, I can feel it calling to me like a spell"

The curse of the dungeon, many called it like that, attracted the living like moths to the fire, she once heard a drunk scholar talking about it as if it was alive, which sounded incredibly stupid in her mind, there was no way a building can be alive after all. While submerged in those memories she arrived at the meeting place, where a solitary figure waited for her.

"Ho..." A young man exclaimed he was wearing leather armor and a cloak that covered his hair and hid his face... still... "I see that gentleman Wormhonge wasn't lying when he said you were pretty" He then pointed his finger at Raven in a strange way while doing a strange pose "It must be destiny, for me to meet you here, fair lady... fufufu..."

'I want to go back to bed...'

Her mood soured really fast. For starters, she could feel his gaze all over her body, second, he dressed like an idiot and had too many belts strapped around his body, and most importantly he remembered the name of that useless Wormtongue, this is one is good for nothing. Ah, and she had a bad feeling about this.

"So you are the one that the goddess appointed as a companion for this journey that begins today!"

'Yeah, he is totally one of those summoned dogs' But still... she scanned the area around him, he looked really weak, but there weren't any bodyguards around... how odd.

"Our meeting marks the beginning of my revenge arc!"

Then she understood, that he was mostly alone because most of the people around this place wouldn't tolerate someone like him, it was a miracle that he was still alive, and she didn't understand what he meant about that arc thing, but she could get something about revenge... those foreigners usually talked like this.

'I hate you Wormtongue! I will cut out that tongue of yours next time we meet!' She sighed and looked him straight in the eyes as she pointed one finger towards her chest and gave herself gentle hits "Ooookay?" She finally said, "So you are?"

The guy standing still for some moments reached in hand to the cloak that covered his face, she could swear he was smiling under that hood, he was waiting for this moment, hell, maybe he even planned this moment.

"Hooo" He said to pretend to be more important "Why of course, my name is... Ito Aoto"

"..."

After an awkward silence where they both stared at each other, Raven smiled politely.

"Good morning" And she turned around.

She wasn't having any of this crap. This man screamed trouble, she already had her share of summoned idiots to be babysitting one of them, and she didn't understand why that bigoted guard tried to put her in contact with this one in particular.

"Wait! Don't abandon me too!" He suddenly screamed dropping the charade.

'Nope!' She thought as she tried to get away.

"Come on you can't leave me alone! Not after those idiots from the castle brought me here to get rid of me!"

'Nope nope nope!' She smiled as she was reaching for the dagger near her waist... when she heard a big group of people coming near "Look Tom" She said pointing one finger towards him exasperated.

"My name is..."

"Dont care, didn't hear, won't remember" She interrupted him fast "You better do some explaining or else..."

As the big group passed by them, she smiled and weaved, they were heavily armed and armored, a fat chance that they were way stronger than her at the moment and she didn't want to raise any flag for her to be recognized, other than a street artist of course which was her entire disguise.

'Suddenly that sewer fish doesn't sound like a bad idea'
