Chapter Eight

Agent Ross's eyes widened in shock as he stared at Moselia, the gun still smoking in her hand. She looked up at him, her eyes blazing with a fierce determination.

"I don't think so," she said, her voice low and deadly, echoing the same words Zayn had spoken earlier.

Agent Ross's gaze dropped to the man lying at her feet, the world leader who had been about to take her away. He was dead, a single bullet wound to the head.

Moselia's dress was soaked with blood, her body battered and bruised. But her eyes burned with a fierce inner strength, a determination to survive.

Zayn groaned, stirring beside Agent Ross. "Moselia..." he whispered, his voice weak.

Moselia's gaze flicked to Zayn, her expression softening. "Zayn," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Agent Ross struggled to his feet, his mind reeling with questions. How had Moselia managed to shoot the world leader? And what secrets was she still hiding?

But as he looked at her, he knew that he had underestimated her. She was more than just a pawn in a game of power and deception. She was a survivor, a fighter. And he couldn't help but feel a twisted sense of admiration for her.

"Zayn, agent Ross we have to leave, Any minute now and this tunnel will collapse"

"I have help waiting on the other side, let's go" Zayn said.

Moselia struggled to her feet immediately.

Agent Ross nodded, still trying to process the events that had just unfolded. He helped Zayn to his feet, and together they supported Moselia, who was struggling to stay upright.

As they made their way through the tunnel, the sound of creaking wooden beams and falling debris grew louder. The air was thick with dust, and Agent Ross could feel the weight of the collapsing tunnel bearing down on them.

Suddenly, a section of the tunnel behind them gave way, sending a shower of rocks and dust crashing to the ground. Agent Ross pulled Moselia and Zayn closer, shielding them from the fallout.

"Keep moving!" Zayn yelled above the din of the collapse. "We're almost there!"

The tunnel began to slope upward, and Agent Ross could see a glimmer of light in the distance. He pushed forward, his heart racing with anticipation.

As they emerged from the tunnel, Agent Ross saw a group of heavily armed men waiting for them. They were dressed in black tactical gear, and their faces were obscured by masks.

"Who are these people?" Agent Ross demanded, his hand on his gun.

Zayn smiled. "My team," he said. "They're here to help us get out of here alive."

Moselia leaned into Agent Ross, her eyes fixed on the men. "I don't trust them," she whispered.

Agent Ross's gut told him to trust her instincts. But for now, they had no choice. They had to keep moving.

Immediately they arrived

The bomb exploded, Ross shielded Moselia from the impact and when everything had settled, he breathed in.

Agent Ross slowly got to his feet, his ears ringing from the explosion. He looked around, taking in the devastation. The manor was gone, reduced to a smoldering ruin.

Moselia stirred in his arms, coughing weakly. Agent Ross helped her to her feet, his eyes scanning her for injuries.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice rough from the smoke.

Moselia nodded, her eyes fixed on the ruins. "I think so," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Zayn approached them, his face grimy with soot. "We need to get out of here," he said. "The authorities will be arriving soon."

Agent Ross nodded, his mind racing. They had to get Moselia to safety, and then he had to figure out what had just happened.

As they walked away from the ruins, Agent Ross couldn't shake the feeling that Moselia was still hiding something from him. But for now, he had to trust her.

They reached the waiting vehicles, and Zayn opened the door for Moselia. Agent Ross hesitated, unsure if he should let her go.

But Moselia smiled weakly and touched his arm. "Thank you, Agent Ross," she said. "I owe you one."

And with that, she disappeared into the vehicle, leaving Agent Ross with more questions than answers.

"I want to follow you" he said.

Zayn raised an eyebrow, his expression unreadable. "Are you sure that's a good idea, Agent Ross?" he asked, his voice neutral.

Agent Ross nodded, his mind made up. "I need to know what's going on," he said. "And I need to know that Moselia is safe."

Zayn studied him for a moment, then nodded. "Very well," he said. "But be warned, Agent Ross. Once you're in this, there's no turning back."

Agent Ross nodded, his heart racing with anticipation. He knew that he was taking a risk, but he had to see this through.

