Moselia's eyes widened in shock. "Avian? You mean, like birds?"
Dr. Samir nodded. "Yes, specifically, the gene responsible for the incredible navigation and spatial awareness of homing eagles. It was thought that this gene would enhance your ability to track and locate targets, but it seems to have had a more... profound effect."
Zayn's voice was laced with anger. "You mean, they made her a human eagle hybrid?"
Dr. Samir hesitated. "Not exactly...it's more complicated than that. The gene was meant to be a simple enhancement, but it seems to have integrated into her DNA in unexpected ways, resulting in...teleportation."
Moselia's mind reeled as she tried to process this information. She felt like a science experiment, a freak of nature. But as she looked at Ross and Zayn, she saw only acceptance and support. They didn't care what she was made of; they cared about her.
"what's more" I whispered
Dr. Samir's expression turned even more solemn. "There's something else, Moselia. The avian gene...it's not the only one. There are others, mixed into your DNA, from different species."
Moselia's eyes widened in horror. "What do you mean? What species?"
Dr. Samir hesitated before answering. "Feline, for agility and reflexes. Canine, for enhanced senses. And...something else. Something we're not quite sure of."
Ross's voice was low and menacing. "What do you mean, you're not quite sure of?"
Dr. Samir swallowed hard. "There's a...a unknown gene, one we've never seen before. It's as if...it's adapting, evolving, changing. We don't know what it does, or what it's capable of."
Moselia felt like her world was crashing down around her. She was a hybrid, a mix of human and...and what? She didn't even know. Zayn's hand found hers, squeezing it tightly. "We'll figure it out, Mosi. Together."
"no, I think you know, you're just not telling because it's frightening, you think I won't take it, say it" she said.
Everyone looked at her.
"She's really exceptional"
Dr. Samir's eyes darted around the room, as if searching for an escape from the truth. "Moselia, I...I don't know if you're ready for this."
Moselia's grip on Zayn's hand tightened. "Tell me."
Dr. Samir took a deep breath. "The unknown gene...it's not from any known species. It's...it's extraterrestrial."
The room fell silent, as if the air had been sucked out. Moselia's mind reeled, trying to process the impossible. "What do you mean?" she whispered.
Dr. Samir's voice trembled. "We think...we think you have Erebus DNA, Moselia. And it's changing you, evolving you into something...something more."
Ross's eyes widened in shock, while Zayn's face set in a determined expression. Moselia felt like her world had been turned upside down, but she stood tall, ready to face whatever lay ahead. "I'm still me," she said, her voice firm. "No matter what's inside me."
"tell me what Is going to happen to me with this new gene"
Dr. Samir's expression turned grave. "We're not entirely sure, Moselia. The Erebus DNA is adapting, evolving at an exponential rate. We've seen...changes in you already. Your teleportation ability, your enhanced senses...it's just the beginning."
Moselia's heart raced as she felt a shiver run down her spine. "What else can I expect?"
Dr. Samir hesitated before answering. "We predict...physical transformations. Your body may change, adapt to new environments, new situations. Your mind...may expand, become more powerful. You may develop new abilities, new senses."
Ross's voice was laced with concern. "What kind of transformations?"
Dr. Samir's eyes locked onto Moselia's. "We don't know. That's the truth. We're in uncharted territory here. But...we think you may become something more than human, I wasn't in charge of the experiment so I don't know"
Moselia felt like she was staring into the abyss, unsure of what lay ahead. But she steeled herself, ready to face whatever came next. "I'm ready," she said, her voice firm. "I'll face it head-on."
"wait, first, how sure are we that we can believe you? How do you know all these? What's your gain. Why are you helping us, were you once part of them too, wanting to exploit her?" Zayn asked.
Dr. Samir's expression turned somber, and he nodded as if expecting the questions. "Fair concerns, Zayn. I'll be transparent. I was part of the research team that created Moselia, but I grew uneasy with the project's direction. I realized we were playing with fire, tampering with human DNA and alien technology without fully understanding the consequences."
He paused, collecting his thoughts.
"I secretly worked on a parallel project, trying to find a way to reverse the effects, to help subjects like Moselia control their abilities. But I was discovered, and I had to flee. I've been in hiding ever since, trying to make things right."
Ross's eyes narrowed. "What's your gain?"
Dr. Samir's eyes locked onto Moselia's. "My gain is redemption. I want to help Moselia master her powers, to use them for good. And I want to expose the truth about the project, to bring those responsible to justice."
Moselia studied Dr. Samir's face, searching for any sign of deception. But all she saw was sincerity and determination.
Zayn's voice was still laced with skepticism. "And how do we know we can trust you?"
Dr. Samir smiled wryly. "You don't. Not yet. But I'm willing to earn your trust, to prove myself. I'll help Moselia control her powers, and together, we'll uncover the truth."
