Becoming Earth's Strongest

After being Attacked by an alien while on vacation our lead, Jacob Asaph, learns that by defeating the alien in combat he has taken its genetic essence as its new master becoming less, or more than human. He will learn of this species power to consume and incorporate the genetic materials of other creatures to better themselves and hunt for himself and how they incorporate the memories of their prey into their hivemind, of which Jacob is now a leader of his own. However, due to the young alien suffering a loss on its first mission for its hive, more of its kind will arrive to test Jacob in fights to the death to see if he is worthy of having their power. Can Jacob become earths strongest and defend his planet from becoming this species' hunting grounds by assimilating earths creatures and being a better hunter himself?

This novel will be set on earth and will not have any space travel, if/when I complete this I will make a second one with space travel being involved but, for now it will be Jacob traveling earth in search of prey to better himself, there will be fighting humans and aliens will not only have earth DNA to test him, that's all I'll say for now.