He climbed into the vehicle, his eyes fixed on Moselia's pale face. She looked up at him, her eyes searching.

"Thank you," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Agent Ross nodded, his expression grim. He was in this now, and he would see it through to the end.

The moment we arrived at Zayn's house, as Moselia got down from the car, I could feel her shaking.

Immediately she closed her eyes and fainted and before I could reach her.

Zayn caught her.

Agent Ross's heart skipped a beat as he watched Moselia collapse. He rushed to her side, but Zayn was already there, catching her in his arms.

"I've got her," Zayn said, his voice calm and reassuring.

Agent Ross hesitated, unsure of what to do. He looked at Zayn, seeing the concern etched on his face.

"What's wrong with her?" Agent Ross asked, feeling a surge of worry.

Zayn shook his head. "I don't know," he said. "But we need to get her inside. Now."

Without another word, Zayn carried Moselia into the house, Agent Ross following close behind. They entered a spacious living room, and Zayn laid Moselia down on a couch.

Agent Ross watched, feeling helpless, as Zayn checked Moselia's pulse and breathing.

"She's exhausted," Zayn said. "And injured. We need to get her medical attention."

Agent Ross nodded, his mind racing. What had happened to Moselia? And what secrets was she still hiding?

A lady came down the stairs

"Zayn what happened"

"Sophia call the doctor, Mosi is injured"

Sophia's eyes widened as she took in the scene before her. She quickly rushed to Moselia's side, concern etched on her face.

"Oh no, Mosi," she whispered, gently brushing a strand of hair out of Moselia's face.

Zayn nodded at Sophia. "She's been through a lot. We need to get her medical attention, now."

Sophia quickly pulled out her phone and dialed a number. "Dr. Lee, we need you here ASAP. Mosi's been injured."

As Sophia spoke, Agent Ross took in the scene before him. Who was Sophia? And who was Dr. Lee? He looked at Zayn, but his expression was unreadable.

Moselia stirred, her eyes fluttering open. She looked up at Zayn, then Sophia, before her gaze landed on Agent Ross.

"Agent..." she whispered, her voice weak.

Agent Ross stepped forward, his heart racing with concern. "I'm here, Moselia. You're safe now."

But Moselia's eyes clouded, and she shook her head. "No...I'm not safe. None of us are."

And with that, she closed her eyes, leaving Agent Ross with more questions than answers.

"you know something, spill it out now" agent Ross asked me immediately Sophia had left.

He told him everything, the secrets.

How Moselia is part of a much bigger scheme in this game

"She is actually connected to a bigger power called the Erebus Descendants, a group of people who are cunning, intelligent and powerful, from birth she had been experimented on by a neuroscientist"

"Now a group of organisation called umbra will stop at nothing to lay their hands on her and use her for their own good"

"She more powerful than you can imagine but she doesn't know it yet, get memories have been suppressed "

Agent Ross's eyes widened as he listened to Zayn's revelations. He felt like he had been punched in the gut, his mind reeling with the implications.

"Erebus Descendants?" he repeated, trying to process the information. "What do you mean she's connected to them?"

Zayn's expression was grim. "Moselia is a product of their experiments. She has abilities that could change the course of human history. And Umbra will stop at nothing to exploit her for their own gain."

Agent Ross's mind was racing. He thought back to the events at the manor, the way Moselia had taken down the world leader. It all made sense now.

"But why doesn't she know about her powers?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Zayn's eyes clouded. "Her memories have been suppressed. The neuroscientist who experimented on her, Dr. Elwes, he's the one who's been controlling her. But Moselia's starting to remember. And when she does, she'll be unstoppable."

Agent Ross felt a chill run down his spine. He knew he had to protect Moselia, not just from Umbra, but from herself. She was a ticking time bomb, and he had no idea how to defuse her.

"What do we do now?" he asked Zayn, feeling a sense of trepidation.

Zayn's expression was resolute. "We keep her safe. And we help her uncover the truth about her past. It's the only way to stop Umbra and Erebus Descendants."