"they're others like me too? What happened to them? Are they dead or..."
Dr. Samir's expression turned grim. "There were several subjects in the program, but...most didn't survive the experimentation process. The ones who did...they're either in hiding, like me, or they're still trapped in the program, being exploited for their abilities.i don't know at all"
Moselia's heart ached at the thought of others like her, suffering, trapped.
Dr. Samir continued, "But there's one...one subject who's still out there, still active. Code-named 'Erebus'. He's...different, more powerful than the others. And he's not on our side."
Ross's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"
Dr. Samir's voice dropped to a whisper. "Erebus has turned rogue. He's using his abilities for his own gain, and he'll stop at nothing to get what he wants. We need to be careful, Moselia. He's might or might not be a danger to us all."
Moselia felt a shiver run down her spine. She had so many questions, but one stood out above the rest: "What makes him so powerful?"
"what makes him so powerful?? Is he the Erebus lineage that they were all talking about, that I come from" she asked
Dr. Samir's eyes widened, and he nodded slowly. "Yes, Moselia. Erebus is the first successful subject of the program, the prototype. He's the one who...who started it all. And yes, you come from the same lineage, the same genetic line."
Moselia's mind reeled as she tried to process this information. "What does that mean?"
Dr. Samir's voice was barely above a whisper. "It means you two are connected, genetically, telepathically...in ways we don't fully understand. Erebus's powers are...unmatched, and we think it's because he's the key to unlocking the secrets of the DNA you were injected with"
Ross's eyes locked onto Moselia's, filled with a mix of concern and determination. "We need to be careful, Mosi. If Erebus is connected to you..."
Dr. Samir finished the sentence for him. "Then he may be able to control her, manipulate her powers. We can't let that happen."
Moselia felt a chill run down her spine. She was caught in a web of secrets and lies, and she didn't know who to trust. But one thing was certain: she wouldn't let anyone control her, not even Erebus.
She sat back again,
"Alright start the tests, check what you want to"
Dr. Samir nodded, a hint of a smile on his face. "Very well, Moselia. Let's begin. Please, lie down on the examination table."
Moselia complied, feeling a mix of nerves and determination. She was ready to face whatever lay ahead.
Dr. Samir began attaching sensors and electrodes to her body, explaining each step as he went. "These will monitor your brain activity, heart rate, and other vital signs. We'll also be scanning your DNA, trying to understand the extent of the alien genetic material."
Ross and Zayn watched anxiously from the sidelines, their eyes fixed on Moselia.
As the tests began, Moselia felt a strange sensation, like her body was being scanned from the inside out. She closed her eyes, focusing on her breathing, trying to relax.
Dr. Samir's voice was calm and soothing. "Just relax, Moselia. This will all be over soon."
But Moselia's mind was racing. What would they find? What secrets would her body reveal?
Suddenly, the machines around her beeped erratically, and Dr. Samir's voice became urgent. "Moselia, can you hear me? We're reading some unusual activity..."
Suddenly, the machines around her beeped erratically, and Dr. Samir's voice became urgent. "Moselia, can you hear me? We're reading some unusual activity..."
Moselia's eyes snapped open, and she sat up with a jolt. "What's happening?" she asked, her voice firm and commanding.
Dr. Samir's face was pale. "Your DNA is...changing. The alien genetic material is activating, adapting to the tests."
Ross and Zayn stepped forward, their eyes wide with concern.
Moselia felt a surge of energy coursing through her veins. She could sense her body shifting, evolving.
Dr. Samir's voice was filled with awe. "Moselia, your cells are regenerating at an incredible rate. Your DNA is rewriting itself..."
Moselia's vision blurred, and she felt herself being lifted off the table. She was floating, suspended in mid air.
Ross and Zayn shouted, trying to reach her, but Dr. Samir held them back.
"Wait! We don't know what's happening!"
Moselia's body began to glow, a soft, pulsing light emanating from her skin.
She felt herself being transformed, her mind expanding, her senses heightening.
And then, everything went white.
When she opened her eyes again, every where was still the same.
The same lab, everyone was just looking at her in awe and the shock in her face made her realize something had happened it when she looked at herself, she found nothing wrong.
"Guys what happened"
Dr. Samir's voice was barely above a whisper. "Moselia, you...you teleported. You disappeared from the table and reappeared in the same spot, but...but something's different."
Ross's eyes were wide with wonder. "Your eyes, Mosi. They're...they're glowing."
Moselia's hands instinctively went to her face, and she felt a strange, pulsating energy emanating from her eyes.
Zayn's voice was filled with awe. "And your skin, it's...it's shimmering, like your DNA is visible beneath the surface."
Dr. Samir nodded, his eyes shining with excitement. "We've never seen anything like this before. Your transformation is complete, Moselia. You're...you're something more now."
