The next day, Clarissa was seating face to face with her worst nightmare, Desdra. But she wasn't about to show how it bothered her so. Her hair was longer now and she still did not go so easy on her makeup, but she was beautiful regardless.
"I'm glad you reached out to me. For a second there, I had thought that you wouldn't." Desdra said.
"I care about the company, more than you ever did. Now, what do you want Desdra?" Clarissa shot back at her.
"Nothing much, really. I want to personally invite you to Elan's birthday party. That's all." Desdra said and Clarissa blinked.
"What? Me, of all people."
"I know. But Elan and I had thought about it carefully, and yes, I feel it will be amazing seeing you there. It's this Saturday, I'm pretty sure you've been sent an IV before, but you ignored?"
Clarissa leaned forward, "and if I happen to be extremely busy that Saturday, what will happen to the contract with the Renato group?"