The doctor came around and treated her, having bandage her head and hand, he turned to look at us.

"She'll be fine, just mentally and physically exhausted"

Agent Ross let out a sigh of relief as the doctor finished speaking. He looked over at Moselia, who was lying on the couch, her eyes closed. She looked so vulnerable, so fragile.

"Thank you, Doctor," Zayn said, his voice filled with gratitude. "We appreciate your help."

The doctor nodded. "Just make sure she gets plenty of rest. And..." he hesitated, looking at Moselia with concern. "She may experience some... flashbacks. Memories. Things she's suppressed. Be prepared for that."

Agent Ross nodded, his mind racing with the implications. He knew that Moselia's memories were key to unlocking the secrets of Erebus Descendants and Umbra. But he also knew that uncovering those memories could be dangerous, for all of them.

As the doctor left, Sophia returned with a tray of tea and biscuits. "I thought we could all use something to calm our nerves," she said, smiling softly.

Agent Ross took a cup of tea, his eyes never leaving Moselia's face. He knew that they had a long and difficult road ahead of them. But he was determined to see it through, to protect Moselia and uncover the truth. No matter what it took.

Zayn gazed affectionately at Moselia and decide to carry her up the stairs to the bedroom.

As Zayn gently lifted Moselia into his arms, Agent Ross watched with a mix of curiosity and concern. There was something about the way Zayn looked at Moselia, a deep affection and protectiveness, that made Agent Ross wonder about their relationship.

"Zayn, how do you know Moselia?" Agent Ross asked, following him up the stairs.

Zayn hesitated, his eyes flicking to Moselia's face before responding. "We've known each other for a long time," he said quietly. "I've been helping her, protecting her, for years."

Agent Ross's eyes narrowed. "From what?"

Zayn's expression turned grim. "From those who would harm her. From Umbra and Erebus Descendants."

As they reached the top of the stairs, Sophia opened the door to a cozy bedroom, and Zayn carefully laid Moselia down on the bed. Agent Ross watched as Zayn tucked her in, his touch gentle and tender.

"Get some rest, Mosi," Zayn whispered, his voice filled with emotion.

Moselia stirred, her eyes fluttering open. "Zayn..." she whispered, her voice weak.

"I'm here," Zayn replied, his eyes locked on hers. "I'll always be here to protect you."

Agent Ross felt a pang of unease, unsure of what to make of the intimate moment between Zayn and Moselia. But as he looked at Moselia's peaceful face, he knew that he had to trust Zayn, for now.

Once Zayn closed the door, he( Zayn) went to his room.

On getting in he saw Sophia.

"What are you doing here?"

Sophia was sitting on Zayn's bed, her eyes fixed on him with an intense gaze. "I've been waiting for you," she said, her voice low and mysterious.

Zayn's eyes narrowed. "What's going on, Sophia? You know I'm busy protecting Moselia."

Sophia stood up, her movements fluid and graceful. "I know," she said. "But there's something you need to know. Something about Moselia's past."

Zayn's expression turned alert. "What is it?"

Sophia hesitated, her eyes darting around the room as if she feared being overheard. "I've been digging into Dr. Elwes' research," she said quietly. "And I think I've found something big."

Zayn's eyes locked onto hers. "What is it?"

Sophia took a deep breath. "Moselia's memories... they're not just suppressed. They're false. Dr. Elwes created a new identity for her, a new past. And I think I know why."

Zayn's face went white. "Tell me," he growled, his voice barely above a whisper.

He needed to know.

Not while he was alive would anything happen to his Moselia.

He didn't want to believe Sophia, but right now he had no choice.

"Tell me every you know, stop holding back secrets from me, and better don't no lie, also don't try to show mock show of caring for Mosi, we both know you don't care one bit about anybody"

She smiled.

Sophia's smile was like a crack in a mask, revealing a hint of something sinister beneath. "Oh, Zayn," she said, her voice dripping with sweetness. "I'm so glad you're willing to listen. You see, Dr. Elwes didn't just suppress Moselia's memories, he created a whole new identity for her. A identity that's so deeply ingrained, she believes it's real."