Moselia's mind reeled as she tried to process what had happened. She felt...different, powerful, like she could see and sense things she couldn't before.
She looked at her hands, and they seemed to be glowing with a soft, blue light.
"What am I?" she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Dr. Samir's smile was wide. "You, Moselia, are the future."
Zayn immediately passed her a mirror and she saw that her once brown eyes had become ice blue with a touch of grey
Moselia's gaze was frozen on her reflection, her mind struggling to comprehend the transformation. Her eyes, once a deep brown, now shone like ice blue crystals, with a hint of grey that seemed to shift and shimmer in the light.
She felt a shiver run down her spine as she gazed into her own eyes, seeing a stranger staring back at her. The blue was so vibrant, so intense, that it seemed to glow from within.
Ross's voice was barely above a whisper. "Mosi, you're...you're beautiful."
Zayn's eyes were fixed on hers, filled with wonder. "Your eyes are like...like the stars."
Dr. Samir's voice was filled with excitement. "This is it, Moselia. This is the key to unlocking your true potential. Your eyes are a sign of your advanced evolution."
Moselia's gaze remained locked on her reflection, her thoughts racing with questions. What did this mean? What was she becoming?
As she looked deeper into her eyes, she saw something else, something that made her heart skip a beat - a glimpse of Erebus, the rogue subject, staring back at her.
Moselia's breath caught in her throat as she saw Erebus's gaze mirrored in her own eyes. It was as if he was looking back at her, his presence lingering within her.
Dr. Samir's voice was urgent. "Moselia, what do you see?"
Moselia's voice trembled. "Erebus...I see Erebus."
Ross and Zayn exchanged worried glances.
Dr. Samir's eyes narrowed. "What does it mean?"
Moselia's gaze remained locked on her reflection. "I...I think he's connected to me. Inside me."
Suddenly, her vision blurred, and Erebus's face materialized in front of her, his eyes burning with an otherworldly intensity.
"Moselia," he whispered, his voice echoing in her mind. "We're bound together, forever."
Moselia's heart raced as she felt Erebus's presence coursing through her veins, their connection growing stronger.
Dr. Samir's voice was firm. "Moselia, snap out of it! We need to understand what's happening."
But Moselia was lost in the depths of her own eyes, trapped in a world where Erebus's presence haunted her.
As she gazed deeper, Moselia felt herself being pulled into a vortex of memories, visions, and emotions that weren't her own. She saw glimpses of Erebus's past, his struggles, and his triumphs. She felt his pain, his anger, and his determination.
The boundaries between their minds began to blur, and Moselia's sense of identity started to fade. She was no longer sure where she ended and Erebus began.
Ross's voice was distant, a faint echo in her mind. "Moselia, come back to us!"
But Moselia was too far gone, lost in the labyrinth of Erebus's consciousness. She saw the secrets he kept, the powers he wielded, and the mysteries he uncovered.
And then, a shocking revelation hit her like a tidal wave: Erebus was not just a rogue subject – he was a key to unlocking the secrets of the alien DNA, and Moselia was the door.
As the truth dawned on her, Moselia's world went dark, and she collapsed, her mind reeling from the implications.
Dr. Samir rushed to her side, his voice filled with concern. "Moselia, no! Don't lose consciousness now!"
Ross and Zayn helped him lift her onto the examination table, their faces etched with worry.
As they worked to revive her, Moselia's mind was adrift in a sea of chaos. She saw fragments of her past, her present, and her future, all intertwined with Erebus's existence.
Visions of an ancient civilization, of alien technology, and of humanity's true purpose flashed before her eyes.
When Moselia finally came to, she was greeted by the anxious faces of her friends and the doctor.
Dr. Samir's voice was gentle. "Moselia, can you hear me? We need to talk."
Moselia's gaze was unfocused, her mind still reeling. "I...I saw things," she whispered. "Erebus...the alien DNA...it's all connected."
Ross's eyes locked onto hers. "What do you mean?"
Moselia's voice was barely audible. "I think I'm the key to unlocking the secrets of the universe."
"this is your brain scan" Zayn grabbed it from him.
"All the body fluctuations are recorded in there"
"While you were unconscious, you kind of telepathically broke a lot of glasses " we looked around and she smiled sheepishly
"Sorry about that "
"It's fine, so you were saying?"
Dr. Samir nodded, taking the brain scan back from Zayn. "Yes, as you can see, your brain activity is off the charts. The fluctuations in your body temperature, heart rate, and neural activity are unprecedented."
He pointed to a section of the scan. "This spike here indicates a telepathic surge, which explains the broken glasses. You were broadcasting your thoughts, and it seems they were strong enough to shatter objects."
Moselia's eyes widened. "I did that?"
Ross nodded. "You're getting stronger, Mosi. Your abilities are evolving."
Dr. Samir continued, "And this section here shows an unusual connection between your brain and...something else. We're not sure what it is, but it's definitely not human."
