"Oh I'll be right there." Liam said, then the man nodded and walked back out. "Right. Can we get over this plan real quick, so I know just how shitty my life is about to become?"
Clarissa took a while before replying. She was wondering who that young man had been. "Right. I have made my research over Sun mi, and she has just got off a recent heartbreak. So our dear pop star is heartbroken." She explained, then went on to give details as to how the breakup had happened.
"Wow, did you even sleep at all?" Denis muttered.
Clarissa ignored and went on. "In a nut shell, we have to make her happy again. And I have just the perfect idea. That's where you come in, pretty boy." She smiled, turning to Liam.
"Wait wait, hold on." Stella said, "so you think after her heartbreak, Sun Mi would just come around and hug Liam? She could deny him, have you thought of that?"
"Yes." Clarissa smiled. "Which is why I stored down Sun Mi's agency contacts. I understand a few things of how the industry works. I stalked her page and realize her fans were mourning for her. If only we could provide a boyfriend for her so she could flaunt to her fans..." She made her eyelid droop, then burst into a wild grin. "But, alas! We have Liam over here. All he has to do is to become the popstar's fake boyfriend for a while, until she has signed the contract."
Everywhere was silent for a while. Denis was the first to talk. "This isn't going to work."
Stella sighed. "I'm sorry, dear. But Mr. Denis is right. We'll need to be able to really convince her and her agency in such a short period of time. Besides, they would probably already have a backup boyfriend by now. Why would they even give us a shot? I doubt if your plan will work."
Clarissa was about to give up all hope until Liam spoke out. "Not if we don't give it a trial first." He saw her face lightened up and he rolled his eyes. "Well, it couldn't hurt. All we have to do is try to reach Sun mi's agency. Then talk sense into them, that's all. We might have a shot. See, whoever they'll be trying to match with her will be demanding a lot. But we? All we want is for her to sign the deal. We'll be cheap as fuck compared to others."
"Thank you so much! I know, right?" Clarissa cried out in excitement.
"Or we could get totally fucked up. I'll certainly blame you if anything goes wrong then." Liam added and Clarissa frowned. "Well, excuse me a while, I'll be right back." He said before walking out.
"Mrs Stella, please assign the duties to us. I'm ready to work." Clarissa sat up with her chin high up, ready for whatever her own task would be. She would give it her all.
Stella walked over to her and made her voice extra loud for Denis sake. He always hated working so he'd always lie that he was never aware when serious announcements were being made.
"So, I will assign you and Mr. Denis to reach out to the agency. Liam and I will draft out our proposal for them, and also go through the company's deal that had been submitted to Sun mi before. See if it could be improved."
"Jeez, woman. No need to yell like that." Denis squeezed his face as he said.
Clarissa only smiled. The chemistry going on between those two was always so cute, if only they could stop fighting all the time.
"It's still a wonder to me though," Denis said, calling everyone around. Stella hesitated before joining them. "Am I the only one who notice the strange friendship between pretty boy and the workshop manager? They're always meeting each other nearly every week! Don't the boss have something better to do? Plus, pretty boy is always meeting people. Everyone just always have a thing to say to him even though he's only a new staff!"
Stella rolled her eyes and slapped Denis on the cheeks, though playfully. "I've told you to stop gossiping about people." She ignored the frown on Denis face as he held his cheeks. "But it's true, their bond is rather weird. Pretty boy can be mysterious when he wants to be, alright."
Clarissa realized the name 'pretty boy' was starting to get popular as his nickname. She found herself smiling to that and wondered what people might be calling her behind her back or eventually, straight to her very face soon enough.
Denis nodded. "You know, despite him being known as pretty boy, he doesn't have a girlfriend! Who is that hot and rich like him, and not have a boyfriend!"
Clarissa leaned forward. "He's rich?"
"Of course!" Denis exclaimed. "There is something up with that kid. I think he's a spy. Like he was sent by the CIA to investigate some sort of crime. I always try to be on my best behavior around him, you see."
"Really? Ha! You wish, Denis. I'm sure if there's anyone he despises more than the CEO, you'd come as number one." Stella snorted.
Clarissa let all that sink in her head. She heard Denis give a counterattack but Clarissa wasn't paying too much attention. Maybe she too would just have to be weary around him then. The door pushed open again as a man's head leaned forward.
"Um, I'm told to call for miss Clarissa?" He said slowly.
Clarissa gave a start. "Me? I'm Clarissa Hart. Who's calling for me?" She asked the man.
"The CEO, Mr. Elan." He replied. Clarissa froze right on spot. Why would he be calling her??
Denis yelled at the man. "We get it, Steve. Now leave, she's on her way already!" That sent the Steve guy running off.
"Come, let me go with you." Denis said, holding her as he led her out.
"Oh please, no need to be dramatic, Denis!" Stella cried out. "You can't miss his office, dear. It's straight forward, the first turning to the right. It's a big office." She said to Clarissa, adding one of her convincing smiles. Though Clarissa was far from calm.
She smiled and walked out of the office, ignoring Denis pretend sobs. How hard could it be? But why was he calling her though?