Zayn's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in anger. "What are you talking about?"

Sophia leaned in, her voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "Moselia's not who she thinks she is, Zayn. She's not even human."

Zayn's eyes widened, his mind reeling with the implications. "What do you mean?"

Sophia's smile grew wider. "Moselia's a product of Dr. Elwes' experiments, a hybrid of human and... something else. Something powerful."

Zayn's face went white, his eyes fixed on Sophia in horror. "You're lying," he growled, but Sophia just laughed.

"Oh, Zayn," she said, her voice dripping with malice. "I'm just getting started."

"what hybrid! Talk"

Sophia's smile grew even wider, her eyes glinting with a sinister light. "Moselia's a hybrid of human and Erebus," she said, her voice dripping with excitement. "The Erebus Descendants, they're not just a group, Zayn. They're a species. An ancient species with powers beyond your wildest dreams."

Zayn's mind reeled, his eyes fixed on Sophia in horror. "That's impossible," he growled, but Sophia just laughed.

"Oh, it's very possible," she said. "And Moselia's the key to unlocking their secrets. You see, Dr. Elwes, he didn't just experiment on her. He merged her DNA with that of an Erebus, creating a hybrid with unimaginable power."

Zayn's face went white, his eyes fixed on Sophia in shock. "What have you done?" he growled, his voice barely above a whisper.

Sophia's smile grew even wider. "I've just begun, Zayn. And soon, Moselia will fulfill her destiny. She'll unlock the secrets of the Erebus, and we'll harness their power."

Zayn's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in anger. "You'll never let that happen," he growled, his voice dripping with menace.

Sophia's smile faltered for a moment, but then she laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "Oh, Zayn," she said, her voice dripping with condescension. "You're so predictable. You think you can stop me? I have the upper hand here. I have the knowledge, the resources, and the power."

Zayn's eyes flashed with anger, his face twisted in a snarl. "You may have power," he growled, "but I have something you'll never have: Moselia's trust."

Sophia's expression turned icy, her eyes glinting with malice. "We'll see about that," she said, her voice dripping with venom. "You see, Zayn, I have a little surprise waiting for you. Something that will change everything."

Zayn's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. What could Sophia have planned? He knew he had to be careful, had to stay one step ahead of her. But for now, he just smiled, a cold, calculated smile. "Bring it on," he said, his voice dripping with menace.

"I don't need her memories unlocked, I should never have trusted you, you think you'll succeed, so you're in cahoots with them? And all these time you just wanted to get my trust? I'll never let you hurt her"

Sophia's smile faltered, her eyes flashing with anger. "You fool," she spat, her voice venomous. "You think you can stop me? I have the upper hand, Zayn. I have the resources, the knowledge, and the power. And with Moselia's memories unlocked, I'll have the key to controlling her."

Zayn's eyes blazed with fury, his face twisted in a snarl. "I'll never let that happen," he growled, his voice low and menacing.

Sophia sneered, her lip curling in contempt. "You're too late," she said. "The process has already begun. Moselia's memories are already starting to surface. And when they do, she'll be mine."

Zayn's eyes widened, his mind racing with horror. He knew he had to act fast, had to stop Sophia before it was too late. He lunged at her, his fists clenched, but she was too quick. With a laugh, she dodged his attack and disappeared into the shadows, leaving Zayn alone and enraged.

Immediately the door burst open

And Moselia stood in the doorway, her eyes wild and unfocused. "Zayn?" she whispered, her voice trembling.

Zayn's heart skipped a beat as he rushed to her side. "Moselia, what's wrong?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.

Moselia's eyes locked onto his, and for a moment, Zayn saw a glimmer of the girl he once knew. But then, her gaze clouded, and she stumbled forward, her hands grasping for something unseen.

"Zayn, I remember," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I remember what they did to me. What they made me do."

Zayn's grip on her arms tightened. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice firm.

Moselia's eyes flashed with fear. "I don't know who I am," she whispered. "I don't know what I've done."

Zayn's heart broke as he pulled her close. "You're safe now," he whispered. "I've got you."