Moselia's gaze locked onto the scan, her mind racing. "Erebus," she whispered. "It's him. We're connected somehow."
Zayn's eyes narrowed. "What does that mean?"
Moselia's voice was firm. "It means I need to find him. Now."
"why? Why do we need to find him? It's because of him you're this way, he's not exactly worth finding to me if you ask" Ross asked, frowning.
Moselia's eyes flashed with determination. "That's exactly why we need to find him, Ross. He's the key to understanding what's happening to me. And maybe, just maybe, he can help me control these abilities before they destroy me."
Dr. Samir nodded in agreement. "Ross, we can't ignore the connection between Moselia and Erebus. It's the only lead we have to unlock the secrets of the Erebus DNA."
Zayn's voice was cautious. "But what if he's dangerous, Mosi? What if he's using you for his own purposes?"
Moselia's jaw set. "I'll take that risk. I need to know the truth about myself, about what I'm becoming. And Erebus is the only one who can give me those answers."
Ross's frown deepened, but he knew Moselia's mind was made up. "Fine, we'll find him. But if he's using you, I'll be the first one to take him down."
Moselia's smile was tight. "I'm counting on it, Ross."
"we're coming too" Dr Samir said
"Why?" Ross said
Dr. Samir's expression was firm. "Because, Ross, this is no longer just about Moselia's transformation. It's about the implications of the alien DNA, and the potential risks to humanity. As the lead researcher, I need to be there to assess the situation and ensure that we're not walking into a catastrophe."
Zayn nodded in agreement. "Besides, we're a team. We're in this together, always."
Ross's gaze lingered on Moselia, his concern evident. "Fine, but we're doing this my way. We'll go in quiet, gather intel, and get out. No heroics."
Moselia's smile was wry. "Scout's honor?"
Ross's expression softened, and he nodded. "Scout's honor."
Dr. Samir's eyes shone with determination. "Then let's get moving. We have an Erebus to find."
"but first, wear this" he placed a watch on Moselia's hand.
"What's this for"
"This will track your brain and heart fluctuations so that we'll be forewarned when your powers are getting out of control, like what you guys said that happened with your teleportation, until your memories are complete and your mastery over your super human powers, this stays on, also for our own good"
"Thanks" she smiled and Ross smiled when he saw it
Ross's smile was relieved, and he nodded in approval. "Good thinking, Doc. We don't know what we're up against, and this will at least give us a heads up if Mosi's powers start to spike."
Moselia adjusted the watch, feeling a sense of reassurance with it on her wrist. "I feel like I'm part of a superhero team or something."
Dr. Samir chuckled. "Well, you are, in a way. Just without the fancy costumes... yet."
Zayn grinned. "Hey, we can work on that. But first, let's get moving. We have an Erebus to find, and Mosi's powers to master."
Ross clapped his hands together. "Alright, team. Let's gear up and get out there. We've got a long road ahead of us."
"wait before we leave, let's stay and enjoy the beauty of Egypt, I've always wanted to come here" Ross said.
"You haven't been to Egypt?" Moselia asked and he shook his head.
"But we've stayed long enough, the people that want to use Mosi might catch up to us" Zayn said.
"About that, there was a tracking chip installed at the back of her neck, it's been taken out so she's save for now, she won't be caught anytime soon"
Moselia's eyes widened in shock. "A tracking chip? Who put it there?"
Dr. Samir's expression was grim. "We suspect it was implanted during your initial experiments, before you escaped. But don't worry, it's been removed, and you're safe for now."
Ross's face darkened. "We need to be vigilant, though. If they were willing to go that far, they won't give up easily."
Zayn nodded. "Agreed. But for now, let's take a short break and enjoy the city. We can't stay hidden forever, and Mosi deserves a chance to experience Egypt's beauty."
Moselia smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards her friends. "Thank you, guys. I'd love to explore Egypt with you."
Dr. Samir smiled, his eyes twinkling. "Then it's settled. We'll take a short detour, and I'll show you the wonders of this ancient land."
"you're in luck tonight they're celebrating their Egyptian festival, you get to go" Dr. Samir laughed.
"Let's go"
As they went out of the lab and back to the house.
They separated from Moselia, While Zayn and Ross washed and dressed up in Egypt Ancient dress, with the head turban and white and black robes.
As they came down they smiled.
"I think it fits you better" Dr. Samir laughed.
Zayn was on black while Ross was on white.
Ross looked around immediately, looking for Moselia.
"Where Mosi?" Zayn said.
"I'm here"
They turned and saw her.
Dressed in a waist line black skirt, with waist jewelry around and an exposed tummy and black Egyptian Crop top, a scarf around her face, covering from her nose down and her long flowing black hair.
That magic blue eyes, so striking.
She smiled,
"How do I look?"
