Chapter 202: Anime Commentary
"Wow, wow, wow, teacher! Your two songs are incredibly popular with everyone!" Wu Shiqing exclaimed excitedly as she looked at the reactions in the comment section and the barrage of comments on C-Station.
Lin Qingshan was also browsing C-Station at the moment. After re-watching his two videos along with the barrage of comments, he felt an immense sense of satisfaction.
"Satisfaction is the word! Absolute satisfaction!" he muttered with a content smile.
"As long as the audience loves it, I'm happy," he added, visibly pleased.
"Teacher… you're truly amazing…"
Sensing Lin Qingshan's good mood, Chen Chunqiang quickly chimed in with some praise: "The composition and lyrics of these two songs are absolute masterpieces!"
However, Lin Qingshan, clearly embarrassed by such direct flattery, waved it off with a cough. "Alright, alright, let's get back to work, everyone," he instructed Wu Shiqing, Chen Chunqiang, and Ge Jianyutai.
Ge Jianyutai, who had also been planning to compliment Lin Qingshan after hearing Chen Chunqiang, held back and joined the others in nodding. "Yes, teacher."
Lin Qingshan, feeling a bit awkward from the praise, tried to play it cool by returning to his laptop.
But deep down, he was gleefully thinking: Browsing C-Station is so much fun!
Compared to working, spending time on C-Station felt much more entertaining.
Especially since he had hired three assistants, Lin Qingshan found himself with a lot more free time. He only needed to handle the core elements of the manga, leaving the rest to his team.
Though the quality of the art might have dipped slightly since Wu Shiqing, Chen Chunqiang, and Ge Jianyutai didn't have the advantage of his unique skills, it didn't seem to matter much.
After all, Lin Qingshan realized that readers cared more about engaging plots than perfectly polished illustrations.
This epiphany had made him lazier—much like the legendary manga artist Yoshihiro Togashi, who transitioned from being a workaholic to someone more passionate about hobbies.
With financial freedom secured, Lin Qingshan believed he deserved to indulge a little.
So, there he was, refreshing C-Station, fully immersed in the platform's vibrant culture.
Under Lin Qingshan's guidance, C-Station had grown rapidly, even though it still lacked new anime series and a film section. The diversity of its content, however, was unparalleled—ranging from cosplay tutorials and food recipes to gaming guides, educational videos, and gossip commentary.
Many creators on the platform were actually part of the C-Station team, disguised as regular content creators to boost engagement.
The strategy was proving effective, as these "undercover creators" produced videos that the audience adored.
Lin Qingshan stumbled upon a video titled "A Gathering of Misfits: March Anime Round-Up and Commentary!" It was a genre of video he remembered fondly from his previous life.
Finally, someone was producing anime commentary content!
Excited, Lin Qingshan clicked on the video, which featured a creator named "Banzi-kun."
"Today's video is brought to you by your likes, comments, and shares!" Banzi-kun announced before diving into the content.
"With April nearing its end, the March anime season has wrapped up," he began. "Spring is a time of renewal, but the March anime lineup was… a mixed bag, to say the least. Among the chaos, a few masterpieces stood out. Let's dive in!"
The first series he critiqued was "Evolution Chronicles."
"The source material was already a trainwreck, and the animation studio just polished that mess and served it on a platter," Banzi-kun quipped. "It's like unearthing some ancient, smelly artifact from a cave and calling it art."
As Banzi-kun roasted the show, the barrage of comments erupted with laughter:
"Haha, he's so right!"
"Learned a new way to insult a show!"
"My internet spokesperson!"
"These production teams should really retire!"
"Love this style of content—more, please!"
Banzi-kun didn't just critique poorly received shows, though. He praised a few fan-favorites, including Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
"In my opinion, Edgerunners is the crown jewel of March's anime lineup. If sci-fi often shows us humanity's bright future, Edgerunners unveils its dark underbelly," Banzi-kun said.
As he praised the series, the screen showcased dazzling scenes from Edgerunners. Since C-Station held the rights to the anime, Banzi-kun could include as many clips as he wanted, providing a richer experience for viewers.
The comment section exploded with admiration for Edgerunners and its creator, Lin Qingshan, often referred to as the "mad genius" of the industry.
The influx of comments and attention left no doubt: Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was a cultural phenomenon.
