Ling Feng followed behind Jenny as the two walked along a quiet path. Jenny remained silent the entire way, and Ling Feng didn't ask anything about Mike.
After they had walked for some time, Jenny stopped, looked at Ling Feng with a hint of annoyance, and said, "Hey, can't you tell I'm really upset right now?"
Ling Feng nodded. "Of course I can!"
"Then why aren't you comforting me? Isn't that what a gentleman should do?" Jenny pouted.
Ling Feng shrugged. "Sorry, I'm not a gentleman. Besides, I don't think something this small could shake your resolve. Otherwise, you'd never have been groomed as the first heir!"
Jenny rolled her eyes at Ling Feng and huffed, "Hmph, like you know everything, huh? By the way, I should thank you. For pulling Mike away earlier—it at least let me save a bit of face in front of everyone!"
Ling Feng smiled faintly. "Well, you're my friend, right? I'm the kind of person who always stands by my friends, not by reason!"