But as he looked into her eyes, he knew that Sophia's plan was already in motion. Moselia's memories were surfacing, and with them, a power that could destroy them all.

Immediately agent Ross came in and saw that Moselia was awake.

"Take her, we're leaving, this is enemy territory" Zayn told him.

"Do you think I'd let you leave just like that!" Sophia said.

Immediately agent Ross came in and saw that Moselia was awake.

"Take her, we're leaving, this is enemy territory" Zayn told him.

"Do you think I'd let you leave just like that!" Sophia said.

The moment she tried to attack us.

Moselia stood in front of us( Zayn and Ross) both.

"Leave them alone" her voice was normal but there was that commanding force that made Sophia shrink back and held her ears as the glass rattled from the impact. Sophia ears had blood coming out from it too.

Agent Ross's eyes widened in shock as Moselia stood her ground, her voice ringing with an otherworldly authority. Sophia stumbled back, clutching her ears in agony, as the glass in the room shattered and rattled from the force of Moselia's command.

"Whoa, what's going on here?" Agent Ross asked, his voice barely above a whisper, as he stared at Moselia in awe.

Zayn's eyes were fixed on Moselia, his expression a mix of wonder and concern. "Moselia, what's happening to you?" he asked, his voice gentle.

Moselia's eyes flashed with a fierce inner light, her gaze fixed on Sophia. "You will not harm them," she growled, her voice low and menacing.

Sophia, still clutching her ears, stumbled backward, her eyes wide with fear. "What have you done to her?" she spat, her voice venomous.

Zayn's eyes narrowed. "You have no idea what you've unleashed," he said, his voice dripping with malice.

As the tension in the room escalated, Agent Ross stepped forward, his gun drawn. "I think it's time we got out of here," he said, his voice firm.

But Moselia stood her ground, her eyes fixed on Sophia, her presence radiating an aura of power and control. "You will not leave," she said, her voice commanding.

And with that, the room fell silent, waiting with bated breath for what would happen next.

The air was thick with tension as Moselia's words hung in the air, her eyes blazing with an inner fire. Sophia, still clutching her ears, cowered in the corner, her eyes fixed on Moselia with a mix of fear and awe.

Zayn and Agent Ross exchanged a wary glance, unsure of what to do next. They knew they had to get out of there, but Moselia's command had frozen them in place.

Suddenly, Moselia's gaze shifted, her eyes locking onto Zayn. "You will stay," she said, her voice softer now, but still laced with an underlying authority.

Zayn's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with questions. What was happening to Moselia? What was she becoming?

Agent Ross took a step forward, his gun still trained on Sophia. "Moselia, we need to get out of here," he said, his voice firm but gentle.

But Moselia's gaze didn't waver. "You will stay," she repeated, her voice firm.

And with that, the room seemed to hold its breath, waiting for Moselia's next move. Would she release them, or would she keep them captive? The uncertainty hung in the air like a challenge, waiting to be met.

Immediately her eyes cleared and the pressure in the room dropped.

Zayn and Ross could move and Sophia had fainted.

Immediately they both held her hand.

"Let's go?" Zayn said softly.

Moselia nodded, her eyes still a bit dazed, but her gaze softening as she looked at Zayn and Ross. She allowed them to lead her out of the room, her hand grasped tightly in theirs.

As they moved through the deserted corridors, Moselia's grip on their hands tightened. "What happened?" she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Zayn's eyes met Ross's, and he nodded slightly. "We'll explain later," Zayn said softly. "Just know you're safe now."

Moselia nodded, her eyes fixed on Zayn's face. "I remember things," she whispered. "Things I don't understand."

Ross's grip on her hand tightened. "We'll help you figure it out," he said. "But first, we need to get you out of here."

As they reached the exit, Moselia hesitated, her eyes fixed on the door. "Sophia?" she whispered.

Zayn's expression hardened. "She's not a concern right now," he said. "Let's get you to safety."

Moselia nodded, and together, the three of them stepped out into the unknown, leaving the secrets and dangers of the facility behind.
